(By 8:55 PM Jane was uncomfortable and nervous because she didn’t know what Seth was going to talk about. This feeling was heightened of course because she was also not sure whether she would sit with her eyes closed during the session, or pace about. She reminded me of Seth’s suggested phrase to bring her out of the trance state every half-hour, should she show signs of remaining in it for longer periods.

(I had placed the Kennedy rocker opposite my writing table. Jane remained seated as the session began. She put her feet up on the register, and rocked back and forth lightly as she dictated. Her eyes were closed for the most part, although she was smoking as the session began. Her voice was a little stronger than usual; it might also be noted that for the most part the pauses she uses during delivery are not now as long.)

(Again Jane began dictating while seated in the rocker. Now her voice was louder and her pace faster. Her eyes were closed. Resume at 9:34.)

(Break at 9:58. Jane was well dissociated, hardly being able to recall anything of what she had said. Again sitting down, and with her eyes closed, she resumed in the same rather loud and clear voice at 10:10.)

As you know, at one time it was necessary for the ego to focus exclusively upon outer data, but the channels never closed between the inner self and the ego. The ways for communication between the two have been left open. If they had not been left open, man would have no knowledge at all, nor any hint, of his basic inner existence. There is no real dual state. The inner self will make itself known. For the species this present period is transitory, but the length of this period, if drawn out, could bring about results most unfortunate.

Two main possibilities come to mind. One, a continued lack of acceptance of the inner self could lead to worldwide catastrophe, as the ego runs wild. Two, the inner self, restrained and denied for too long a period, could explosively overwhelm the ego so that existence in the physical field was made most difficult, since the ego is equipped to handle such manipulation. Ego domination must indeed be halted, but it must be replaced with a balance between the outer and inner selves. Other matters briefly mentioned this evening will be more thoroughly discussed then also.
