Seth’s material here reminded me of a remark he made in the 504th session, which is presented in the Appendix of The Seth Material; he was discussing the perceptions of the fetus as mediated by electromagnetic energy (EE) units: “Cells are not just responsive to light because this is the order of things, but because an emotional desire to perceive light is present.”

It is aware energy, identified within itself as itself, not “personified” but awareized. [...]

3. A note added later: Of course, as soon as Seth mentioned units of consciousness in “Unknown” Reality I thought of the electromagnetic energy units (EE units, as he called them) that he’d discussed in 1969 and 1971. [...]

[...] “They are one form [my emphasis] that emotional energy takes,” he told us in the 504th session. [...]

We will now close our session, though you may watch the candle for a moment, as I am teaching Ruburt how to use energy. It is a rather simple matter of directing basic energy along certain lines outside of the physical organism. [...]

[...] Basically the same energy that composes a system projects into other systems, and it is perceived differently. [...]

[...] They violate the known laws of physics; although at the limits of our observable universe they are much too bright, and their energy is much too fantastic.)

[...] Psychic energy is the one reality from which all others spring. [...]

Now the spacious present obviously contains all of these systems, and these systems are all open systems, for the energy that composes them is the same. [...]

Also this ability to handle energy is carried over into other life areas, that is other areas in this life. It is no coincidence that Ruburt’s writing, and even his painting, is also showing advancement to a higher level of its own, as your work also shares in your increased abilities to use and handle inner energy.

[...] So far Ruburt is doing well, and will learn as he progresses how to operate inner acceleration and flow, or rush of energy, so that he is comfortable. [...]

There are always new things to be learned as new levels are reached, new controls to be mastered, new balances to be maintained, new disciplines that must be adopted; and initially this does involve a natural, added exertion of energy and increased activity, before the whole self learns to deal with the new level, and is comfortable in its manipulations.

Communications, not physical, have been established through elements of energy both within the stories and between certain individuals and Ruburt, although Ruburt is not physically acquainted with these persons.

[...] When you paint a picture, my dear egotistical Joseph, you are dealing with a transformation of energy and a transformation of camouflage pattern. [...] You are forced because of your earthly physical situation to transform this creative energy into another camouflage pattern. [...]

In the latter case which you followed you allowed your psychic energies to drop to a very low and dangerous ebb, from which you are now just emerging. [...]

Mental enzymes have much to do with psychic phenomena naturally, as they have to do with the transformation of energy on any level and of any kind. [...]

When the data from the inner senses is ignored the personalities then become so intertwined with the camouflage pattern that they are only capable of drawing upon a very limited amount of the vitality which gives them basic energy and strength. [...]

It is a giant step and a vital one, for without it the personality would be at the mercy so to speak of the very energy of which he is composed. [...]

[...] It actually represents an amazing ability to focus the complete inner energy. In other words, to command and focus the entire amount of energy inherent within the personality from the inner universe, and as such it must be used with discretion and discipline. [...]

This is rather unpleasant, but such an energy used unwittingly, say, when Ruburt was feeling upset with a certain person, could lead to unfavorable circumstances for the person involved, nor is this shades of witchcraft. Any energy can be used for almost any purpose.

The consciousness always comes first, representing individualized, extremely potent bits of energy that compose the basic or inner universe. [...]

There is an inability to handle his own energy. At times his own energy frightens him, and then it seems to abandon him completely. [...]

[...] So when his books began to sell well, and for reasons given, he worried about this energy of his. [...]

[...] What he is feeling now is the natural energy that comes through his physical being.

You were learning what the feel of your own energy was, and each of you must learn it individually for yourselves. [...] We should change the name of the class and simply call it a class in communication and direction of energy.
