On Friday, October 9, 1970, I received a letter from a reader, Peg Boyles, about my book The Seth Material. With it she included an excerpt from Living Time by Maurice Nicoll, and another from a manuscript by Alice Bailey. [...]

The second letter of the long word, or the third, is I believe an L. Perhaps there is a connection with eyes, e-y-e-s.

Over two weeks passed after the holiday season before Jane finally hand-lettered the first formal entry for her 1982 journal:
