“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Following the impressions are the Gallagher’s notes and comments. We went over the material on their return, but some time has passed now before they found time to go over it in detail. Both Gallaghers agreed on answers.)

([The Gallaghers:] “One of the most interesting shops we stopped in was an Army-Navy type store in Greenwich Village. This shop specialized in unusual military type uniforms… jackets that buttoned up the side of the type that possibly an early western constable might wear. Young people were trying them on in the store.” [Note: The Gallaghers also told us that the rage in the village is to wear such uniforms.])

([The Gallaghers:] “There was a green modernistic chair with wooden legs in our room. It was light green. There was also a hobnail-type spread on the bed. No coin appliance.”)

([The Gallaghers:] “No.”)

([The Gallaghers:] “No. [...]

([The Gallaghers:] “A number of places might fit that description.”)

([Bill Gallagher:] “It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.”)

([Bill Gallagher:] “My room number 552 adds up to 12.”)

([Bill Gallagher:] “None that I know of.”)

[...] I typed up Seth’s impressions and gave them to the Gallaghers and together they wrote in their comments. These were returned to us November 4, and this copy is taken from the Gallaghers’ joint comments. There were some small differences in a few results between the Gallaghers’ comments October 28, and in their returned written copy, and this is noted upon by me when it occurs. [...]

(Peg and Bill Gallagher left for Nassau, Monday, October 17, and returned Tuesday, October 25. [...]

(A note by RFB: Jane’s punctuation in her copies of Seth’s Gallagher materials varies at times from the originals—but only in small ways, and not at all in content.)

[...] In one place, page two of the results, nine impressions in a row were correct and highly specific, and these added up to a complete picture of the place where the Gallaghers stayed. Some points might have been legitimate, but were uncheckable; the Gallaghers simply didn’t know.

(During the Seth sessions involved, I felt as if I were actually in a few locations, but these meant nothing to the Gallaghers. [...] Either a partial projection was made to places which were not visited by the Gallaghers on the islands, or these were distortions, highly dramatized.

[...] There was some slight disagreement between the Gallaghers’ written notes and remarks made during conversation about the Seth impressions, which I took down on the spot. [...]

(In the 221st session Seth suggested we postpone our series of object tests with the Gallaghers. At the same time he described the object the Gallaghers were focusing upon in their home outside of Elmira at session time. Jane learned from Peggy Gallagher later in the week that the object was a miniature teapot. [...]

(Bill and Peggy Gallagher visited us this evening, and Seth held a rather short unscheduled session. The Gallaghers sat in on the first part of the session. [...]

(Bill Gallagher doubted that warships were used by merchantmen but Seth told us this was common in those days; all ships had to be armed anyhow as a protection against piracy. [...]

(The object for the 71st envelope experiment was the first draft of a poem Jane and I wrote for Bill Gallagher’s birthday, which fell on Friday, July 1st. [...]

[...] Present were Bill and Peggy Gallagher, Barbara Ingold, Jane and myself. [...]

[...] Jane and Barbara had also helped because of their talk before the arrival of the Gallaghers. [...]

[...] Bill and Peggy Gallagher visited us unexpectedly at about 8:30 PM. [...] I have separate notes on it, showing how Jane expressed voice contact with an entity professing to be a female Gallagher. [...]

(Right after the session began, Seth showed how Jane’s personal subconscious memories had, during the sitting with the Gallaghers, on August 20, distorted the material we received. What actually happened was that Jane’s maternal grandmother tried to get through, but Jane wanted to get Bill’s mother, and so named the entity speaking as a Gallagher. [...]

[...] The Gallaghers’ questions were of a more general nature usually; and many of them had to do with Bill’s family history. [...]

(The following material is a summary of other topics covered in the unscheduled 184th session, witnessed by Bill and Peggy Gallagher. Some of the material was of course obtained while the Gallaghers were present, and was in actuality intermingled with the test data discussed in Part One. [...]

(After the Gallaghers had left Seth told me Bill Gallagher had “great bursts” of energy. [...]

(Bill and Peggy Gallagher, who have witnessed several sessions, visited us this evening, Friday, September 3. Our conversation touched upon many subjects. [...]

(We were not supposed to know where the Gallaghers were to spend their vacation, but Peggy mentioned Nassau last Friday evening. The Gallaghers left Elmira by airplane this morning.

[...] We could only hope that on some of the specific details given by Seth, the Gallaghers had noticed also. [...] in the data, since anything like this would help when we checked this material with the Gallaghers.

[...] Instead most of the session was devoted to Seth’s tuning in on Bill and Peggy Gallagher, who are on vacation this week in Nassau.

