(9:40.) Give us time … You are also viewing your solar system through your own time perspective, which is relative. You “look backward into time,” you say, when you stare outward into the universe. [...] You will never meet them in your exterior reality, however, for you are not focused in the time period of their existence. [...]

[...] Time and space need not be connected, however — that is, the attractions that exist between a reality and any given probability cluster may have nothing to do with time and space at all. [...] You imagine your universe as extending outward in space (and backwards in time). [...]

[...] You can tell the position of the other actors for example, or time by clock, but these physical senses will not tell you that time is itself a camouflage, or that consciousness forms the other actors, or that realities that you cannot see exist over and beyond the physical matter that is so apparent.

[...] I will make it clearer later in the book.² But your limited ideas of time cause conceptual barriers that operate even when you consider the structure of physical biological life.

(A note: Jane telephoned Tam Mossman, her editor, today — and learned that Tam already felt that Seth might have begun another book: he’d wondered about it several times in recent days.

(Slowly:) Only because these units have their source outside of space and time is the present corporal reality a triumph of probabilities. [...]

[...] It manipulates in a larger number of dimensions, until it is able you see to handle many, not just one, of its own egos at any given “time”—and you may put time in quotes—while still maintaining its own inner stability and individuality. It takes on more roles, you see, and the psychological structure becomes more complicated as the inner self becomes sure enough of itself to admit ever more stimuli, while still retaining its own core.

(The idea in using the same object a second time in succession was to see whether Seth would come up with the same, or similar, impressions, both times. Seth does deal with some of the same impressions in both experiments, using different language each time, and this will be indicated where we think it occurred.

The words “Let thy will be done,” represented excellent psychological understanding, for according to Christ’s teachings as originally given, God the father represented the source or parent of the self, who was by nature free from the self’s ignorance or lack of understanding at any given time, and who would know better than the known self those experiences that would fulfill the self’s hopes, dreams, and potentials.

You both chafed against the belief of your times, that man was a natural aggressor, tainted from birth, that he was damned by his very nature, condemned by his early childhood background, by original sin, or by his genes. (To Ron.) And this applies even to you who feel that you have so many webs in front of your brain that you cannot possibly see through them, and of course you can, and the webs are there because you want to play with them at this time, and so feel free to do so. [...]

(To Chet.) Over here, however, is what seems to be a young gentleman from a strange town who is attending class for the first time. [...]

The sinful-self material is ‘timed’ in its own fashion so that although there is a good deal of material already written, its effects are periodic—that is, they are clued to spring into even greater insight, which may not be apparent at any one given time. And she does well at times. When she began writing Magical Approach, she even surprised me by occasionally helping me get breakfast, cooking bacon and eggs at the hot plate I’d set up for her some seven months ago on the kitchen table.⁴ Although she could work at the table while sitting down, she’d given up those simple, nurturing acts of food preparation many weeks ago; her fingers weren’t working well enough, she told me at the time; she didn’t trust herself enough to handle hot food—and I admit that when she implied a risk, the chance of an accident, I stopped encouraging her to help me with meals.

[...] They offered enthusiasm and faith and reinforcement to both of us, and renewed in us a fine nostalgia for old, seemingly more innocent times—even though all of us knew that that was illusory: Basically, those class days, those class years, couldn’t have been any more innocent than any other times; it was just that hindsight helped!

I could only reply this evening—as I had at the time—that I was glad she’d had her perception, but that consciously I hadn’t been aware of any bodily changes. [...]
