What, then, are those “ideal developments” Jane and I are growing toward? [...]

It’s quite clear, of course, that the nations of the West, including that “Great Satan,” the United States, are, with Japan, keeping the fanatical Iranian mullahs (Moslem religious teachers) in power, so that their country will not be taken over by the Tudeh, Iran’s Communist Party; that most unwelcome development could place Iran under Russian domination. [...] Unfortunately, science as it has developed in your time has resulted in a mistrust of the individual, and saddled him or her with a sense of powerlessness, subjectively, even while it has added a seeming sense of objective power. [...]

Without understanding however you can simply project all the problems. [...]

The odds against such a “coincidence” developing would be astronomical — except that the Millers had lived in a neighborhood close to the hill house several years ago (when the acquaintanceship with Louise Akins had been made), had moved out of state, then returned to buy the house next door to us. [...] Why did Jane and I move into a neighborhood in which such a house connection could develop to begin with? [...]

At later times with your present rate of development, the distortions themselves will be held to a minimum. [...]

Present methods cannot investigate this type of expansion any more than they can investigate the validity, development, and rate of expansion of an idea.

A conflict as to sexual requirements developed, as various qualifications were held for the sexes in the countries in which he lived. [...]
