(On June 5, 1968 John Pitre telephoned Jane from Franklin, LA, seeking answers to three questions: the reasons for John’s uneasiness concerning his wife Peg last week; the reasons for the loss of leg feeling John experiences in hot weather; and data on a pilot, Albert Blevins, who vanished on a flight in a small plane near the Gulf Coast about four years ago, presumably near Franklin.

[...] At times this “seat” becomes too hot to touch. [...] I had wondered at times about the seat becoming too hot, but had taken it for granted that Jane automatically lowered her feet when it became too warm. [...]

(Another question I’d meant to ask but forgot to list, had to do with our failure to do certain things, regardless of how often Seth mentioned them: viz.—using the hot towels, trying for the library, etc. [...]

As far as physical therapy is concerned, if you gave hot water packs—plain towels, or Frank’s gadget—either one—the same or even half the attention you gave the cold water baths, this would now be of excellent immediate benefit.
