“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

I do not mean to imply that it is always detrimental to make such queries as “Are you ill?” or “Are you tired?” Such questions do indeed predict their own answers. When a person is feeling in good health, exuberant and alive, such queries will be nonchalantly shoved aside — they will have no effect whatsoever. But constant questions of such a nature do not help an individual who is having difficulties — and in fact too frequent expressions of compassion can also worsen a person’s state of mind, stressing the idea that he or she must be very ill indeed to attract such feelings of compassion. It is far better, then, to make no comment at all under such conditions. (Long pause.) I am not speaking of genuine questions of concern so much as rather automatic, unthinking, negative comments. Period.

[...] I did not think to query Seth about these points as we sat talking near the end of the session.

(A few days ago Peggy Gallagher had brought Jane a copy of the latest Cosmopolitan magazine, and suggested that Jane query them about running some excerpts from her ESP book. [...]

[...] With a little urging Jane, a little self-consciously, asked Seth about what kind of a reception such a query would get from the editors at Cosmo, whether they would buy such an article, etc.

(Seth stated that the editors at Cosmo would be interested, and that in answer to Jane’s query, which would consist of a chapter from her ESP book plus a letter outlining her ideas on adapting it for the magazine, they would send a letter of interest. [...]

On the envelope of the letter containing the queries about Seth’s validity, Jane had penned a few lines as she sat at her desk yesterday afternoon:

[...] Seth has already touched upon such questions in the deleted sessions that follow, especially those for April 30 and May 2, and extends his coverage of them this evening in response to my latest queries. [...]

[...] Seth said no more about the results of the test, and in view of Jane’s state I thought it best not to query him about it tonight.

[...] Then she answered my query to the effect that she was all right.

Furthermore, in the back of your mind, and somewhat at least as a result of the Gallaghers’ well-meaning query, you also wondered if you were doing your duty should you not insist that Ruburt receive conventional but definite help? [...]

(In answer to many queries, I’ll explain here why I prefer to write these sessions down instead of using a recorder. [...]

(By M.H. Her query was based on a theory that, as it happened, I’d heard of also: A group of scientists has postulated the existence of a class of subatomic particles called “tachyons,” or “meta-particles,” that always travel faster than the speed of light.

Then the mind, the intellect, alters its focus, using its abilities automatically for intuitive ends, and its questioning abilities are freed from endless queries from the outside, so to speak, and it joins with the intuitions, seeking its answers freely in that greater realm.

[...] My question concerned a hypothetical experiment in which, say, a hundred such writers would be hypnotized without being told what the purpose of the experiment was; once under, they would be queried about past-life memories. [...]

(In the 180th session however, Seth’s comments led into the second envelope test, and in the 183rd session Seth queried me outright as to whether I had a third test for him. [...]

I will now, ordinarily, pick up any dangerous warning signals concerning your health or Ruburt’s, but it is still a good idea to query me now and then directly.
