[...] I anticipated hearing what Seth would say about some of the probable paths since taken by the photograph’s three subjects. [...] In that session, Seth told us that the 12 year old Jane in the photo under discussion was to become probable to the one I eventually met and married.] Beside whatever Seth could tell us about her parents, I was curious to know whether the Jane who was shown at the age of 3 might be — or was destined to become — another probable Jane.⁶)

In Appendix 4 for Session 685, Jane wrote of her attempts while in the dream state to sort out multidimensional, probable data of her own, and of how they collected for processing in sidepools of experience “before flowing into the ‘official pool of consciousness.’” Then, she added a bit later, through bypassing direct neurological activity, and using the “side pockets or pools where data are still unprocessed … you can pick up several other strands of consciousness ‘at once,’ though retention may be difficult.”

Now the members of your so-called probable class are involved, in your terms, at precisely this point with the same experiment. Therefore, of course, they consider this the probable class. [...]

[...] People that you have never met physically and probably will never meet, in those terms, but you are involved often as apprentices in joint endeavors and it is time that you become aware to some extent of your relationship. [...]

[...] Now you need not close your eyes but if you listen to your own inner voice, and if you allow yourself the freedom, and if you understand the nature of probabilities, then as I speak and as you listen you can indeed, to some extent, perceive the other reality, the specific reality of which I am speaking in which you also exist as a group. Now: Dictation: As per Ruburt’s notes, each system of reality is indeed surrounded by its probable realities, though any one of those “probable realities” can be used as the hub, or core reality; in which case all of the others will then be seen as probable. [...]

[...] Taking that for granted, however, any given reality system will be surrounded by its probability clusters. [...] Time and space need not be connected, however — that is, the attractions that exist between a reality and any given probability cluster may have nothing to do with time and space at all. The closest probability satellite to any given reality may, for example, be in an entirely different universe altogether. [...]

[...] Some intelligent beings have visited your planet, finding not the world you know but a probable one.⁴ There are always feedbacks between probable systems. [...]

Ruburt is learning to minutely experience — change that — Ruburt is learning to minutely alter his experience with the probable atomic correlations that exist quite as validly as does the particular kind of atomic integrity that you generally recognize. The old man changed probabilities, you see, moving into another, and your thought patterns deal with probabilities all the time, at one level, as your c-e-l-l-s (spelled) do at another—so perhaps that will help you see more clearly the connections between health and illness, and the directions that your thoughts take.

All probabilities exist first in the imagination.

[...] Those responsible for such a destruction would have destroyed only reality as they knew it, in the probable system. Other probable earths and other probable races of mankind coexist, and you are apart of these also. [...]

(This question refers to a discussion the four of us had at first break, after Seth had given us data on any possible destruction of our earth, the various probable systems involving other earths, etc. We had wondered what course the entities would take who had manifested on our particular probability-earth, in the event of its literal destruction.)

There will also be changes in any case in her department, if probabilities continue as I see them now. [...]

Any event that you would consider disastrous to your race, brought about by the race itself, would be used in another probable system to avoid the same sort of error. [...]

4. In Seth Speaks alone there is much material on probabilities that I could cite in connection with this session. One of my favorite sessions, however, is the 566th in Chapter 16, where Seth discusses the “profound psychological interconnections” involving probable pasts and futures, dreams, telepathy, present abilities, suggestion, and related subjects. He also produces lines like, “As you sit reading this book in your present moment of time, you are positioned in the center of a cosmic web of probabilities that is affected by your slightest mental or emotional act.”

[...] With memory, however, mental projections into the future were of course also possible so that man could plan his activities in time, and foresee probable results: “Ghost images” of the future probabilities always acted as mental stimuli for physical explorations in all areas, and of all kinds.

The school and the store were not in the infant’s experience, for in that probability the family moved away. [...] You must understand that your own past exists as vitally as does your present — but your probable pasts and presents exist in the same manner. [...]

[...] The body, as mentioned (in the 685th session) is an electromagnetic pattern, poised in a web of probabilities, experienced as corporal at an intersection point in space and time.

[...] There are gradations in matter as there are gradations in your color, realities that blend one into the other, and probable systems in which various representations, reflections, shadows and echoes, all probable creations of any given self, mature.

[...] This symbol explains the workings of the probable system, all possible variations being formed, and each creatively bringing forth another.

You are also receiving information from other probable selves. [...]

[...] Probable selves can be viewed by myself and others like me, for we see your reality in all of its dimensions, and you view it from the small present forms that you know. [...]

[...] Your dream about Loren did involve a probability. [...] In one probability he did. [...]

Probabilities always go off from points of psychological tension here, of course, and so they have a psychological validity for the individual involved in the world that you know. [...]

[...] When we are working on such a project here (in your reality), we are working on probable books also, and those are as real as your official one. In ways too difficult to explain now, your probabilities are connected by certain themes, intents, purposes. [...] So we have been working on a probable “Unknown” Reality — in fact, on many probable “Unknown” Realities. Not mere versions, but variations.

