DESCRIPTION OF THE VISITORS IN OCTOBER, 2002

[...] So we were looking forward to our visitors for several months before they arrived, and worrying about their situation as well.

[...] Here Ruburt is thinking of the address given you by a visitor last evening.

[...] In the window opposite it Bill has a large hand-lettered sign dealing with the hours when his gallery is open to visitors and for painting classes. [...]

(Last Wednesday night’s regularly scheduled book session wasn’t held because we had unexpected visitors after supper. [...]

[...] When visitors enter your home, they do not see it exactly as you do because they also view it through the screen of their beliefs. [...]

[...] Yet it is, of course, since in it Seth illuminates from still another perspective his concept of value fulfillment.⁸ The session grew out of the encounter we had yesterday afternoon with an unexpected visitor from out of state. [...]

[...] The episode reminded us once again that many of our visitors are seeking help of one kind or another, and that we hadn’t had the remotest idea that this would be the case when Jane began her psychic development late in 1963. [...]

As we sat for the session, Jane said that Seth would discuss schizophrenia in general—so certainly our visitor’s appearance led to information on a subject we wouldn’t have asked about otherwise. [...]

I will use your yesterday’s visitor as the point around which to build a discussion.

(After break.) All right now, the experiment that began some time ago is still in operation and the visitors that come here do not come here by chance alone. [...]

(3. A: Why do we attract the kind of unannounced visitors that we do? I asked this question because of the episode of last Saturday afternoon, when I caught our unexpected visitor from the Bronx sneaking in through the living room window, while I lay taking a nap on the couch.

This does not mean of course that you must helter-skelter have a burst of interviews of visitors—but after three or four encounters with people of any supposed authority, Ruburt is then in a position to make new decisions on such matters, based on current knowledge and his own preferences: and he will no longer avoid such adventures out of fear.

(Today Jane had been very upset because her control of time seemed so faulty that she wasn’t getting all the things done through the day that she wanted to accomplish—writing, exercises, seeing an occasional visitor, using the phone—whatever she might have wanted to do on any particular day. [...]

(John Bradley, who has witnessed several sessions, was a visitor this afternoon but not a witness this evening.
