“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Yesterday while proofreading the Mass Events galleys I got the feeling that that book really bothered me, served as a focal point. [...] Before though, the fact escaped me that Seth had started Mass Events—representing his and my direct attack on official dictums—or so it seemed to me. [...]

Two and a half years ago I wrote in the closing notes for Session 869, in Chapter 10 of Mass Events, that she had finally received from Seth the full title for this book: Dreams, “Evolution,” and Value Fulfillment. Mass Events was published eight months ago, and we have been receiving a steady flow of inquiries as to when Dreams will be issued. [...]

[...] I could sympathize with their writers, though, for each one had communicated with us out of a deep need, and is searching for insight into the creation of a personal and mass reality. [...]

GOOD AND EVIL, PERSONAL AND MASS BELIEFS, AND THEIR EFFECT UPON YOUR PRIVATE AND SOCIAL EXPERIENCE

Heading for the chapter: “Good and Evil, Personal and Mass Beliefs, and Their Effect Upon Your Private and Social Experience.” [...]

[...] All of the dreams people have form a mass dream framework. [...] In such ways, the world’s actions are worked out in mass dream communications that are at the same time public and private.

[...] Using your idea of time, I can only say that when the entire gestalt of consciousnesses that formed a particular earth have formed its reality to the best of their abilities, fulfilling their individual and mass capacities as far as possible, then they lovingly turn over that grid to others, and continue to take part in existences that are not physical in your terms. [...]

(“In a session I’m working with now for Mass Events—the 837th, about the death of our cat, Billy One, a year ago—you said there wasn’t any such thing as a cat consciousness, per se.”³ Seth nodded. [...]

[...] Jane still has on hand the contracts for Mass Events and God of Jane waiting for these to be straightened out: amended with Tam’s promised “superamendment” that’s supposed to protect us in the rights departments, paperback covers, and all the rest; jacket copy, etc. Prentice-Hall even wanted to have Jane sign contracts giving them the right to take money from Mass Events to pay for God of Jane. [...]

[...] I think at the moment that I’ll continue to rise early to get three hours in on Mass Events in the mornings, paint and run errands in the afternoons, and have evenings for either sessions or more work on Mass Events. [...]

(The little I’ve worked with the pendulum tells me my troubles are rooted in money attitudes, as well as the production time I’ve lost on Mass Events for the last two weeks and more. [...]

[...] Part of your personal problem now is because you feel you have cut off the easy flow of creative energy into your painting and into Mass Reality, and even to some extent—on your part, now—because the contracts are unsigned, and the flow in that area momentarily is somewhat impeded. [...]

(Before the session Jane showed me the paper she’d written this afternoon, on the direction she felt that Seth would be taking in Mass Reality. [...]

The mass reader is used to conventional science fiction. [...]

[...] The impact of all of our books goes far beyond, for example, the numbers sold, and it is in both of your natures (with amused irony) to send forth into your worlds books that are in exuberant opposition to its mass beliefs—(much deeper) so you can hardly expect the readership of gothic novels. [...]

The mass best-sellers, for example: would you want to have the beliefs of the authors or the readers? [...]

[...] The devil idea is merely the mass projection of certain fears — mass in that it is produced by many people, but also limited in that there have always been those who rejected this principle.

Some very old religions understood the hallucinatory nature of the devil concept, but even in Egyptian times, the simpler and more distorted ideas became prevalent, particularly with the masses of people. [...]

[...] Within the mass of distortions, however, hidden beneath the dogma there was always a hint of the basic creativity of every effect.

[...] There was one separate group in an area where the Aztecs dwelled at a later date, though the land mass was somewhat different then, and some of the lower cave dwellings at times were under water.

The overall emotional tone or feeling-level of masses of people, through their body connections with the environment, brings about the exterior physical conditions that initiate such an onslaught of natural energy. (Seth describes feeling-tones in the 613th session in Chapter One.) According to the mass emotional conditions, various excesses are built up physically; these are then thrown off into the atmosphere in different form. [...]

[...] The people had individual dreams and hopes, and en masse these represented a regional vision of improvement at many levels. [...]

Some time earlier, local religious organizations had made plans for a mass revival. [...]

The beliefs upon which these plans were based did not correlate, however, with the mass beliefs of the populace, and so the attempt failed. [...]

[...] So inserting this material puts off by one — at least — Seth’s first session for Chapter 8 of Mass Events.

[...] My main reason for presenting the excerpts that follow is the same as it’s been on other occasions: Seth’s material fits into Mass Events very well. [...]

(Pause.) In your realm of reality, there is no real freedom but the freedom of ideas, and there is no real bondage except for the bondage of ideas (intently), for your ideas form your private and mass reality. [...]

