[...] In a manner of speaking, some portion of your mental, physical, or spiritual reality is in correspondence with a “like” portion of the universe.

[...] You live then in a personal universe, in which each being of whatever degree comes personally in contact with space and time, alive with meaning, alive as a portion of reality that no other being could or can replace.

These organizations then serve as awakeners or stimulation to inner portions of the self, always providing it with fresh experience. [...]

[...] On the other hand technology brings within your reach the great therapy of music; this activates the inner living cells of your body, stimulates the energy of the inner self and helps to unite the conscious mind with the other portions of your being.

Some of these systems do touch upon legitimate portions of reality, but they all overlook the great individualistic and highly private nature of your dreams, and the fact that you create your own reality.

[...] (Pause.) The source for all of this creativity springs from your own inner identity, which is never completely materialized in flesh, and so you always have unused portions of creativity at your command. [...]

You perceive, however, but a very small portion of these images which you have yourselves created. [...]

[...] Within your own universe you deal with the transformation of action into physical manipulations, but this involves but a small portion of the nature of action, and it is my purpose to familiarize you with action as it exists more or less in its pure form.

Now basically even the physical universe itself is so constructed, but for all practical purposes, as far as general perception and experience is concerned, time and the physical growth development apply, so that we find the ego portion, particularly of the human personality, is to a large extent dependent for its maturity and development upon the amount of time that the physical image has spent within the system.

[...] If certain portions, dominating portions, of both of your personalities are willing to go without, for the sake of what you want, other portions do feel that they are being disregarded, without even token recognition.

If a portion of you feels it does not get treats, you see, it imagines that the whole personality does not consider it worthy of any consideration. [...]

After this there was an inhibiting factor involved, and only a portion of my statement actually came through, you see. [...]

Indeed, if, however, one portion of your personality has not learned from the experience, other portions may well, indeed, learn. And while one portion of your personality is in a period of deep depression, other portions may be highly creative of which you may not be aware in the present, in your terms. [...]

[...] The divisions are illusions and when you wake up to yourself, to your true self, then you are aware of these other portions of your personality. [...]

Each portion of the entity is unique and independent, and through its own beliefs determines what it will accept in terms of influences within its immediate life situation. The great miracle, in fact, is that each consciousness, whatever its degree, is itself and no other, even while in the unending fields of interaction it may be a portion of another — as a city is part of a state, or an individual is part of a family.

[...] In the dreaming condition there is a great interchange of information with these other portions of your selves. [...]

[...] The same happens to other portions of your self at other points in the space-time continuum, but at certain intervals you meet, so to speak. [...]

[...] And also, that most inaccessible, most inward and seemingly most mysterious portion of the inner universe, which you seek, is so a part of you that you are unaware of it even though in it you have your very existence.

You could not afford to identify too completely with such bodies until you learned how to survive within them, so in the dream state (pause) the true processes of life began as these new bodies and earth-tuned consciousnesses saw themselves mentally exercising all portions of the body. [...]

An entity does not “remember” when a portion of it existed within your system. In its time that portion simply is. [...]

This is also responsible for the fact that it is difficult to understand how one personality, while retaining its individuality, can be a portion of more than one entity, and we will have more to say on that subject as we continue with the time concept.

The panic reaction you sometimes imagine helps remind you of the panic in which many people spend whole portions of their lifetimes. [...]

[...] In the dream’s meaning, she chased after him, and in that context you felt one portion of yourself making demands upon another portion that resented the emotional involvement, the emotional outbursts that that portion naturally expressed. [...]

If you have thought that the universe followed a mechanistic model, then you would have to say that each portion of this “cosmic machine” created itself, knowing its position in the entire “future construction.” You would have to say further that each portion came gladly out of its own source individually, neatly tailored to its position, while at the same time that individual source was also as intimately the source of each other individual portion.

I am not saying that the universe is the result of some “psychological machine,” either, but that each portion of consciousness is a part of All That Is, and that the universe falls together in a spontaneous, divine order (intently)—and that each portion of consciousness carries within it indelibly the knowledge of the whole.

[...] On the inside, however, you would be traveling not around or about, but through one portion of the psyche with its reality, into another portion of the psyche with its reality. [...]

[...] On many occasions, however, you have inadvertently tuned in on one of your other streams of consciousness, opened momentarily a channel to those other levels of reality in which other portions of you dwell.

[...] But in the very deep reaches of sleep experience — those, incidentally, not yet touched upon by scientists in so-called dream laboratories — you are in communication with other portions of your own identity, and with the other realities in which they exist.

At the same time, you make this information available to all these other portions of your identity, who dwell in entirely different realities, and you receive from them comparable information. [...]

[...] You actually imagine that the ego is a very weak portion of the self, that it must defend itself against other areas of the self that are far stronger and more persuasive and indeed more dangerous; and so you have trained it to wear blinders, and quite against its natural inclinations.

A portion of you, therefore, is aware of each and every dream encounter and experience. [...]

[...] In the sleeping state you may have constant experience through the years with close associates who may live in another portion of the world entirely, and be strangers to you in the waking state.

The dreaming self as you conceive of it, however, is but a shadow of its own reality, for the dreaming self is a psychological point of reference and, in your terms, [of] continuity, that brings together all portions of your identity. [...]

There are many probable systems of reality, therefore, in which physical data predominates, but such physical probabilities represent but one small portion. [...]

Only a portion of your entire identity is “presently” familiar to you, as you know. [...]
