Many of the participators have never known that they had access to such energy, therefore the notion that such energy could be used creatively never entered their heads. Many will try various methods of re-experiencing the energy, in order to release creative feelings they did not know they possessed. Their energy of course was neutral. [...]

No system is able to utilize all of its energy however, and a residue of energy is another characteristic of a system or unit. [...]

A system may say that within its limitations there is room for still further transformation of energy into still more various camouflage forms. It may be generally said, but only generally, that the most advantageous system is that system which has great diversity of camouflage patterns, in that energy, always individualized, is then given expression within the system in different materializations, which then allow for further individualization to the benefit of the whole system.

His energy is now, incidentally, normal— that is, his energy is at the point where it was, but now its emergence will not be blocked as it was at that point, just before his symptoms.

Consciousness is composed of energy, with everything that implies. The psyche, then, can be thought of as a conglomeration of highly charged “particles” of energy, following rules and properties, many simply unknown to you. On other levels, laws of dynamics apply to the energy sources of the self. Think of a given “self” as a nucleus of an energy gestalt of consciousness. That nucleus, according to its intensity, will attract to it certain masses of the entire energy patterns available to a given identity.

Her energy was such that it spilled over into this system with your father, however. Someday I will try to explain this more clearly, in terms of energy patterns. [...] When your mother died in her 50’s in one probable system, your mother in this system was the recipient of energy that then returned.

From your viewpoint these offshoots of energy become unreal. [...] In terms of energy, this multiplication of selves is a natural principle. [...]

They originated from themselves, massive units of energy that reacted automatically and in an explosive manner upon the form of the system. Their energy caused the behavior of the system.

(Pause at 10:45.) These coordination points also serve to give your system additional sources of energy. [...] The coordination points are actually, then, sources of additional energy. They only open however when concentrations of energy build up within your system. [...]

(A note: The second law of thermodynamics tells us that while the total energy in a closed system such as our universe remains constant, the amount of energy available for useful work is constantly decreasing. A mathematical factor that measures the unavailable energy is called entropy. [...]

The extra energy needed is that energy that is used to hold back the idea from finding completion in concrete terms, and forcing it to flow into a different channel. The impulse for such creativity within your field is mainly two-fold, although other elements may enter into it; there is the exuberant desire to express, the same desire exhibited by all energy. Mental activity does demand more energy of one kind than does physical activity, and the reason here is a rather strange one, in that in many respects creative work demands the extra energy used in a sort of repression. [...]

[...] Nevertheless there are important correlations existing between man’s creativity and the inherent impetus of all energy toward creation and innovation; for energy itself forever seeks to perfect itself in precisely this fashion.

[...] The same kind of energy is being used. It will take a very short period however for him to catch up, and soon he will have more energy by far, than he expected.

As the number of rejected impulses grows, more and more energy is of course concentrated in this area, the energy that is inherent within the impulses themselves. [...]

In many instances the ego then feels a lessening of available energy and a definite shortage of energy may occur, so that the ego finds it more difficult to handle its relationships with the outside environment.

When others are present there is simply more energy available. Yet again, such use of energy does not imply a depletion. I am not stealing energy from others. In actuality Ruburt uses the energy, for it is in a form which is more accessible to him than to me. There is a pooling of energy in such cases, and in such a pooling of energy telepathic communications are facilitated; for the many selves present, in pooling their energy, extend themselves.

[...] I must use of course a buildup of energy, which is then expended. [...] There are delicate balances here, you see, so that while I sometimes fool with you in a joking manner, oftentimes the energy simply is not as finely controlled as I would like.

The emotional energy I use as when I show good spirits, are the same energies that propel themselves outward through the voice. [...]

(When the additional energy began to manifest itself after break, Jane said it seemed another channel opened up, a great energy. [...] It was the best feeling of its kind she’d ever had, “as though this energy was coming from a very distant place, or great depths,” yet she was aware of words as she spoke them. [...]

(The energy sweeping her along was so strong, Jane said, that she now wondered how she would have ended the session had not the voice suggested this; but I could reassure her that from observation now I could tell when her trance was very deep, and knew enough now to end it when necessary. She hadn’t been as “cozily Seth” as usual; less cozily a personality in our terms; but she also didn’t know who or what was responsible, aside from the great energy.

