[...] By using simple session notes only, we can get that next book to the public in a minimum of time, and it should be published shortly after this second volume of “Unknown” Reality — perhaps within just a few months.

Also, Jane has long since completed The World View of Paul Cezanne: A Psychic Interpretation, which was published in 1977; and she’s finished The Afterdeath Journal of an American Philosopher: The World View of William James — both books growing out of the world-view material given by Seth in “Unknown” Reality.

[...] Later in the session Jane felt that Seth was taking her on a guided tour of Jerusalem, way back in the first century A.D. None of this consisted of book work, though, so the session remains in our files along with other material that we hope to publish one day.

[...] I mailed the finished manuscripts for Mass Events and God of Jane to our publisher on July 2 and 18 respectively. [...]

The head of the Subsidiary Rights department at Prentice-Hall had informed Jane that four copies of the film option contract were in the mail.⁴ By the first of August we’d had our attorney check, sign, and notarize the contracts, Jane and I had signed them, and I’d returned them to our publisher. [...]

[...] Early in October I returned Mass Events to our publisher once more; it was ready to be set in type. [...]

When they’re published the reader will be able to see that she touched upon her physical hassles in Chapter 17 of God of Jane, for example, and referred to them in her Introduction for Mass Events. She didn’t actively object when I began to mention them more extensively in the notes for Dreams. But as Seth said in Volume 2 of “Unknown” Reality, while discussing her goals in life: “The power of his (Ruburt’s) will is indeed awesome, and he is just beginning to feel it.” [...]

(About the letter business: Yesterday Jane had called Tam, and learned to our complete surprise that last August Pocket Books had published a paperback edition of the second Seven book: The Further Education, etc. [...]

(Continuing the story of narcotics in Elmira as predicted by Seth in the 63rd session, June 17, 1964, there was published in the Elmira paper for Saturday, Aug. [...]

[...] Ruburt’s own array of writings, published and unpublished, should testify that he needs no added creative outlet.

1. For those who are interested in publishing matters: Like counterpoint endeavors, Jane’s Dialogues and Adventures have become interwound with her Seth books. [...]

Jane finished Dialogues last year (in March 1973), and now (in June 1974) is halfway through the final draft of Adventures. I’m to finish illustrations for each of them by the end of this year, if possible, since Prentice-Hall will publish both books in 1975. [...]

[...] On that day Jane received a letter from Prentice-Hall, outlining plans for publishing the Seth material. [...]

[...] However, Jane and I did not see the article until the day after tonight’s session; note that this session is held on the same day the article was published. [...]

[...] After that will come the job of typing the finished manuscript for this massive two-volume work; I do not know when I’ll have it ready for our publisher. And therein lies another reason for our somber moods: Our dear friend and editor, Tam Mossman, almost certainly will not see Dreams through the publishing process. [...]

As I finish this note—and Dreams—I believe it quite safe to predict that whenever this book is published the reader will find that the general situation in the Middle East is essentially the same: The consciousnesses of the countries involved, then, will continue to resist all outside overtures to “sanity” that do not help perpetuate the exploration of their long-term goals. [...]

5. Jane has worked with Tam ever since he encouraged her to write The Seth Material 13 years ago; that book was published a year later, in 1970. [...]

[...] He who does not move can make no errors; and he felt he had made a severe error in allowing Fell to publish the book. [...]

[...] Not through fear that a book would not be published necessarily, but through fear that the, publication would mean nothing. [...]

[...] Much of the material in it later will be published.

Again, in different fashion the material in Adventures will be published later, as will the dream material. [...]

[...] We’d like to publish much of it, even though it’s hardly all flattering, and even though some of it, because of our ordinary human limitations, may not be very useful in everyday life. [...]

[...] I work around these creative outpourings by ministering to my wife, running our house and the many errands connected with our daily living, handling our publishing affairs, seeing visitors—expected and unexpected—and trying to answer at least some of the mail, which is threatening to accumulate beyond control. [...]

[...] And her advice is reinforced by published material I’ve collected lately for our files.

I also felt that the chronology of presentation for both Seth’s and Jane’s books was being distorted: Because I was so slow in finishing my work on Volume 2 of “Unknown” Reality, Jane published her Psychic Politics first, for example, when the reverse order should have prevailed. [...]

[...] (However, the decision to publish in two volumes, made when “Unknown” Reality was almost finished, caused me to rewrite most of my original notes for it with that new presentation in mind.)

[...] At the same time, I know that Jane feels a responsibility to “publish her results,” and make them available to others. [...]

[...] Both of us, correctly it developed, attributed the crying feeling to regret at some of our past efforts that were not as successful as we had hoped they would be, regarding using the material to help others, to get it published, etc.

He took it for granted that the material would not be financially acceptable to a publisher, because he sensed this was Fell’s opinion. [...]

[...] Mass Events was published eight months ago, and we have been receiving a steady flow of inquiries as to when Dreams will be issued. [...]

[...] This all means, obviously, that we do need help from others—whether they be lawyers, doctors, nurses, publishers, or whatever, and this way we stay in contact with the rest of our world. [...]

(On January 23 I mailed to our publisher Jane’s Introduction for Sue Watkins’s Conversations With Seth.

(Yesterday Jane received from her publisher the galley proofs for her book of poetry, Dialogues of the Soul and Mortal Self in Time.¹ The story of that work’s creation is interwound throughout Personal Reality.

With a few years’ further development, and if developments continue smoothly in your own personality, you could also do well as a particular kind of agent, dealing with writers of psychic phenomena, because of your understanding of the subject, and because of the larger knowledge of the business publishing field that you would have by that time.

Your salesman’s ability would allow you to convince publishers to buy such material. [...]
