(I’ll preface the abbreviated version to follow of Jane’s first slow, or “long sound” session, the 612th for September 6, 1972, with these notes about Seth Two, since this is the ideal place for them.

[...] Just before the flood materialized (over two months ago), Seth-Jane had completed the Preface and the first session for Chapter 1 of Personal Reality; see the opening notes for Session 613 in that work.

(I’m bypassing the lengthy notes I wrote prefacing this session in order to get the material typed up itself the next day so that Jane can begin studying it. [...]

Now — that is the end of Section 1, to be composed of the sessions as given, except with the Preface first. [...]

And Seth in his Preface for Volume 1: “Here, I wish to make it clear that this book will initiate a journey in which it may seem that the familiar is left far behind. [...]

[...] (See the notes prefacing the last session.) As you examine your ideas you will discover that even some apparently contradictory ones have similarities, and these resemblances may be used to bridge the gaps between beliefs — even those that seem to be the most diverse. [...]

[...] Jane could write a lengthy Intro or Preface if she cared to, explaining all the mechanics, the trances, etc., connected with the book’s production.

(This cancellation raised many questions, since Seth had said nothing about any such event; on the other hand, his forecasts had all been prefaced by the word “if,” or similar ones. [...]

Almost three weeks ago I wrote in the Preface for Dreams that we were waiting to receive the first published copies of Jane’s Emir’s Education in the Proper Use of Magical Powers. [...]

4. In his Preface, Seth discusses the relationship between my mother’s death and his beginning “Unknown” Reality; in sessions 679–80, some of my mother’s probable lives; and in Session 683, my contacts with her in the dream state. [...]

[...] He prefaced this by saying that we were all friends here tonight, presumably I suppose if the information was considered to be personal. [...]

[...] In other periods he can work on his preface and his own to notes for the book, and leave himself open to new inspiration.
