[...] An earthquake can be a disaster in the area where it occurs, even though its existence corrects imbalances, and therefore promotes the life of the planet. Emergency actions are quite rigorous in the immediate area of an earthquake, and aid is sent in from other countries. When an area of the body “erupts,” there are also emergency measures taken locally, and aid sent from other portions of the body to afflicted parts.
[...] When there is an earthquake in another area of the world, the land mass in your own country is in one way or another affected. When there are psychic earthquakes in other areas of the world, then you are also affected, and usually to the same degree.
The physical eruption, while it may appear to be a disaster in the area of the disease, is also, however, a part of the body’s defense system, taken to insure the whole balance of the body. [...]

(In my dream I’d written that he had a heart attack, but this appears to be off the mark, although pinpointing the correct area of his trouble. At times I’ve even wondered if I recorded the dream accurately, since in it I didn’t see him having a heart attack, only rubbing his chest area with Margaret helping him, and myself there as only a witness. [...]

Thursday 12:20—What I like about all this is that I FEEL that the head area—which is clearing all day and week—is the basic area in which everything started; even the slowness; and that all of that is in the process of clearing—that, the physical stuff PLUS, this AM the feeling I’m doing stuff at creative inspirational levels too; figured out important stuff about James for example—and I FEEL that my recovery can be easy—automatic—and that it only seems that the “body needs time” etc. [...]
[...] While the intuitional abilities first appeared in poetry, and while the poetry in one way was a channel into other areas, the poetry was not meant to be shut off because new areas were opened.
In Ruburt’s case therefore the distrust of spontaneity was indeed reflected in all areas of his life, particularly in spontaneous activities in both physical and creative realms. (Long pause.) Ruburt had a dream with excellent connotations, in which he looked through a beautiful old house of lovely carved wood and spacious rooms, and decided to move into the house, even though it was in an area that had previously nearly been condemned — signifying that he was indeed rising from beliefs that he condemned into a larger, spacious area of expression.
(Note: Just as Jane had had this dream, I’d read an article in the Star-Gazette to the effect that a few blocks near downtown Elmira, including the apartment house we’d lived in at 458 W. Water Street, had been designated a Historical Preservation Area by New York State. [...] I think the area is bounded by Walnut, West Water, and Church Streets, back toward downtown.)
