[...] What’s he trying to do, I asked Jane—combine something like science’s theoretical “big-bang” origin of the universe, all of those billions of years ago, with creationism’s theory of a recent spontaneous, divine creation of that same universe? [...] [Here we go again, I speculated, back to struggling with that contradictory notion of “simultaneous time.”] How does Seth’s instantaneous “beginning processes that formed the universe”—with no time involved—square with fossils in the earth? Isn’t he saying that the universe grew/evolved through a series of dream states?

In ordinary terms, she knows practically nothing concerning several other less prominent theories regarding the beginning of the universe. [...] One of the big differences between the two is that in the big-bang theory all of the matter in the universe was already present, though existing in an extremely dense state which then began to expand; the inflationary model suggests that the universe was created out of nothing, or out of just about nothing—meaning that through unforeseeable rhythms subatomic particles spontaneously came into being, with sufficient energy behind them to enable them to persist as matter. [...]

Before the beginning of the universe, we will postulate the existence of an omnipotent, creative source. (Pause.) We will hope to show that this divine subjectivity is as present in the world of your experience as it was before the beginning of the universe. [...]

(Last Saturday evening we were visited by Dr. LeRoy Guy [I’ll call him], a professor of psychology at a well-known nearby university. [...] When Jane called Dr. Guy in return, he told her that he’d contacted her at the behest of a Dr. Camper [another pseudonym].¹ Dr. Camper, a professor of sociology at a midwestern university, had asked Dr. Guy to ask Jane to be tested for her psychic ability. [...]

You cannot pinpoint the beginning of the universe—for (suddenly louder) that beginning is simultaneously too vast and too small to be contained in any of your specifications. [...] (Pause.) When you ask how old is the universe, or how old is the world, then you are taking it for granted that time and space are somehow or other almost absolute qualities. [...]

(Pause at 9:23.) The physical world as you know it is unique, vital to the importance of the universe itself. It is an integral part of that universe, and yet it is also quite its own reality. [...]

Seth’s material in those early sessions, given well over a decade ago for the most part, reflected of course his reactions to current astronomical theory about the state — and fate — of our physical (camouflage) universe. The idea of an infinitely expanding universe, with all of its stars ultimately burned out and all life extinct, is still the view largely accepted today; it’s based on the red shift measurements of some of the supposedly receding galaxies, their apparent brightnesses, the “missing mass” of the universe, and other very technical data. Yet I find it most interesting to note that now some astrophysicists and mathematicians believe our universe may be destined to contract — indeed, to collapse in upon itself — after all. [...] One of these is the discovery of at least some of that missing mass, thus indicating that gravitational fields may exist among the galaxies, and galactic clusters, strong enough not only to halt the expansion of the universe but to pull all matter back together again.

[...] The closest probability satellite to any given reality may, for example, be in an entirely different universe altogether. (Pause.) In that regard, you may find brethren more or less like yourselves outside of your own universe — as you think of it — rather than inside it. You imagine your universe as extending outward in space (and backwards in time). [...]

“Their time measurements, based on camouflage [physical information] to begin with, are almost riotously inadequate and bound to give distortive data, since the universe simply cannot be measured in those terms. The universe was not created at any particular time, but neither is it expanding into nowhere like an inflated balloon that grows forever larger — at least not along the lines now being considered. The expansion is an illusion, based among other things upon inadequate time measurements, and cause-and-effect theories; and yet in some manners the universe could be said to be expanding, but with entirely different connotations than are usually used.”

[...] You create an actuality, a dream universe, as real as the physical universe. It simply cannot be directly perceived within the physical universe. [...] You can perceive the dream experience, you can receive its particular intensities, because you have created the dream experience within the universe of those intensities. But the dream universe and the dream experience, like thoughts and emotions, are independent of you in existence. You influence the dream universe but you cannot stop a dream experience after you have created it, and you must create it within the small range of intensities available for its existence, for there are no other conditions or agreeable ranges of intensity within which the dream experience can exist.

[...] Your creations in the electrical universe may be said to appear as your future in the physical universe. [...] My use of terms such as electrical universe, and so forth, is merely for the sake of simplicity. [...]

You must, then, project or materialize the dream universe outside of the physical self in an electric reality, and then reinterpret it, because the original dream experience has an electric reality that cannot be perceived or used, even by its creators, until it is decoded.

Now: The planetary system of which we spoke in our last session was the first one within your universe, when you are speaking in terms of time. It is very difficult to explain to you that the universe that you see, the stars and planets that you view, are one-dimensional, comparatively speaking. [...]

[...] (Seth smiled.) The possibilities that have come to reality within this universal system have each given birth to other systems and realities, as one tree bears a thousand seeds. [...]

[...] Though they probe their own universe, they will not wander into your reality. [...]

