(Jim Adams visited today with some sample black frames for her reading glasses, and repeated to Jane what I’d quoted him as saying his friend Dr. Werner had said about Jim’s description of Jane’s condition. [...] We told Jim we haven’t made any firm decision about seeking medical help, but will when the glasses situation is taken care of. [...]

Something cracked in the room in which they stay, a glass perhaps or mirror. [...]

[...] Jane is hoping that if he can give her new glasses her vision will improve, and this would help her spirits.

(She had put her glasses on after leaving trance, and now left them on when she resumed, as Seth. [...]

(All this time Jane had held a half-full glass of wine in her right hand. [...]

(Jane now took off her glasses. [...]

I pushed Jane in her chair out on the porch, as close to the hemlock as we could get behind the floor-to-ceiling glass; we looked up at the chattering animal from only three feet away. [...]

[...] My own idea here is that Seth/Jane picked up the three-ring design shown on each of the three glasses depicted on the coaster, and translated or converted this data into the number 8, three times. [...]
