“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

1. Seth is telling us a great deal here, on a subject Jane and I have done little to explore with him. [...]

[...] Next I asked him: “Is part of your psyche alive on earth now?” The answer was very strange to us at the time: “Very small part. [...]

When I asked him in the same session about his evocative use of “fragment,” Seth replied: “That is an original term with me, as far as I know.” [...]

[...] We haven’t tried to pursue the matter with him.

[...] While the Roman Catholic Church gave him a powerful, cohesive belief system (pause), for many reasons those beliefs shifted so that the division between man and God became too great. [...] Man’s sense of inquiry led him, then, to begin to paint more natural portraits and images. [...]

Her relative, David told us now, had informed him that Mrs. Steffans had suffered bouts of deep depression while living in the hill house. [...]

[...] If no one had seen Christ, there were pictures of him.

As he is using it, the word “responsive” will give him freedom to respond as he wishes to the world in general, so that the two of you can make decisions. [...]

Ruburt felt it would be more difficult for him, so he applied the additional discipline. [...]

Ruburt’s own abilities he considered represented even the furthest reaches of the creative realm, therefore putting him in twice as inferior a position. [...]

[...] When Ruburt does not feel ashamed to meet guests, it will seem to him that this is because he is so physically improved. [...]

[...] I thought I’d include a few quotations from him on both issues, while eliminating portions of the session that deal with other matters entirely. [...]

[...] Perhaps Seth likes some of those other versions of ourselves more than he does us. ( I didn’t ask him if I was right, though.) It might even be that his favorite Jane inhabits one probable reality, his favorite Rob another. [...]

5. Jane has yet to see Seth’s apparition, however, or to meet him in her library or any other “out-of-the-way place.” [...]

[...] Jane has met Alan Koch but twice physically, yet feels allied with him. [...]

[...] We wish him well. [...]

[...] Seth hadn’t commented, and I didn’t ask him.)

[...] I told him the blotchiness had lightened since I’d been there today. [...] I asked him to see if the latest brand of liquid vitamins my wife is taking could be switched back to her old one, for she dislikes the new ones intensely. [...]

[...] A friend helped him move it out to the garage; then on Monday, May 18, I helped him move Miss Callahan’s divan into his apartment.

[...] Conceivably at times during a social evening several glasses of wine, under certain conditions bringing him quite naturally to the same sort of state that he goes through and passes beyond in these sessions, could lead him to misinterpret his data, or get his signals crossed.

The poetry is also steadily improving, and this inner increased spontaneity, that are the results directly of intuitional powers, are flowing over even into his paintings, allowing him to use knowledge that had not been previously available to him.

[...] Since my friend of downstairs knew his car must be blocking mine, perhaps I received a telepathic communication from him upon arising this morning. [...]

[...] Rob and I in living room area; I told him about the mailman and all of a sudden I had the odd and striking feeling as I walked around my table that I passed through a “hole of nothingness”—and passed out of it again immediately. [...]

If Ruburt will read the last two or three sessions given for him, then I will not need to repeat them this evening. [...]

[...] In the other sequence you were a woman and our friend over here (Natalie) was a very unfaithful suitor and you believed him implicitly and he left you, as the saying goes, in the lurch. [...]

(Seth paused, so I asked him a second question from M.H.: “Is experiencing inner vibrational touch akin to reading an aura?”^*)

[...] Some of these occasions occurred fairly early in our sessions, when Ruburt was worried about spontaneous trances, so after making my presence known to him, I acquiesced to his decision at the time. [...]

(10:35.) Perhaps reincarnations are over for a given individual, for example, yet within him is still some sense of yearning for the natural earth with which he has so often been involved. [...]

[...] She is quite aware, therefore, of his decision not to buy the [Markle] house.⁵ In her level of reality, she was aware of the fact that Joseph wanted the house strongly; that one portion of him thought of possessing a large home, even though this would require upkeep and attention that another part of him did not want to provide because he felt it would take too much time from his painting and our work.

[...] It does show, however, that one portion of Joseph’s mother, the portion connected to her son, still relates to him in a certain fashion. [...]

Asia was where you saw him though he was in many other places, traveling in his middle years (Jane dictates:) doing penance for his sins according to the customs of the age.

[...] Did I see him passing by?”)

[...] As I did she remarked, “Oh oh, I can feel him, he’s gathering himself.” [...]

[...] She seems to think the actual episode of Father Darren chasing her around the bed when she was in that hotel room with him as a teen-ager is changed, whereas I thought Seth meant that the original event remained, but that her psychological understanding of what had transpired changed a good deal. [...]

(Seth didn’t mention this in his short session of Wednesday, January 11, and I neglected to ask him about it.)

[...] He also looked much younger and more self-possessed than I’d ever seen him be.

[...] He appeared younger and more vital than you had ever known him — indeed, transformed in a fashion. [...]

Donald may be so terrified of making choices, so indecisive, that he constructs an imaginary superbeing who orders him to do thus and so. [...]

[...] In such circumstances an individual might then construct an artificial devil or demon who annoys him constantly, and even orders acts of a highly destructive nature.

(The priest in charge — there were three of them — said that Joe had planned much of the service himself, and that Joe had asked him: “Why are the good ones taken?” The priest enlarged the question to: “Why is anyone taken?”

[...] I said you either rose to the occasion or you didn’t. He agreed, and offered to help us in any way he could, which I told him I appreciated very much. [...]

The ego can perceive only certain portions of any given moment point or present instant, and it sees the moment point indeed as if it were one of a series of lights that approaches the ego from one side, and passes him by on the other side. The ego perceives this moment point, then, very much as if it were a flat cardboard-like object which comes, is flashed before him, and disappears.

The object before him on the table does have checks upon it. [...] He is in a robe, slippers and pajamas, with a door behind him. [...]

[...] He sits now (at 10:09) at a table like a card table, I believe alone, with a game of some sort before him, or at least with a board such as a checkerboard. (Pause.)

[...] I know of him. I do not know him. [...]

The experience was a good one for Ruburt, since it served to give him additional and much-needed confidence. [...]

[...] Putting up with him will not seem a chore if you realize that psychic energy is not only being used when you do so, but within reason, when you do so unresentfully, you are gaining psychic energies through interactions.

The very act of dealing with him kindly utilizes your own abilities in many ways, stretches the limitations of your sympathy and understanding, and of your patience, yes; but in so doing you become stronger and better able to deal with your fellow human beings in general, with benefits to all.

I have not neglected Cézanne, and we will return to him.