Now: An artist does the same thing in different terms, when he or she imagines the probable versions that a painting, or a book or a sculpture, for example, might take. (Pause.) The artist does not usually understand, however, that those probable art productions do literally exist; he perceives only the final, physically chosen work. Speaking simply, some of us are able to hold intact the nature of our own identities while following patterns of probable realities in which we also play a part.

In your terms I see not only greater chunks of time than you do, but I can to some considerable extent view the probable actualizations of events and times.

3. Following Seth’s material in these paragraphs, then, there are of course a number of other Janes and Robs busily living out their lives in a cluster of associated probable realities — and all of those Janes and Robs are just as real to Seth as we are. [...]

The motive power of the universe and of each particle or wave or person within it is the magnificent thrust toward creative probabilities, and the tension that exists, the exuberant tension, that exists “between” probable choices and probable events. [...]

[...] Avenues of probabilities are closed bit by bit until you do indeed live — if you follow such precepts — in a closed mental environment, in which it seems you are powerless. [...]

[...] In the case of the Jonestown tragedy, for example, all doors toward probable effective action seemed closed. [...]

[...] Only people who trust their spontaneous beings and the altruistic nature of their impulses can be consciously wise enough to choose from a myriad of probable futures the most promising events — for again, impulses take not only [people’s] best interest into consideration, but those of all other species.

There are many probable systems of reality, therefore, in which physical data predominates, but such physical probabilities represent but one small portion. [...]

God, therefore, is first of all a creator, not of one physical universe but of an infinite variety of probable existences, far more vast than those aspects of the physical universe with which your scientists are familiar. [...] He is a part of all probabilities.

[...] If you will try to accept the idea that your own existence is multidimensional, that you dwell within the medium of infinite probabilities, then you may catch a slight glimpse of the reality that is behind the word “god,” and you may understand why it is almost impossible to capture a true understanding of that concept in words.

[...] It is the probable God-drama that you choose to perceive. [...]

[...] (No real pause.) In other dimensions, or if you prefer at other stages of development, the multidimensional personality is aware of its prime identity, and is also aware simultaneously of personality offshoots that it has sent into many realities, into probable systems, as it pursues all of the probable acts and creations inherent in its nature.

[...] As far as your own system is concerned, I have told you that the past ever changes, and here we enter the realm of probabilities; for at any point in any man’s life, where a decision was made, the other probable alternative actions were also taken.

As we have to some extent mentioned earlier, here we have travel through probable actions, where each conceivable action is experienced. [...]

It goes without saying that these are not haphazard developments, and that in pursuing literally infinities of probable actions, the prime identity has definite purposes in mind. [...]

There are unlimited varieties of experience open to you after death, all possible, but some less probable than others, according to your development. [...]

[...] Or you may enter another system of probability entirely; and this is quite apart from a reincarnational existence. [...]

[...] These will choose a system of probabilities for their next main endeavor.

PARALLEL MAN, ALTERNATE MAN, AND PROBABLE MAN: THE REFLECTION OF THESE IN THE PRESENT, PRIVATE PSYCHE.

[...] As an analogy, the innate knowledge of probabilities that Seth postulates here may be related to the brain in the same way that memory evidently “happens” throughout its parts, instead of being localized in just one of them.

[...] “But I wasn’t necessarily thinking that the insurance probabilities wouldn’t work out.” [...]

(Seth’s comments re war and probabilities evidently mean that in his view Jane and I have moved into a probable reality where nuclear war will not happen. [...]

(Just before the session, we saw a newscast of a congressional committee in Washington, with some well-known scientists testifying as to the probable aftereffects of nuclear war—how the instigator would also eventually destroy itself even if the attacked never fired a retaliatory strike at all. [...]

[...] In terms of probabilities the world is both saved and lost. [...]

3. Probable Man ¹

[...] Many individuals show variations that actually represent future developments of consciousness; we’re experimenting with these probabilities … There are actually species of consciousness, but we don’t recognize them as such. [...]

(12:19.) “Some of the experiments with man-animals didn’t work out along our historic lines, but the ghost memories of those probabilities still linger in our biological structure, and in our terms can be activated according to circumstances.

1. One might say that Seth himself provided for Jane’s material here when, back in the 681st session, he talked about parallel events, alternate realities, and probable selves and worlds.

[...] You are aware, for example, of some probable realities. You choose which probable acts you want to actualize in your system. You follow other probable acts through in the dream state. [...]

[...] Probable realities are only probable to you because you are not aware of them.

Somewhere during this time he will go into a deeply protected area of sleep, where he is at the threshold to other layers of reality and probabilities. [...]

As there are portions of reality that you do not consciously perceive, and other systems of probability of which you are not consciously aware, so also are there aspects of primary godhood that you cannot at this moment comprehend. There are, therefore, probable gods, each one reflecting in its way the multidimensional aspects of a prime identity so great and dazzling that no one reality form or particular kind of existence could contain it.

[...] When your own thoughts have a form and reality, when they have validity even in other systems of reality of which you are unaware, then it is not difficult to understand why other systems of probabilities are also affected by your own thoughts and emotions — nor why the actions of the probable gods are not affected by what happens in other dimensions of existence.

[...] The term ‘All That Is’ can be used as a designation to include all of those probable gods in all of their manifestations.
