JANE’S DREAM

[...] I was ready to start on another session for Chapter 7 of Dreams, but realized I’d have to let that go. [...]

(So I didn’t get to work on Dreams this morning, but hope to tomorrow. [...]

[...] “I even have these dreams that you can wish me out into the car and take me down to those hills in Pennsylvania.... [...]

[...] I had a hell of a time last night—I went into dream states and hallucinations the whole night. [...]

([Natalie:] “Was this my friend that talks to me in dreams?”)

[...] Besides the person of whom you are aware, there are also other guises taken by the same personality, and he has appeared in your dreams before you were aware of him objectively. [...]

[...] And so in your dreams you remember the past in which you have been involved and so it seemed to you these had been forced out of a garden. [...]

[...] And so also, in your terms of time, as this sifts through to the physical being you had a great dream of grandeurs achieved, and yet you look around and see them unachieved in the morning. [...]

Dreams in which past and present are both involved are an example; also dreams in which the future and the past merge, and dreams in which time seems to be a changing ingredient.

[...] Clues also appear in the dreaming state, with greater frequency, because then you are already accustomed to that kind of floating sensation in which events can seem to happen in their own relatively independent context.

(Seth began by discussing a very emotional dream I had on the night of Thursday, February 24, involving what seemed to be the death of my father. I had not asked him to go into the dream yet, but had considered it, as Jane knew. Seth explained how the dream was built around my subconscious fears concerning my father. His interpretation of the dream was detailed, and in the manner of those he dissected in the 216th and 217th sessions. [...] Seth went into one of the basic problems behind the dream, the lack of an easy communication between my father and myself. [...]

(I discussed with Seth the surprise with which Jane and I have watched young people take to his ideas on time, dreams, clairvoyance, telepathy, etc.; with this I speculated as to the reaction of Jane or myself had we been introduced to such ideas at the age of 20 or so. [...]

[...] It occurs to me however that it would be advantageous to include in the middle section my ideas concerning the construction of physical matter, the inverted time system, moment points, a discussion concerning the dream universe, and the system of probability. [...]

(I have had several other suggestive experiences recently, and keep a list of these in my dream notebook. [...]

[...] Matter is the shape of your dreams. Your dreams, thoughts, and emotions are literally transformed into physical matter purposefully by this inner self.

Throughout the ages, some have recognized the fact that there is self-consciousness and purpose in certain dream and sleep states, and have maintained, even in waking life, the sense of continuity of this inner self. [...]
