[...] Then as Jane and I were discussing the episode last Friday night, I found myself saying that one explanation for double dreams — that is, the awareness of experiencing two dreams at once, or a dream within a dream — could be that each half of the brain has its own separate dream, the two dreams then try to emerge together into ordinary consciousness.

JANE’S EXERCISE IN CLASS AUGUST 31, 1971

[...] Lately Jane and I have taken to requesting that he finish each session this way, until we’re caught up on some projects we’ve been letting go. [...]

[...] At the same time, Jane while in trance lifted her right arm and swung it vigorously from side to side several times—something she couldn’t have done a week ago.)

(Jane’s ideas — and mine, too — have matured considerably since I wrote a month ago that she was thinking of converting half of our garage into a writing room, with its attendant back porch. [...]

(12:25 a.m. Seth, Jane said, was all ready to keep going if we gave the word — the rest of the chapter “was right there.” [...]

[...] Jane’s trance had lasted for just one hour. [...]

(Unscheduled—Jane and I and the Bernards—Saturday. [...]

[...] Gene surprised and pleased, as Jane was, at this data.

(Gert asked Seth to wait so she could get the transition of Jane coming out of trance.)

(Just before the session Jane told me that Seth could give us what she called The Christ Book at any time. [...]

[...] I was going to read the session to Jane, but she said, several times, that she was getting more material on me. [...]

(Jane played a tape of the Sumari session she and Rob had during the week. [...]

[...] She  also explained a drawing Phil had made while listening to Jane and Rob’s session. [...]

[...] Jane read more of her translation of Rob’s Sumari statement. [...]

As far as my relationship with Seth and his with me, because of our long-standing association I think we must have formed a unique psychological alliance; somehow I am part Seth, and in sessions at least, Seth must be part Jane, in a kind of psychological bonding on both sides. [...]

When Seth paused, Rob asked, “What do you have to say about Dr. Stevenson’s idea that this may all be Jane’s subconscious?”

[...] I hated to have to depend on someone else to tell me what was going on, but I had learned one thing: I couldn’t be Jane and Seth at once. [...]

[...] Jane’s trance had been good, her pace a little slower than last Monday. I regard Monday’s session and today’s as two of the best Jane has given. [...]

[...] Jane felt herself “swept up" in this part of the material, as though she were feeling concepts.