(Jane still felt the energy at 10:41. She said she felt that when she stood up she would shoot ahead through the wall—shoot straight ahead—she felt a great energy about her, and wondered about her physical control. [...]

(At 11:07 she still felt the energy, but it was slowly diminishing; although still strong. Jane feels the energy went through her yet left a residue, for she now felt much better than before the session. [...]

[...] All of this is quite aside from the exterior energy crisis. The grasping, licentious attitudes connected with world energy are the results of the same attitudes. There is not an energy crisis. While you believe, however, that energy is limited then you are gluttonous for using it at the expense of poorer nations—who will then, sharing the same belief, retaliate. Energy must be used. [...]

When I say economy however I am not simply speaking of economics in financial terms—rather in the larger meaning of economy in sparing down, cutting out nonessentials, fearing to waste not simply money, but energy or time. All of these ideas are based upon the fear that an individual possesses only so much energy that must be hoarded, directed—not easily, but with fantastic force. The clothes dryer in the basement represents energy that you are afraid to use. [...]

[...] These ideas, again, are a part of the one line of consciousness that says “You have only so much energy and so much time. You must therefore ‘use’ time and energy well; practically you must not waste time or effort. [...]

Ruburt has been trying to be economical in terms of money, energy and time. [...]

An idea contains in itself an energy that you cannot presently distinguish or measure, an energy transformed into a form unperceived by the outer senses. There is no such thing, basically, as diminishing energy. [...]

[...] When conceptual thought develops far enough, then it is imagined that all energy originates from what seems to be a closed system; and this misconception then colors all deductions made concerning the nature of energy itself.

Psychological vitality is a transformation of energy, again, into terms not recognizable by the outer senses. There are literally countless such manifestations of energy with which the outer senses are not familiar. [...]

We will cover a variety of subjects this evening, beginning perhaps with a short bit of material concerning energy in general.

Telepathy on this level is the intangible, nonmaterial communication of inner energy, or inside energy, to the physical materialization of itself within the physical field. [...] It is therefore the communication of inner energy to various still-forming aspects of itself, a blazing, so to speak, of invisible paths or bridges. [...]

As inner energy forms more complicated gestalts through the processes that I have earlier explained, then inner energy continues its communication with the physical matter that it creates about it. When inner energy desires to construct a more complicated gestalt, then it must telepathically communicate this intent and purpose through the matter which it collects about itself, forming a more complicated inner telepathic pattern first, that can then be filled in with physical matter. [...] It is actually the intangible but actual framework formed by inner energy, about whose lines or, actually, reference points, the physical framework is constructed. [...] This sort of elementary telepathy has existed as a necessity since the first formation of inner energy into matter. [...]

In the most simple of living structures telepathy is a necessity for communication, particularly before the inside energy is concentrated sufficiently to form any sort of more complicated pattern or nerve structure. [...]

This recognition can lead them — and often does — to seize their own energy and use it in a strong creative manner. A natural catastrophe or a riot are both energy baths, potent and highly positive in their ways despite their obvious connotations. [...] The inciters of riots are often searching for the manifestation of energy which they do not believe they possess on their own. [...] If they understood and could experience power and energy in themselves they would not need such tactics.

The overall emotional tone or feeling-level of masses of people, through their body connections with the environment, brings about the exterior physical conditions that initiate such an onslaught of natural energy. [...] Your collective feelings affect the flow of energy and their force — in terms of natural phenomena — can be seen quite clearly in a thunderstorm, which is the exteriorized local materialization of the inner emotional state of the people experiencing the storm.

Natural disasters possess the great rousing energy of powers unleashed, of nature escaping man’s discipline, and by their very characteristics also remind man of his own psyche; for in their way such profound events always involve creativity being born, rising even from the bowels of the earth, reshaping the land and the lives of men.

The more “civilized” man becomes, the more his social structures and practices separate him from intimate relationship with nature — and the more natural catastrophes there will be, because underneath he senses his great need for identification with nature; he will himself conjure it into earthquakes, tornadoes, and floods, so that he can once again feel not only their energy but his own.
