[...] It was quite hilarious and we had some laughs over it; but as I finished reading at about 9:45 PM, I became aware that I was experiencing a feeling of enlargement in the index and second finger of my right hand. Bill stated that in his opinion these two fingers were noticeably “fatter” than the corresponding two on my left hand. I then cut narrow strips of paper and had Bill measure and mark the circumference of each finger, planning to check these measurements when the sensation had passed. [...]

(Since my hand phenomena had disappeared by now, I was curious to check the measurements of my fingers now against those Bill had made earlier. The index finger of my right hand checked out at approximately the same circumference– 2 ”. My second finger, wherein I had been most strongly aware of the feeling of enlargement, had measured 2 ” at the time; its circumference now checked out at 2 ”, for a shrinkage of th of an inch.

(By now I was also aware of a mild feeling of enlargement in the fingers of my right hand. The third finger was the most involved. [...]

[...] I still maintained the feeling of enlargement in the fingers of my right hand.

[...] However, the feeling now became more pronounced, so that when I made a fist my fingers felt thicker, against a thicker palm, giving a feeling of restricted movement. [...]

[...] For she’s been carrying that hand with all but the index finger turned under more than ever; indeed, she cannot straighten the fingers, and I’ve worried about that situation. [...]

[...] Jane’s middle finger on her left hand continues to slowly mend itself, and the blueness in the little finger on the same hand has gotten no darker. [...] I’m sure there is more of a story involving the fingers than we have yet learned. [...] I didn’t mention the little finger, in line with Seth’s and Jane’s own ideas as given recently. [...]

Without consciously knowing how his body performs such manipulations, he trusts it—the hands to hold the brush, the fingers to type or whatever, and the idea becomes reality. [...]

[...] Framework 2’s communication system is at once simpler and more complex that Framework 1’s. Just as, say, your intent to paint a picture automatically has your fingers all moving in the proper directions, and your body manipulating properly, so that the desired painting results, so in a larger fashion your clear intent is communicated to each of the people involved—at a level without static—yours or theirs. (Jane now held up her right hand and indicated the first two fingers on it.)

[...] I would interpret the blueness of the finger as a probably [sic] indication that the medication was right on target but tended to make things worse before it got better. [...]

You have ten fingers and you use them all. Yet, what you are saying is, “This finger is my conscious awareness and I will use it and I will not use these other nine—or if I use these other nine, I cannot use my conscious awareness.” Your fingers are all fingers and these other portions of yourself are all conscious. [...] At her request I put my finger on a certain spot high up on the back of Jan’s head, where the muscles from the neck join the skull—and suddenly her head began to flop forward then jerk backward at an almost alarming rate, so fast did it move. [...] It centered in my palm, and my index and second fingers. [...]

[...] I had paper tapes ready to check Jane’s finger circumferences if the occasion arose. [...]

[...] Rest your fingers.... [...]

(Unfortunately, we are unable to distinguish here as to whether Jane pronounced the word forefinger, or the two words, fourth finger. [...] Indeed his finger bears even now a scar near the tip. [...]

(Prior to the session, neither Jane or I had noticed any scar on Lee’s finger.)

Put your fingers together, release them, put them together again, release them  put them together again, release them. From now on you will be able to release your fingers whenever you want to and that takes care of that. [...]

(Mark told of visiting the hypnotist and the feeling he could not pull his fingers apart.)

(Seth withdrew, and as break was starting and Jane began coming out of trance, Florence, shaking her fingers after writing for so long, made a comment that she wished the tape recorder was here. [...]

Now, if you will not break into many pieces, you may take your break—the clatter of pieces crashing to the floor would tax Ruburt’s new vacuum sweeper—or tax fingers that are breaking with fatigue. [...]

[...] Her hands were very moist, and appeared to be thickened, especially both index fingers. We talked of making arrangements to measure the circumference of her fingers before and during this phenomena, to see if there is actually any physical enlargement.
