Marian said frankly that the idea made her “scary” so we did not insist, and rarely mentioned this material unless she brought up the subject herself.

Since Marian is a deeply religious person also, Seth tied his ideas on positive thinking and suggestion in with the religious theme, stressing the positive use of faith.

Do you feel lost in the face of all these ideas of entities and probable selves?

(9:47.) The idea of a simple job attracts you because it separates your ideas of art from money—but in order to content you it could not involve money at all, for even commercial art brings you to the matter of the artistic ideal and its practical presentation.

These ideas merge with conventional beliefs about age, so that it seems you must take stock.

And in that area, you should also forget any idea of sex roles in conventional terms.

That area has also suffered because of your joint ideas of what artists should be like, and what men and women who happen to be artists should be like.

Only after such a basis will the idea of reincarnation achieve its natural validity, and only when it is understood that the subconscious, certain layers of it, is a link between the present personality and past ones, will the theory of reincarnation be accepted as fact.

It is imperative that Ruburt throw considerable energy into his idea for classes; whether in writing or in psychic matters, that all available, practically available time and effort be given here to such an endeavor; that it not be adopted halfheartedly.
The dream book should be concentrated upon, and the other ideas he has in mind worked up.

Your beliefs so structure your experience individually and en masse, however, that evidential material contrary to those ideas shows itself but seldom, or in distorted or exaggerated form.

So women, accepting these ideas often, seek for a situation in which they too can feel free to express their sexual desires openly, whether or not any love is involved.

In so distorting your ideas of sex, you further limit the great capacities of human loyalty, which is always connected with love and love’s expression.

You need the idea of change—an idea that Ruburt once used to find exciting. Change your living room furniture, your bedroom, your kitchen or whatever you can—simply to symbolically and slowly break you in to the idea of change, and to break up the invisible bulk of mental patterns that are connected with your present state.

As Jane wrote in Chapter 1 of The World View of Paul Cézanne: A Psychic Interpretation (1977): “Seth maintains that each of us forms a psychic world view, composed of our own ideas, feelings, and beliefs, as we encounter our private corner of reality.”
[...]
[...]
“I don’t like to talk about it,” she said, “but I’ve been potting around with the idea—getting some thoughts about something like that.
[...]
[...]
She’s made no effort to learn to write with her better-functioning left hand, as I suggested she do a couple of months ago, so I’ve dropped that idea.
[...]
[...]
I won’t claim that residues of it may not be buried within my psyche (and within Jane’s), but it’s very difficult to stay mad when one agrees with the simple but most basic and profound idea that you do create your own reality.
