(4:24.) Value fulfillment of each and every element in life relies upon those spontaneous processes, and at their source is the basic affirmative love and acceptance of the self, the universe, and life’s conditions.

In Framework 2 your abilities from birth seek their fulfillment, not at your expense, not despite your own best interests. [...] In Framework 2, effortlessly all patterns are set into motion at your birth, opening up innumerable probable pathways, each leading to the best fulfillment of your potential, so that events, chance encounters, everything works together.

[...] Protestant work ethics do not produce great art, and they can finally undo the good that they have done, by turning all work into a meaningless performance in which the product itself becomes a means to an end, and loses any esthetic value.

[...] Your own are obviously not limited to art, per se, or art would have satisfied you so completely, and taken your attention so completely, that you would not have looked in other areas at all, so there is a place meant for you, in which your artistic—meaning painting—writing, and intellectual capacities form a synthesis in which all those abilities take part, and are fulfilled. Two and a half years ago I wrote in the closing notes for Session 869, in Chapter 10 of Mass Events, that she had finally received from Seth the full title for this book: Dreams, “Evolution,” and Value Fulfillment. [...]

[...] Originally I’d planned to write the standard kind of introduction for Dreams, “Evolution,” and Value Fulfillment. However, as I became involved in describing the complicated, emotionally charged series of events surrounding the hospitalization earlier this year of my wife, Jane Roberts, the material automatically began organizing itself into a series of dated essays. Had Ruburt not accepted, however, it is most probable that he would have chosen another life in which to fulfill the task, in which case I would have waited. [...]

The structure of reality, including all physical phenomena, is composed of mental energy, expanding in terms of psychological value fulfillment. [...]

As he progressed with the series, Seth delved into Jane’s sinful self from a number of viewpoints: its birth and growth during her intense relationship with the Roman Catholic Church throughout her early years; the development of her very stubborn core beliefs; her creative dilemmas after she left the church in her late teens; the conflicts she began to experience after our marriage, involving on the one hand her sinful self and the religion she thought she’d left behind, and on the other hand science, art, writing, and the unconventional direction she discovered her natural, mystical abilities were taking via the Seth material; her growing fears of leading others astray; and the very real necessity for her—and for each individual—to achieve value fulfillment.

Through such behavior the overall value fulfillment purposes and intents of the species are kept in focus, and those necessary requirements then planted in whatever space or time [is] required. [...]

“In that regard, Ruburt’s creativity kept struggling for its own growth and value fulfillment. [...]

[...] The villains consisted of the following ideas: that the world is unsafe, and growing deadly; that the species itself is tainted by a deadly intent; that the individual has no power over his or her reality; that society or social conditions exist as things in themselves, and that their purposes run directly counter to the fulfillment of the individual; and lastly, that the end justifies the means, and that the action of any kind of god is powerless in the world.

[...] They looked for values, but at the same time they felt that they were themselves sons and daughters of a species tainted, at loose ends, with no clear destinations.

[...] In death they fulfilled their purposes, making a mass statement. [...]

[...] Value fulfillment, or the value climate of psychological reality, is the first basic law of the inner universe; Seth presented it in the 45th session in some detail. [...]

[...] If you will recall our early sessions dealing with value fulfillment, let us now consider what I prefer to call a moment point. [...]

[...] You want to extend yourselves as far as possible, because each of you has been born with that urge toward value fulfillment.

[...] But between the moments that you know, and neurologically accept, there are other kinds of moments, if you prefer, other versions of time, and other kinds of accomplishments and fulfillments that are not dependent upon your usual ideas of, say, growth through time.³

[...] A relatively strong “sexual” identification is important under those circumstances — but (louder) an over-identification with them, before or afterward, can lead to stereotyped behavior, in which the greater needs and abilities of the individual are not allowed fulfillment.

All of this becomes very complicated because of your value judgments, which oftentimes seem to lack — if you will forgive me — all natural common sense. [...]

[...] Such an apparition however is composed of legitimate matter, and involves value fulfillment on the part of the atoms and molecules that compose it.

[...] They would be free from your control, and allowed their own value fulfillment. [...]

His development began in your terms in such ancient times that for all intents and purposes you could say that in terms of value fulfillment he was so far advanced as to be alien entirely.

[...] Creative success, not necessarily in terms of money, but creative fulfillment, becomes then a threat in which you see yourself cut off and isolated—while isolation is precisely what you think you must have to fulfill your abilities.

Now both of you have to some extent the false belief that you must protect your abilities against the world and its values, and distractions. [...]

Yet R.’s work as painter may be greater than either of us know, so on the other hand I feel he should hang onto them, rather than scatter his work, put them in one large room—bedroom?—to show them off well and sell them at high prices; he doesn’t sell many now anyhow and his prices may reflect his ideas of art value in society. [...]

[...] As mentioned earlier, your ideas of perfection mean a state of fulfillment beyond which there is no future growth, and no such state exists. [...]

[...] Genuine self-pride is the loving recognition of your own integrity and value. [...]

Fake humility can cause you to tear down the value of others, because if you accept no worth in yourself you cannot see it in anyone else either. [...]

By accepting yourself and joyfully being what you are, you fulfill your own abilities, and your simple presence can make others happy. [...]

In such a situation, there are fulfillments to be gained from the parents’ standpoints. [...]

[...] If they place a great value upon intellect at the expense of the emotions, then the child may be acting out for them the emotional spontaneity of which they are so afraid themselves.

[...] Certain values have been stressed in your country, particularly in the recent present. [...]

Value fulfillment represents an extension of the inner self in its journey into this reality. [...]

[...] They are meant for their intuitional value, and not to be necessarily taken literally.

[...] Value fulfillment AS A RULE being achieved in this manner. [...]

[...] There is a wisdom and an understanding operating, a beautiful give-and-take in life between the intensity of a desire and its fulfillment—an underlying exquisite sanity. [...]

(Long pause at 9:52.) It might seem in the short run that drugs and medicines are a great value—and they can indeed be extremely helpful. [...]

He will, then, continue to improve, because he has allowed himself some room for motion, for change of value fulfillment. [...]