[...] There are universes within universes. [...] Thoughts take electromagnetic patterns that have their own materializations as universal systems. [...]

In studying your physical universe, the distances seem great only because of your own point of reference within. The electromagnetic structure of your universe, in a basic manner, is divorced from its physical structure, though part of it can be deduced through a study of the physical structure.

[...] Now, very slowly: your entire physical universe represents one moment point in a whole overall design. [...]

“Without this sixth sense and its constant use by the inner self, you could not construct the physical camouflage universe. You can compare this sense with instinct, as you think of it, although it is concerned with the innate knowledge of the entire universe. [...] But inherent in the spider, as in man, is the complete comprehension of the universe as a whole.”

[...] It is concerned with the entity’s innate working knowledge of the basic vitality of the universe, without which no manipulations of vitality would be possible—as, for example, you could not stand up straight without first having an innate sense of balance.

It is very difficult to explain to you that the universes that you see, the stars and planets that you view, are one-dimensional, comparatively speaking. [...]

[...] Each individual is a portion of the universe, of course, apropos of the book on the Fabric of the Universe, but the universe is everywhere composed of awareized energy—energy “stamped” with its own unique psychic or psychological “individuality.”

(Lately Jane has been looking over Fabric of The Universe, a book by Denis Postle. [...]

[...] It is true that you are each versions of the universe, or even that every person alive is somehow a version of each other person, and it is true that a great unity underlies the basis of life, as you know it, that all things are interrelated. [...]

The universe is expanding in the way that a dream expands. [...] I told you earlier that your scientist’s idea of an expanding universe was in error, although in one important sense the universe was expanding, and this is what I referred to.

One takes up space in your universe and the other does not. The universe expands in the manner that a dream expands, taking up no camouflage space. This does not mean that there is no growth involved in the expansion of the universe. [...]

[...] Imagine in other words consciousness, growth, reality and expansion, having nothing to do with expansion of space in your terms, but an almost complete freedom of psychological realities, and you will come at least within the realm of understanding what I mean by an expanding universe that has nothing to do with the expanding universe of which your scientists speak.

Any investigation of the basic inner universe, which is the only real universe, must be done as much as possible from a point outside your own distortions, but the only way open for you to escape the distortions of your own physical universe is to journey inward. To get outside your own universe, you must travel inward, and this represents the only perspective free of distortive elements, from which valid experimentation can be carried on. Your so-called scientific, so-called objective experiments can continue for an eternity, but they only probe further and further with camouflage instruments into a camouflage universe.

Beneath this, pure and simple, undistorted, there for the searching, absolutely free for the asking, is the knowledge inherent in the inner self pertaining to the inner universe as a whole, its laws and principles, its composition. Here you will find, undistorted, uncamouflaged, the innate knowledge of the creation of the camouflage universe, the mechanics involved, much of the material that I have given you, the method and ways by which the inner self as a basic inhabitant of the inner universe, existing in the climate of psychological reality, helps create the various planes of existence, constructs outer senses to project and perceive the various apparent realities or camouflages, how the inner self reincarnates on the various planes. [...]

Yet even these camouflage patterns must follow the basic rules of the inner universe, and reflect them even if in a distortive manner. [...] So are all the other basic laws of the inner universe followed on every plane, and reflected from the most minute to the most gigantic spectrum.

This antimatter therefore, by inference, exists in duration on your terms for as long as your own universe of positive matter has existed. It might seem to you that the universe of antimatter is a twin of your own. [...] By this I mean that I herein include two universes very closely connected with your own.

[...] Your scientists have already discovered the theory of antimatter, but assume that it is completely separate from your own universe, I believe the latest theory being that a universe of antimatter may possibly be found at the furthest reaches of your known universe.

[...] Your universe is the focal point for physical manifestation, where the manipulation of matter predominates. One of the other two universes to which I refer is formed as energy is nearly approximate to your own; and energy not yet within a strong position to materialize into matter does, nevertheless, manage an early, somewhat weaker form.

They represent a more or less true account of the nature of your camouflage universe, but if they are understood as being limited to your camouflage environment only, then your scientists would not attempt to use them as yardsticks to measure other universes.

There are many other similar idea camouflage structures upon which you have based your camouflage universe. The theory that all or any other intelligent life exists on the same horizontal plane as your own, and that it necessarily exists in your own known camouflage universe, is another.

The discovery of the existence of the fifth dimension will of course lead your aggressive fellows into the realization that other intelligence can exist outside of your particular camouflage universe. And the quantitative distance on your own particular horizontal plane actually amounts to a qualitative difference, in that the theories of universal laws as presently conceived simply will not hold.

Nevertheless there is within the inner vitality and psychic value of the universe, constant creation, by which I mean the addition of something unique and new, and something that has not existed before. This creation arises from the vitality of the inner universe itself, and this vitality continually renews itself.

