“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Talking it over at break, we thought that at first we could ask Seth to comment briefly on a very vivid dream I had on Friday evening, October 10, 1964. Then I thought it better to ask for a comment on the vivid experience Marian and Jimmy Spaziani had, concerning Jimmy’s deceased father, recently. [...]

[...] His father had died a few months ago, and while he stood in the backyard, a place he knew and had loved since childhood, Jimmy thought to himself: “Now, if I could see my father’s apparition, then I could tell Ma, and she’d feel a lot better,” or words to that effect. [...]

(Jimmy of course related to Marian his thoughts about seeing his father’s apparition. [...]

Another thought here is the love of continuing creation, which is continually formed by, through, and because of inquiring consciousness. [...]

[...] Shortly before 7 PM Jane told me that she felt herself to be in an excellent mood of pleasant anticipation; she thought she might be trying to receive information, but did not know how to go about it.

[...] We began to exchange random thoughts. [...]

[...] This elementary telepathy is not the communication of thought as such, but is the communication of intent, desire and purpose. [...]

The type of telepathy which is most commonly thought of as telepathy is of course not the elemental type of which I spoke earlier, but a different variety. [...]

[...] So plainly I thought my eyes were open.

[...] For a moment I thought I might be attempting to travel or lift up.

[...] Evidently she picked up my thought about conversing with Seth’s friends. [...] She then answered my thoughts in closing out the session.

The entity should therefore not be thought of as completed. [...]

[...] Jane had thought Seth would continue the interruption as our first break, but shortly she announced he wanted to continue. [...]

We have seen that dreams and thoughts and psychological experiences all have an electric reality.

It is most difficult at this time to even hint at the myriad complexity and dimension of the electrical actuality as it exists, when you consider that each of your own thoughts is composed of a unique intensity of impulse, shared by nothing else, and that the same may be said for every dream that you will have in your lifetime; and that all your experience is gathered together in particular ranges of intensity, again completely unique, codified; and that the summation of all that you are exists in one minute range or band of intensities, then you will see how difficult it is. [...]

[...] And in dreams and in intuitions and unspoken thoughts, the individual comes to terms with the whole self, of which it is merely one portion, and not necessarily the dominant portion.

[...] On the most superficial level, dreaming Ruburt thought “One day I shall be an old tub,” meaning an old worn-out vessel. [...]

[...] A pastel drawing of a green leafy tree especially charmed me, and I exclaimed to Bill and the others that Jane’s drawings were much better than I had thought them to be, or had realized she could do.

[...] She had thought it to be about 9:30 or so. [...]

(November 3, Tuesday 7 AM: Getting dressed for work this morning, I abruptly had the rather clear thought that I should walk back to my studio and look out the back windows, because I would be able to see that a car was parked in front of the garage, blocking the exit of my car from the garage. [...]

[...] First, I was aware that I felt as if body had dissolved below chest; but then thought that it really might have. [...]

[...] On page 89, in the 100th session, Seth had stated that Jane could allow herself more freedom now, and since she had mentioned the feeling of what she calls ecstasy to me this noon, I thought she was indeed doing more than usual. [...]

We have been speaking of the electric reality and actuality of thoughts and emotions, and of dreams, and of all such experiences which appear to be purely psychological in origin, and take up no space in your physical universe.

[...] Now indeed this electrical field in which thoughts and emotions and dreams have an independent actuality, this field contains depths and dimensions of a sort most difficult to explain.

(Jane also thought she knew something of what Seth had planned to discuss this evening, relative to action within action. [...]

[...] From my position they appeared to be closed, but from the confident manner in which she moved about the room I thought she could see a little at least.)

[...] Jane thought Seth intended that she begin the session sitting down; instead she got up, and we think it reasonable that as compensation Seth introduced the nearly-closed-eye experiment.

[...] I thought the session might be short and decided to rely upon my memory for a reconstruction. [...]

[...] My own thought, as soon as he began to speak, was that I had made a mistake in method, since his appearance was a complete surprise to our guests. [...]

[...] She thought her trance state was somewhat deeper than usual even when she is seated.

I thought that you would understand this automatically, but apparently you did not. [...]

[...] As the vitality of the universe forms, of itself, the boundaries of the various fields of activity, and as vitality itself takes on the coloration of the various fields and forms the camouflage patterns within them, so also vitality, in the form of emotions that the camouflage patterns of the personality, even while this vitality forms both emotions and personality for every individual, every consciousness, may be thought of as a separate field of activity; and all the data relating to fields of activity may be seen to apply to any consciousness as well.

[...] I thought it best to continue, rather than to backtrack in an effort to straighten it out. [...]

Discipline then should not only be considered, as it is by some schools of thought, as a mere mental discipline over the muscles, or various portions of the body by the inner self, but indeed a discipline in terms of training of the ego by the inner self, so that the ego as a personality achieves a well-balanced relationship with the physical universe.

[...] She said she thought Seth would end the session at about 11:00. [...]

[...] But since it was 10:15, I thought the session would end soon.)

[...] Had just thought consciously how much he meant to me. [...]

[...] First I thought: “Well, I’ve always feared my mother’s death,” and I was almost relieved that it was over. [...]

[...] After some thought she said she was aware that she was speaking in a strong voice, during dictation. [...]

[...] Briefly, and I could be mistaken, I thought I had a sensation of being suspended perhaps a foot or so above my body.

[...] In it he said that although he was not sure, he thought Jane’s schoolgirl friend, Marie Tubbs, now living in Florida, may have been in childbirth at the time of Jane’s dream, with a possibility that the water bag had broken during birth. [...]

(The last few paragraphs of the above material we thought to be an elaboration of Seth’s rather cryptic statement in the 97th session, page 72, to the effect that in some respects all planes or fields of existence are indeed by-products of others.
