“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

Very well indeed, as I intended that it would. It impressed several youngsters in a particular manner. A boy in a third seat in a near-center row. A girl in a fourth seat in one of the rows far right.

(It is Sunday, April 16, as I type this. Pat did visit us on the 15th, and confirmed much of Seth’s data given here. See my copy of the map she drew yesterday of her classroom. The boy in the third seat near a center row is, according to Pat, named Dave Lounsburg. The girl in a fourth seat in a far right row is Elaine Todd.

(Seth also correctly picked out the seat of Art Finnegan, to whom he referred in the 329th session. “There is a boy in a third or fourth seat, back from the front, in the left row toward the wall. He is on the last reincarnation within this system.”)

[...] Beneath the window is a heater, covered by a metal window seat. At times this “seat” becomes too hot to touch. At times also, Jane sits with her feet propped up on this seat while dictating. Checking, she discovered that while in her usual position with her feet up, the burn coincided exactly with the edge of the seat. I had wondered at times about the seat becoming too hot, but had taken it for granted that Jane automatically lowered her feet when it became too warm. [...]

[...] During this session, part of it at least, I seemed to be viewing a classroom, presumably Pat’s; at first I looked down upon the room from above, then moved to a vertical position, searching for a particular seat. [...] I was aware though Seth didn’t say so, that the last seats were usually empty.

(Seth mentioned a boy who sat in a third or fourth seat in a specific row also given—had he said, for example, fifth or sixth this would have been wrong since Pat told us the students only sit four down.

[...] As I sat in my favorite rocker speaking as Seth, suddenly I found myself in the back seat of a cab. The next instant the cab took such a sharp turn to the right that I was shoved over into the corner of the seat. [...] I wasn’t used to being comfortably seated in the living room one minute and in the back seat of a swiftly moving cab the next!

[...] This weaving things together to make them “fit” is only natural for one of my temperament, but I didn’t alter any of my original copy—that I’d have refused to do—and I kept intact those first spontaneous descriptions of the events attendant to Jane’s physical difficulties, as well as our deep-seated, sometimes wrenching feelings connected to them. Moreover, the choice of presenting the material in essay form proved to have one virtue that was more valuable than all the others combined: It allowed us to delve into the events I describe, and “our deep-seated, sometimes wrenching feelings connected to them,” a little bit at a time. [...]

(Jane remained standing mutely by the windows while I showed the guests to seats. [...]

(It might be noted that Jane does not drive, although ten years ago I gave her a few brief lessons, which means she has sat in the driver’s seat of an automobile to that extent. [...]

[...] But I was in the driver’s seat. [...]

[...] Jane remained seated as the session began. [...]

(Again Jane began dictating while seated in the rocker. [...]

[...] She had felt “weird” at finding herself pacing again during delivery, when she had just become used to speaking while being seated. [...]

(Just before supper I told Jane about my dream of last night, involving Bill Gallagher: He’d been a white-haired stage performer, and I looked down on him from a box seat in the loge of an intimate, dramatically-lit theater. [...]

[...] She said that while speaking as Seth about me, she saw me, within, seated at a table or desk in the front upstairs bedroom of my parents’ home in Sayre, Pennsylvania. I was not seated at a drawing table such as I now have.

[...] If all of your lives are looked at like a Ferris wheel, then this is the seat you are in when you get off, though some of the other boxes or seats may be labeled future or past.

(Jane felt that part of her was in back of me, that it was some kind of projection, yet she also “saw” this spot from her seat in the rocker, with her eyes closed... [...]

[...] The mechanical aid is good: he is safely seated, and he has also used the occasion to relax his mind.

[...] She has manifested few voice changes since she began to speak while seated, and with her eyes closed.

(Jane said that as soon as she resumed her seat she felt carried away. [...]
