You see perhaps havoc within the physical field, and this is indeed to be faced and dealt with, and set straight, as aid is given to the victims of a hurricane. But you are familiar only with the results of action as they appear within the physical field, as long as you insist upon viewing your physical universe with the eyes of the ego-self; for the ego-self attempts to cut itself off from that action of which it is a part, and in so attempting it loses contact with this larger reality.

These coordinates are simply points where other fields of reality come into contact. [...]

The personality does indeed turn its focus into another field of reality, and does desert the camouflage image that it maintained. [...]

So the whole self turns various portions of its whole consciousness on or off, according to the field in which the whole self is endeavoring to make contact, manipulations, and according to the field in which he is endeavoring to project himself.

The chemical and electrical construction of the human individual opens other pathways, and requires other activities in other fields than those with which the conscious ego is familiar. The mechanics are not important, but as dreaming is partially caused by chemical poisons that make dreaming a necessity for physical survival, so there are other mechanisms of this kind that are actually doorways, built within and natural to the physical mechanism, that at the same time necessitate experience upon other fields of reality.
