In the Preface I also wrote about how I thought the great blossomings of religious consciousness and scientific consciousness engendered by the events at Three Mile Island and Jonestown/Iran would continue to grow, once born, seemingly with lives of their own. [...]

That kind of an event simply cannot fit into your concepts of “the beginning of the world,” with consciousness arising out of matter almost as a second thought, or with an exteriorized God initiating a divine but mechanistic natural world.

[...] Yet you had to have that kind of knowledge, and you had to have it in a way that did not intrude upon your conscious thoughts.

A smaller point I thought I would throw in: My energy is often with you both in ways that you do not expect. [...]

(November 3, Tuesday 7 AM: Getting dressed for work this morning, I abruptly had the rather clear thought that I should walk back to my studio and look out the back windows, because I would be able to see that a car was parked in front of the garage, blocking the exit of my car from the garage. [...]

[...] First, I was aware that I felt as if body had dissolved below chest; but then thought that it really might have. [...]

[...] On page 89, in the 100th session, Seth had stated that Jane could allow herself more freedom now, and since she had mentioned the feeling of what she calls ecstasy to me this noon, I thought she was indeed doing more than usual. [...]

(Jane thought it possible but not likely that the idea of the thermal blanket advertisement gave rise to the orange, or hot, color.

(The last two sentences immediately answered the thought I had in mind.)

We have been speaking of the electric reality and actuality of thoughts and emotions, and of dreams, and of all such experiences which appear to be purely psychological in origin, and take up no space in your physical universe.

[...] Now indeed this electrical field in which thoughts and emotions and dreams have an independent actuality, this field contains depths and dimensions of a sort most difficult to explain.

[...] I wished to hell I could (underlined) run, I thought, for boy, I’d have run right out of there, fast!

Actually, I came to realize, Jane was so terrified by the thought of those operations that mentally she shunted aside all such prospects. [...]

Man’s reasoning mind, however, with its fascinating capacity for logic and deduction, and for observation, rests upon (pause) a direct cognition—a direct cognition that powers his thoughts, that makes thinking itself possible. He thinks because he knows how to think by thinking (intently), even though the true processes of thought are enigmas to the reasoning mind.¹