(A brief but potent unscheduled session was held Sunday night, with Bill and Peggy Gallagher as witnesses. [...]

(Bill Gallagher asked Seth about a possible operation for his ulcers, although he has been feeling well. [...]

(The Gallaghers left shortly after this. [...]

(It was hoped that in this session Seth would give impressions concerning the Gallagher’s vacation.

[...] Now, we will speak for a brief time on some general matters while we make preparations for the Gallagher material.

These are impressions dealing with the Gallaghers. [...]

[...] At one of our favorite spots we met the Gallaghers, Bill and Peggy. [...] The Gallaghers were tired and planned to leave soon also.

[...] Bill Gallagher was quite excited. [...] As far as I know neither Jane or I have come across such specific information; certainly we have never discussed it with the Gallaghers.

[...] The second point concerns the main subject matter of the session, which evolved from a question I asked Seth about the Gallagher’s cottage on Seneca Lake. [...]

[...] I recognized it as mine, or one I will do, of Bill Gallagher. I have been thinking over ways to do portraits of both Bill Gallagher and Bill Macdonnel.

[...] The Gallaghers visited us Saturday evening, December 2. I did not see them arrive, but witnessed their departure. [...] As Bill Gallagher walked down the hall away from us upon departing, I saw that he wore a long black coat with I believe a hood upon it—a garment quite like that he wore in the vision, and one I possessed no special knowledge of in his wardrobe.

[...] It showed a life-size, full-face figure of Bill Gallagher wearing a long dark coat, as he stood against a somewhat stylized outdoor background of pyramid shapes in bright colors—either tempera or acrylics.

(Bill and Peggy Gallagher visited us this evening, and Seth came through later in the evening. Before this however we had the time to go over the three sessions in which Seth dealt with the Gallaghers while they were on vacation in Puerto Rico; these are sessions 199, 200, and 201.

[...] Jane has made copies of the clairvoyant material from the three sessions involving the Gallaghers; they are to write in their account of what actually transpired after each of Seth’s predictions or statements. [...] We are most grateful for the wholehearted cooperation of the Gallaghers.

(As Seth stated in the 201st session, Jane’s psychological time experience of October 22, involving the Gallaghers, did prove to be quite legitimate; along with some less striking psy-time events Jane experienced during the week Peg and Bill were in Puerto Rico.

[...] Jane and I met the Gallaghers accidentally at a dancing establishment last Saturday evening. [...] I took care to slip the wet label in a coat pocket when neither Jane or the Gallaghers were looking, and as it developed Jane had no idea of the test object for the session.

(Our encountering the Gallaghers last Saturday evening led to the strange unscheduled 192nd session, incidentally. In that session Bill Gallagher asked Seth about the possibility of locating artifacts in the waters of Seneca Lake. [...]

[...] The house can be our own, the several people of course Jane and me and Bill and Peggy Gallagher; the Gallaghers were with us Saturday night when I picked the label as a test object.

(Witnesses were Peter Murtough, who arrived Monday, July 24, from Chula Vista, CA, and Bill and Peggy Gallagher. [...]

My heartiest welcome to our young friend, and to our late-coming Jesuit (Bill Gallagher, who arrived just as the session began), and of course, our cat lover (Peg).

[...] The exchange between Seth and Bill Gallagher developed because last week, one evening, Jane succeeded in waking both Bill and Peg between 3 and 4 AM.

In the dream (of March 29) Bill Gallagher offers to take you out to dinner, and you say you have good food at home. [...] Bill Gallagher sees a dog-eat-dog world, and, as mentioned earlier, animals have an entirely different meaning to Bill.

(I should note here that last Friday evening we were visited by the Gallaghers and Sue Watkins. [...]

(Then while doing the dishes before this evening’s session, Jane said she “got” that Friday night was the “playout” of my dreams involving Bill Gallagher and Sue, which had taken place separately. [...]

(The Gallaghers believe that the following impression, given by Seth in the same session as applying to Dr. Instream, applies instead to them. Jane gave the data after the break which had presumably ended the Gallagher test:)

(October 20, 11:30 AM to Noon: Jane tried unsuccessfully to speak to Bill Gallagher. [...] The Gallaghers said this is quite possible, but of course could say little else about such a general impression.)

[...] In October my first book was coming out, and Peg Gallagher, a reporter for the Elmira Star Gazette, interviewed me. [...]

[...] Instead, we would ask Seth if he could “tune in” on the Gallaghers during their vacation. [...]

We were in the middle of a Seth session and Seth was giving his impressions of the Gallaghers’ trip. [...]
