(After last Monday’s session, Jane told me that she’d try to hold private sessions when she could, but that at this time she’d rather be free of any expected routine, say of Monday and Wednesday nights. [...] While waiting for the next session to develop, then, I’d busied myself working on her intro and my notes for Seth’s Dreams. [...]
[...] Jane’s Seth voice had strengthened somewhat as the session progressed. “I felt a little strange before the session,” she said, “but it was no problem.... [...]
DELETED SESSION
(This excerpt from the session contains Seth’s first mention of the Speakers and their functions in the reincarnational process, and supplements the Speaker data in Chapter Seventeen.
(The session came about because Ron B. and his wife, Grace, members of ESP class, requested help with a problem involving their family. [...]
(Ten sessions after this one, Seth told Jane and me that we had been Speakers also, although he said nothing about dates or countries, or whether Jane, Ron, or I might be renewing acquaintances made in other, perhaps very ancient times. [...]
[...] “Yet I feel as though I’ve been doing things there — perceiving in a different way while Seth was giving the session.” She also felt that Seth had translated some of those now-forgotten experiences into the session’s material.
[...] He will become more proficient, but for that reason I will now end the session.
End of session.
[...] “I have sessions now at times when I wouldn’t have bothered to in the past. I was getting stuff from Seth before the session, but I haven’t the slightest idea of what he said in the session itself — I don’t remember anything. [...]
(I’m just waiting,” Jane said at 9:19, after we’d been sitting for the session for perhaps fifteen minutes. [...] “It really bothers me when I don’t start a session within a reasonable time: I wonder what kind of a block is there, you know….” [...]
[...] The ideal seems so remote and unreachable that, again, sometimes any means, however reprehensible, eventually can seem justified (see Session 850, for example). [...]
[...] More than once I’ve seen her produce excellent material like she had tonight even though, before a session, she’d announce a reservation about holding it for one reason or another.
I also think Seth’s passages in this (826th) session bear upon his remarks in Session 821, concerning man’s “true identification with nature,” his “place in the context of his physical planet.”
[...] I’m not claiming the dream inspired his material for tonight’s session, or that it was precognitive, in that I’d “picked up” on his subject matter for tonight, and constructed the dream around a portion of it in order to give myself that particular information. [...]
(After briefly dealing with a couple of other matters following this dream material, Seth closed out the session at 11:05 P.M.)
NOTES: SESSION 826
[...] Jane started to read the session for yesterday, but had trouble with this one also, though not as much. [...]
[...] The session, then, is one of the major ones, signaling an excellent prognosis for continued improvement. [...]
[...] This balled up our schedule, and made me late leaving Jane—at 7:30—but I see I managed to get the session done after a late supper anyhow. [...]
(I should write a few notes regarding last night’s session, before I forget. [...] The session began as usual; Seth said that the other personality was also involved. After first break, before session was to resume, I felt the pyramid effect that usually signals the other personality. [...]
[...] The meaning of the experience is stated in the final part of the session, so there is no need to go into it here; suffice it to say that the experience had a meaning, was not random but highly selective, and would be listed in our classification as “experiencing a concept.” [...]
(After break, still felt the pyramid bit; so went along and session continued. [...]
[...] Those conditions are always present—yet even the briefest of sessions reinforces those aspects that quicken healing. The sessions are like a touchstone that puts you in contact with those greater portions of yourself that exist so knowledgeably within and beyond the realms of space and time. [...]
[...] Then she started reading yesterday’s session—but haltingly, not as good as she did yesterday. [...]
(When Jane did begin the session, fairly late, her Seth voice was quite strong, if rather controlled.)
DELETED SESSION
[...] Now that it was done, with the multicolored lights shining through the branches and the tinsel, we prepared for the session. Beneath our living room windows, a carpenter pounded on an outside door frame as he repaired damage done to the ground floor of the house by the flood of last June [see the 613th session in Chapter One]. Beside this, the sound of additional hammering inside the house rose up through our floor; but none of this lasted long or interfered with the session.)
[...] The session ended then at 11:35 p.m.)
SESSION 631, DECEMBER 18, 1972
9:37 P.M. MONDAY
(Jane reports that during the sessions she now talks along on faith or trust in a way that she couldn’t do ordinarily. [...] She first noticed this phenomena two sessions ago but for some reason never mentioned it to me. At times during a session her hands feel heavier and waterlogged, the fingers fatter, the palms thicker, so that when she makes a fist her hand has a different feel to her than ordinarily.
[...] Examining her hands midway through the session, we saw these spaces somewhat closed up; her index fingers also appeared to be thicker than usual. At the start of the session Jane removed her rings because they had become uncomfortably tight in the previous two. [...]
(In this session Jane displayed no voice effects of note. [...] Thus she dictated the entire session.
[...] And you must remember that the tragic possibilities discussed in our previous session represent but one sample of such possibilities that are occurring constantly with every individual and every family.
(Jane finished the session in some 10 minutes—very good indeed. [...]
(No session was held yesterday, Monday, but here is a summary of the day’s events, for December 26. [...]
(Tonight we started the sessions up again after a three-month layoff: During that time I typed the final manuscript for Volume I of Seth’s “Unknown” Reality, with Jane’s help, and we’ve just mailed it to her publisher, Prentice-Hall, Inc. [...]
[...] During this evening’s session, he slept curled up on the couch beside me.
(Seth opened the session by finishing his Introduction to Jane’s The World View of Paul Cézanne, which Prentice-Hall will publish later this year. [...]
[...] As I speak in sessions, therefore, I am not entirely myself.
(No session was held on Wednesday, May 14. [...]
(On Sunday, May 18, John Pitre called Jane from Franklin, Louisiana and asked that Seth hold a session for his wife Peg; she is in the hospital, in poor condition, with muscular dystrophy. [...]
(Re John and Peg, see sessions 394, 416, 441, etc.)
[...] I had in mind that we now held no prayer sessions on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays.)
(Jane felt very relaxed and sleepy by session time, yet she didn’t want to miss a session. [...]
[...] This happened quite unexpectedly in the 558th Session for November 5, 1970. The apropos portion of that session, which was held for friends in an effort to resolve certain problems, is given in the Appendix, with notes. [...]
SESSION 568, FEBRUARY 22, 1971,
9:19 P.M. MONDAY
[...] If anything, her transformation is more pronounced when she’s not at her best before a session begins…. [...]
(“Honestly,” Jane said the morning after last Wednesday’s session, “I think I was doing book work in my sleep the whole night — only I kept hearing my own voice instead of Seth’s. I even thought of getting up and trying to write down the material, except that I didn’t think it would really work that way. I just hope we’ll get all that great stuff when we do have sessions….” [...] One of Jane’s previous experiences in obtaining book material in advance — that on bridge beliefs — is described in the 644th session in Chapter Eleven. Her next nighttime involvement with Seth’s book is reported at the end of this session.
(No session was held Monday night. [...]
(I reminded her of a couple of subjects I hoped Seth would discuss, as he’d promised to do some time ago: 1. The great flood of June, 1972, in this area, and our roles in it; see the notes for the 613th session in Chapter One. [...]
[...] For more notes on the Speakers, and Sumari, see the 623rd session in Chapter Five.)