[...] It breaks energy down into simple components, but it must still operate within the given laws of the inner universe. [...] Its own knowledge is put into condensed form, and the molecules are therefore able to combine and recombine, according to the material properties inherent in your universe.

The fifth law of the inner universe is creation, as I have told you. [...]

When the physical origin of your universe is finally discovered, your scientists will be no better off than they are now. [...] The physical universe, and everything in it, is the result of consciousness. [...] To the contrary, consciousness not only created the physical universe, but continues to do so.

[...] I mentioned the capacity for infinite mobility and transmutation as being one of the laws of the inner universe. The reflection of this law is seen in the latent ability for almost infinite varieties of structures, and endless combinations that can be achieved by the atoms and molecules, and smaller particles of your universe.

[...] It goes without saying that mankind is not alone in maintaining the physical universe, and in giving it continuity as he projects and constructs his own physical image; and as this image is the direct result of his own inner psychic climate, and as it reflects most faithfully his own inner joy and illness, and as this joy and illness shows itself physically in his image, so also do all living things construct their own images, and help to maintain the physical properties of your universe.

Yet even these camouflage patterns must follow the basic rules of the inner universe, and reflect them, even if in a distortive manner. [...] So are all the other basic laws of the inner universe followed on every plane, and reflected from the most minute to the most gigantic spectrum.

Concentrating upon your own camouflage universe, you are able to distinguish only the distortive pattern, and from this pattern you deduce your ideas of cause and effect, past, present and future, and ideas of an expanding universe that floats …

[...] In those terms the body is a safe universe, self-regulating. [...] The physical universe always cooperates. It follows those beliefs of yours, for you physically mold your experience with the universe according to your beliefs about it.

Ruburt said somewhere “Sometimes you lean into the universe, and feel it give.” [...] Mankind “competed” against nature, which was to be conquered, so the universe seemed to be a threatening place. [...]

(10:44.) You live in a safe universe.

Philip should read the sessions dealing particularly with the laws of the universe, that is with the inner laws of the universe, appreciating then the facts that this universe within all universes is spontaneous while having durability. It would be backtracking to repeat that long discussion, but as the inner universe has as its attributes spontaneity and durability, and as the spacious present is simultaneous while containing within it all pasts and all presents and all futures, and as Philip understands the meaning of expansion in terms not of time or of space but of value fulfillment, so will he intuitively then grasp that no contradiction occurs with actual reality when I say that there is no beginning and no end.

[...] The universe and all planes and universes of existence, come indeed from what you may call energy, vitality, idea; or despite Ruburt’s stubborn blocking, from a personality essence or psychic gestalt which you may refer to as God if you prefer. [...]

Before any universe as you know it, or as I know it, existed, there was first a striving. [...]

If the dream world, the mind, and the inner universe do exist, but not in space, and if they do not exist basically in time, though they may be glimpsed through time, then your question will be: In what medium or in what manner do they exist, and without time, how can they be said to exist in duration? I am telling you that the basic universe exists behind all camouflage universes in the same manner, and taking up no space, that the mind exists behind the brain. [...] Your camouflage universe, on the other hand, takes up space and exists in time.

6. Ever since Seth came through with the material in this (44th) session 10 years ago, I’ve been interested in comparing his second law of the inner universe with the second law of thermodynamics of our “camouflage” physical sciences. [...] At the same time I see them as linked through our distorted perception of that inner reality, thus pointing up Seth’s statement just given, that “the so-called laws of your camouflage universe do not apply to the inner universe.” (When this session was held Jane knew nothing of the three laws of thermodynamics, or how they define energy/heat relationships in our universe. [...]

This basic universe of which I speak expands constantly in terms of intensity and quality and value, in a way that has nothing to do with your idea of space. The basic universe beneath all camouflage does not have an existence in space at all, as you envision it. Space is a camouflage … This tinge of time is an attribute of the physical camouflage form only, and even then the relationship between time and ideas, and time and dreams, is a nebulous one … although in some instances parts of the inner universe may be glimpsed from the camouflage perspective of time; only, however, a small portion.

There are in a basic sense other universes within the one that you recognize, and constantly happening in those universes are other events of which you are unaware. The universes exist one within the other, so to speak, and their events also one within the other, so that while any given event seems itself only in the terms that you recognize, it is a part of endless others that exist one within the other, and it is impossible at certain levels to separate the “portions.”

[...] Because you perceive events in the way that you do, of course, you see the familiar physical universe. Dream events, not as precise in space and time, often serve as a framework through which some evidence of other universes can be glimpsed. No system is closed, so there are interactions, so to speak, between all universes. [...]

[...] Events, again, gain their characteristics from those significances that you place upon the universe as your own being impresses it with your beliefs, desires, and individual nature.
