In more specific terms, I’m organizing this rather short exploration of Jane’s death around these items; a loose chronology surrounding her writing of Seth, Dreams … in 1966-67, and our unsuccessful attempts to sell the book; my acceptance of the survival of the personality after physical death; a waking experience involving my sensing Jane very soon after she had died; a metaphor I created for her death; a dream in which I not only contacted her but gave myself relevant information; another metaphor for Jane’s death; my speculations about communication among entities, whether they’re physical or nonphysical; a letter that could be from the discarnate Jane — one that was sent to me by its recipient, a caring correspondent whom I’ll call Valerie Wood; a note I wrote to Sue Watkins about the death of her mother; some quotations from a published letter of mine; Jane’s notes concerning the relationship we had; and, finally, the poem in which she refers to her nonphysical journeys to come.

[...] I think it quite psychologically and psychically limiting to believe otherwise, for such beliefs can only impede or postpone our further conscious understanding of the individual and mass realities — the overall “nature” — we’re creating. [...]

[...] I do think that communication among entities, whether they’re physical or nonphysical, is always going on, and from every conceivable angle and in every way. [...]

[...] They’re very personal observations that at the same time echo that mystery of life I’m always referring to. [...]

[...] I’d told Jane this morning that I knew the dream was quite significant in connection with the work we’re doing with the Seth material, but that I was unable to adequately decipher it. [...]

Very briefly: (John) Fuller (see session 808 re John Fuller notes) is by turns overly credulous and overly critical. [...]

2. Seth’s two previous books are Seth Speaks and Personal Reality — but they’re also Jane’s too, of course. [...]

[...] We’re no longer into that activity for a number of reasons; yet when the host for a Miami, Florida, radio show called Jane early this morning [September 30] about the possibility of a taped interview, she impulsively suggested to that rather startled individual that the tape be made then — and so for half an hour she exchanged with him a free, unrehearsed dialogue about her work for later airing.

[...] I’m still surprised that I’ve done so, for whatever reasons; but we’re ready to dig in for a winter’s work.

[...] [With a humor born out of many a struggle, however, I note that it isn’t easy to give up certain cherished old beliefs, even when they’re demonstrably wrong, they may fit the personality all too well…. [...]

(We should consider such changes as a part of our working life, to provide refreshment; otherwise we just stew because we’re not “creative or working” or whatever....even furniture rearranging or changing whole rooms to different functions can be considered a vacation of a sort, and while I’ve always felt guilty at involving Rob in changing furniture—but do, anyhow. [...]

[...] I struggled to rouse myself enough so I could take pressure off the arm; I was afraid I’d re-injured it. [...]

[...] Seth insisted that the answers re Jane’s symptoms, and my own contributing attitudes, had already been given in past sessions, but were not being followed.

(Although we were both tired by the end of the session, I had the feeling that Jane, as Seth, was a bit reluctant to go too much into the affair with Prentice re The Seth Material, and ended the session rather abruptly at that point for that reason. [...]

(Jane called Leonard Yaudes this morning while I was painting [I thought she was talking to Peg G.], and said later that she was picking up from Seth a good deal of excellent material on the body consciousness, our social mores re illness, and my own recent panicky hassles after Leonard’s operation a couple of weeks ago. [...]

[...] “You’re looking at it,” I told him. [...]

(In relation to Seth’s material on the fund, I told Jane, it seems that creativity obviously has many more facets to it than we ordinarily think—if we need or want money, for example, with it just serving as a means to an end—our doing our work—it will be provided if we’re not closed to the idea. [...]

[...] At the same time the new motions have resulted in feelings of soreness in her knees, but she recognizes that they’re positive responses. [...]

(Interestingly enough, we’re already beginning to hear about such frictions developing, especially from members of ESP class as they work with the ideas in this book. [...]

[...] But they didn’t show up due to a misunderstanding re dates: Cec thought they were to visit next Saturday evening—the 13th. [...]
