[...] Jane has been spending most of her time lately using the pendulum, making notes, reading old sessions on herself and myself, etc, but presently I see all this activity as repeating old rhythms. [...] I think she came up with some new insights lately, yet she found hints of even those later, in old sessions; we’d just forgotten them.)

[...] I suggest two sessions a week—one on thematic material, the book, or questions you might have in areas of your interest. The other a private session if necessary or desirable—or otherwise to deal with the subjects above.

There is more in this session than you realize, if you put it together, for the creative abilities are themselves creative, spontaneous, exuberant, by their nature unpredictable.

(Once again, I tried to get through to her that the sessions or her own work could offer ways to get through that period, or at least offer greater insights into it. [...] Lately I’ve more or less given up bugging her to have sessions, since it seemed that that activity was beyond her means at this time. I also tried to keep in mind Seth’s recent reference to her own natural rhythms, thinking that if she didn’t want sessions just now, that might actually be part of the healing process.

(I’d planned to mow grass for a few minutes after the session—it was dusk by now—but I had to wait. [...] I told her the session had lasted for 27 minutes, which pleased her, “since I didn’t think I could get two words out of me to begin with.” [...]

[...] Once again I asked her if she wanted to have a session, or do some dictation on her own. [...]

(After supper Jane said she felt “loads of material from Seth” about our discussion this afternoon, and that it would take up not one but many sessions. [...] “It’s weird,” Jane said, “really weird....I was aware of those lapses again as soon as I said I’d have a session, and I wasn’t before. [...]

[...] Before the session I’d told Jane that I’d always felt that in our relationship my own contributions were doomed to fall short of what she wanted and expected from me —that I’d always felt I couldn’t give all she needed from a marriage partner. [...] One small example: As usual, if it wasn’t for my own demands and suggestions, this session wouldn’t even exist—whereas to my way of thinking Jane should have demanded to have it on her own. (She wasn’t too clear as to what she was panicky about, but as we talked I began to understand that she was re-experiencing the same round of fears that she had many times in the past, and that many of these private sessions have been devoted to over the years: her mother, her need for love, her fears of abandonment, the conflicts involving success and the psychic work, our relationship, and so forth, if anything’s left. [...]

[...] As we begin this group of sessions, then, express your love as warmly as possible, in gesture and in words. [...]

[...] It is Wednesday, January 3 as I finish this session. [...] Many elements in Tam’s dream tallied with events depicted in this session, bearing out Seth’s contention that Tam already sensed the conflicts over Adventures, etc. [...]

[...] I saw at once that if valid they also meant Jane must shelve her projected book, Adventures in Consciousness, and concentrate on things like Rich Bed, the Dialogues (poetry), and, perhaps, let Seth do his own thing in sessions. [...]

The creativity was in the sessions. [...]

(John B. was also a witness to the 366th session, which dealt with the wife of John Pitre to some extent, multiple sclerosis, etc. I have to correct an error on page 134 in that session. [...]

Inevitably, the session Jane delivers for Seth next Monday evening will be somewhat different from the one she could produce tonight. [...]

(On December 27, the night of our anniversary, Jane held an unplanned session for young married friends of ours. [...] I taped the session on the recorder I’d given Jane for Christmas; our friends are to send us a transcript of the tape.

[...] Perhaps the session made me feel even more discouraged—this has happened before—or the evident errors in living on our parts that seemingly have been responsible for the whole situation over the years, certainly seemed beyond the reach of any medical treatment. (Actually Jane sat with her eyes closed from 9 PM until 9:10, waiting to see if a session would develop. [...]

(Once again Jane had felt the cone effect—not very strongly—mentioned in the last couple of sessions. [...]

[...] We viewed this idea and the cone effect as Jane’s efforts to construct methods to explain the sessions’ data on levels close to consciousness.

[...] Your egos are being well educated, since they are aware of the sessions, and this will be of great benefit to you when other coordinates come into your perception.

(Jane was also concerned because of what she considers the poor session of September 9, when she was so affected by outside conditions. She was not nervous before tonight’s session, however.

2. Seth delivered the 823rd session for Mass Events on February 27, 1978—over two years ago. See Note 2 for that session, in Chapter 4, wherein I wrote that as a physical principle the uncertainty principle of quantum mechanics “sets definite limits to the accuracy possible in measuring both the motion and position of atoms and elementary particles simultaneously,” and that “there is an interaction between the observer (with his instruments) and the object or quality being measured.”

[...] In Dreams he’s already said (in Session 909) that the human species has an “amazing interplay between genetic preciseness and genetic freedom,” and (in Session 910) that “your genetic structure reacts to each thought that you have, to the state of your emotions, to your psychological climate.” [...]

[...] Jane grew very relaxed as she sat there at that quiet hour—yet she wanted to hold the session anyhow; she called me early; she felt Seth around….)

(Seth began talking about the inner senses almost as soon as the sessions began, in December of 1963. By the 20th session he had mentioned many of them. By the 60th session he had gone into some detail on 9 inner senses, 11 basic laws of the inner universe, and 3 properties of physical matter, along with the many other subjects included in the sessions. [...] On the one hand I didn’t want her to feel I was pressuring her for a test every session; on the other hand I wondered whether she would think I was taking it easy on her if I skipped the test. So I thought I would see what developed in the session.

(After the session I told Jane that my pendulum had told me that my tooth was bothering me because I was worried about her teeth these weeks. [...]

( This session was unusual; even though I have only seen Seth on a few occasions, I noticed that Jane kept her eyes open much more than usual. [...]

We will be treating this same topic in our own sessions...imagine the ill plant as being able to use sunlight more effectively during the day and continuing to make use at night of that energy which has been absorbed. [...]

(We can’t remember anything else, but the session was short—only five to six minutes—and probably little if anything was added. [...]
