Now there are books programming out-of-body activity; millions of you are told that when you leave your body you will meet this demon or that demon, or this or that angry god. [...] Not because you should do it, but because you desire it … It is a great creative challenge that you can throw down to yourselves from your future selves.

[...] You pretend to agree that it does; we meet in no place of space or time. The true meetings that take place here have nothing to do with the room or the people that you think you are. [...]

[...] Now on Thread A, Self A would not be aware, in his present, of the ‘future’ selves on the other threads. Only by meeting one of these other selves can he become aware of the nature of this strange structure through which he is traveling.

Now before I bid you a fond good evening let me remind you that those of you who are ready can meet in the out-of-body state and remember your experiences. [...]

[...] They took Seth’s ideas with them, however, and with considerable interest Jane and I thought of them as not only looking for truths but meeting counterparts. [...] According to Seth’s views, such encounters with other portions of their whole selves would be inevitable.

I’ve also helped in the construction, so to speak, of Ruburt’s [psychic] library,⁴ and I hope that he will be able to meet me there, in surroundings in which he feels confident and at home, and yet on neutral ground. (Smiling:) He does not want my apparition, you might say, to intrude upon a physical living room, particularly, yet he wants to meet me (much louder, leaning forward) in an out-of-the-way place.⁵

[...] Until he understood the inward order of events⁸ he would not be able to meet me there — so the library can serve us both in that regard.

5. Jane has yet to see Seth’s apparition, however, or to meet him in her library or any other “out-of-the-way place.” [...]

You are all portions of your own higher identity, your own multidimensional selves. Now these selves know how to heal, and in the dream state they will indeed do so if you allow them to. [...]

[...] But when you cannot do this for yourself, and when your own misconceptions hold you back from using your own abilities, then there are others who can reawaken your own energies and direct them to your advantage; who can meet you and speak with you when you are in more auspicious states than the one you usually call conscious— When you are at your most creative and alert, in other words, when you are asleep. (I told Jane about the very excellent dream I’d had about her last night—in which I’d seen her fully recovered—walking, her hair black again, shopping, going out, meeting friends who exclaimed over her great progress. [...]

Many times people at the point of desperation seize upon such ideas, and often they are valuable because they relieve people of hidden guilts; they are not “to blame” for their difficulties—but certain elements outside of their own selves are the culprits. [...]

[...] When you begin to get to the other side, continuing our analogy, and with good luck and perseverance there will be someone else on the other side constructing their own bridge to meet yours. [...] However the two will meet and merge. [...]

[...] Now, I do not like the term ascending selves. [...]

Selves that ascend like stairs... [...]

[...] to get between any feelings for my wife who is at this moment even more important to me than any of my other selves.”)

(In ESP class last night Jane told all of her loyal students, some of whom have been with her almost from the time she began holding such meetings in the summer of 1967, that class was suspended until we’d moved into the hill house and settled down a bit — however long that might take.

[...] Give us a moment … Because you are usually so worried about preserving what you think of as your identity, we use terms like reincarnational selves or counterparts. [...]

[...] While you think in such terms, however, I must speak of reincarnational selves and counterparts, because you are afraid that if you climb out of what you think your identity is, then you will lose it.

[...] That infinite self appears as a series of finite selves in your reality.

Now because the spacious present exists, in other terms, these selves are actually in all places at one time. [...]

[...] The immediately conscious selves however do progress in their realization. [...]

(Humorously.) I am overjoyed to be the self that you know (smile), and I do indeed take pleasure in that existence, and in meeting its responsibilities. [...]

Creativity connects waking and dreaming reality, and is in itself a threshold in which the waking and dreaming selves merge to form constructs that belong equally to each reality. [...]

It is the ego or directive consciousness behind all personified aspects of the subconscious; in dormant fashion however, and contrary to Jung’s propositions, within the subconscious and in those personified aspects of it will be found remnant memory personalities of past reincarnated selves. [...]