In his special theory of relativity, however, Albert Einstein showed that mass is a highly concentrated form of energy. Any object contains energy “on deposit” in its mass, then. The masses of colliding subatomic “particles,” for instance, can be transferred into both energy and new particles. [...]

Ordinarily we think of mass as meaning the bulk and/or weight of an object. [...] An object’s mass is arrived at through dividing its weight by the acceleration caused by gravity.

[...] In Volume 1, Seth devoted much of the 681st session to a discussion of probabilities, or, in sum, All That Is, and interwound Jane’s psychic and physical experiences with that material: “The cellular consciousness experiences itself as eternal … Part of Ruburt’s feeling of massiveness² comes from the mass [life-to-death] experience of the body, existing all at once. [...]

[...] So the center of this thing — whatever it is — is massive in terms of mass.⁸ I don’t know whether this means it’s heavy or not, but it’s tremendous in terms of mass — though it may be very small in size.

[...] At the same time she’s been extremely creative, working on her God of Jane, and the introduction to Mass Events—producing many pages of excellent material for those works. [...]

[...] My only recent concern has been that she not let the sessions go on a regular basis just because I’m working on the notes for Mass Events.

Ruburt was correct in his introductory notes today (for Mass Events)—about the poet’s original, long-forgotten abilities, and his role. [...]

There are both private and mass action-events, all of these being physically materialized within your system. [...] The interwoven working of telepathic communications lends itself to mass patterns. [...]

Such mass materializations gain tremendous emotional force, and seemingly sweep aside any conflicting actions. [...]

^* In Jane/Seth’s The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events, which was published in 1981, I wrote: “Seth maintains that Framework 2, or inner reality, contains the creative source from which we form all events, and that by the proper focusing of attention we can draw from that vast subjective medium everything we need for a constructive, positive life in Framework 1, or physical reality.” Seth has a lot to say about Frameworks 1 and 2 in Mass Events. [...]

[...] They represented the behavior of even the well-meaning people of your society, given an overall set of mass beliefs. [...]

I do not want to go into history here, but to some extent the Catholic church began the mass pattern that ended up putting the individual in such a position, so that the self was trusted least of all. [...]

[...] Those futures in your terms so affect the present, however, that vast confusion would result with any mass knowledge. [...]

[...] I have told you that if you look around you and do not like the world that you see, then it is yourselves individually and en masse that you must change. [...]

[...] This energy, en masse, could change the world in the twinkling of an eye if it were directed constructively. [...]

[...] They were created by the priests and the elite, who made up their own histories to suit their purposes — to hold down the masses, for reasons that I will someday discuss, for they are important. [...]

[...] The elite leave you records and methods, telling you of kings and queens, of gurus and prophets and gods, in whose eyes the masses of the people vanished. [...]

[...] It throbs beyond destiny, even as the masses of those people live beyond the beliefs of those gurus.

(Here, Rob asked if Seth would “shed some light” on why all those masses of people had chosen to allow the eradication of their histories by the elite.)

(Jane has really made an effort to recognize, study, and follow her impulses since Seth began emphasizing them two sessions ago in Mass Events. [...]

[...] Nevertheless, such actions speak only too loudly of your mass beliefs involving the vulnerability of the self and its flesh.

[...] The mass world is formed as the result of individual impulses. [...]

The Christ drama is a case in point, where private and mass dreams were then projected outward into the historical context of time, and then reacted to in such a way that various people became exterior participants—but in a far larger mass dream that was then interpreted in the most literal of physical terms. [...]

(I might as well use this opportunity to point up what I think is an obvious connection between the nuclear mishaps at Three Mile Island, and the mass suicide at Guyana [Jonestown] earlier this year. It could hardly be a coincidence, I remarked to Jane this noon that both mass events had taken place this year, and represented the two poles, or extremes, of mankind’s present belief systems: religion and science. [...]

[...] The probabilities are still surging, of course, and in private and mass dreams people try out all kinds of endings for that particular story.

[...] Physically you would find me a mass smaller than a brown nut, for my energy is so highly concentrated. It exists in intensified mass entangled and intertwined with moment points, perhaps like one infinite cell, existing however in endless dimensions at once (pause), and reaching out through interconnections even from my own reality through others to your room.

Yet in such a small mass these intensities contain memories and experiences, electromagnetically coiled one within the other, through which I can travel, even as I can travel through other selves which I have known and which are a portion of my identity—and even as you, so large and bulky in your size, are still a portion of those memories that exist within my identity, and yet so beautifully unpredetermined. [...]

[...] Within the electrical system, intensity is also responsible for the potentiality, duration and electrical mass, which is a mass of a different sort; a mass that takes up no space, and is not made of matter as you know it, but mass whose thickness is one of varying electrical intensities which form a definite shape, a separate field more or less, an electrical coded counterpart for physical matter.
