Now this is practical and it is the only real practicality. For if you hate, you create a hateful reality. And to the extent that you hate, you find reality hateful. To the extent that you fear, you create a fearful reality. To the extent that you love, you create a lovely reality. To the extent that you create, you create a reality full of creativity—and this is my message.

Each of you individually creates the reality that you know—and en masse, altogether, you create the reality of your world and your universe. There is no good within it in which you do not participate—and there is no evil within it in which you do not participate—and in which you have no part.

You create your own physical reality!

([Jane:] “I got this fantastic image of everybody spontaneously forming all these seasons and everything. And there was a tremendous effort involved individually to get spring going—to get the buds out...that the good things that we do that we don’t realize...you know we think of war—and we see all the evil we do; and that the good things we do, we often don’t realize—and that we actually form the seasons—the spring, the other seasons; and that the earth itself, the physical earth, is like the Garden of Eden in our subconscious. That is, it’s a result of the good things that we do that we maintain—that we create and maintain this fantastic planet that we get our sustenance and food from—and everything else. And that when spring comes, it’s a creative—a tremendous achievement—on the part of each individual on the earth and in this section of the country, because we have done it. And our belief in spontaneity and life and vitality has actually helped form this. Different chemicals come out through our systems that we don’t even know of that change the atmosphere and so forth and brings all this about. “

[...] When that point is reached, you will be able, if you prefer, to experience any “Reality-Illusion" at your will, but the self who experiences these “reality-illusions" will know itself as reality. There is no place for it to go, because it is the only reality and will create its own environment.

You are creating your own limitations. [...] Seth admits he is part of the game and was, in a sense, created by Gene. He says that Gene is dealing in artificial terms, not real ones.) You and I are part of the same reality.

Basic reality cannot know itself without creating diversity. The diversity is the various forms that reality takes, the various systems within which it expresses itself through projecting itself into infinite individualized experience. [...]

Each inner self is a portion of the basic inner reality. It cannot know itself, however, except through experience, and it must create in order to experience. The experience constantly deepens the value fulfillment of basic reality itself. [...]

[...] You always create the places and the destinations at which you arrive. [...] They are the clothing over the basic reality.

[...] They are all formed from inner vitality, which is the basic or ground reality. Many other systems reflect inner reality more clearly, with less distortions, but the distortions themselves are creations. [...]

[...] First of all, you must understand that no objective reality exists but that which is created by consciousness. Consciousness always creates form, and not the other way around. So my environment is a reality of existence created by myself and others like me, and it represents the manifestation of our development.

They are created by our mental patterns, [just] as your own physical reality is created in perfect replica of your inner desires and thoughts. [...] We realize that we form our own reality, and therefore we do so with considerable joy and creative abandon. [...]

[...] Simultaneously you may create a “thought-form” of yourself, identical in every respect, and this may appear in the room of a friend quite without your conscious awareness. So consciousness is not limited as to the forms it can create at any given time.

[...] In other systems of reality, this particular Seth personality that I, the larger Seth identity adopt here, would not be understood.

“The camouflage is so craftily executed and created by the inner self that you must, of necessity, focus your attention in the physical reality which has been created. The psychedelic drugs alter the neurological workings, and therefore can give some slight glimpses into other realities.

[...] No God created the crime of murder, and no God created sorrow or pain. … Again, because you believe that you can murder a man and end his consciousness forever, then murder exists within your reality and must be dealt with. [...] Yet it is doubtful that without this ‘period’ of contracted yearning, All That Is could concentrate Its energy sufficiently enough to create the realities that existed in probable suspension within It.

“The agony and the desire to create represented Its proof of Its own reality. [...]

The location does not exist within your physical system, but the dream location is a reality. It is a superimposed value which you have created, and which is valid and vivid. [...] But here we are closer to that reality which is beyond space as you know it.

[...] However when there is a distortion, as when an ulcer is created, then we begin what can indeed be a vicious circle, for the idea and the reality of the ulcer is then accepted as part of the self-image. [...]

There are perspectives of reality which you yet do not understand. You should understand clearly the ways in which you create these physical images, for they need not imprison you as they often do.

This does not, however, mean that this is the only reality. It is simply the only reality that you perceive with the physical senses. In order to perceive other realities, you must therefore switch from your outer senses to the inner senses, for the inner senses are clearer, and are equipped to perceive action and reality as it exists independently of the distortions given to it by the physical senses.

Seth explains exactly how we translate thoughts into physical reality. To our knowledge, this explanation is original with the Seth Material To say the least, the supposition that we actually create matter gives rise to all kinds of questions, and Rob and I have considered many of them at one time or another. Was Seth saying that we created tables and chairs as well as events? And when we were ill, were we creating our own disease? If we create reality to begin with, then can we change it for the better?

“Every nerve and fiber within the body has an inner purpose that is not seen, and that serves to connect the inner self with physical reality, that allows the inner self to create physical reality. [...]

“Physical matter makes consciousness effective within three-dimensional reality. [...] As energy approaches, it creates matter, first of all in an almost plastic fashion. [...]

[...] What I have said, however, should serve to remind you when you question that these things were created by yourselves as you forgot your true beginnings, and only when you remember your beginnings will these cease. [...] These have far more reality and far more resources. [...]

[...] In your own case mankind is forming his reality through the use of these gifts. [...] They form the basis of his reality. Within that framework, individually and as a whole, mankind may seem to make errors, to bring ill health, death or desolation upon himself, but he is still using those abilities to create a world.

[...] They are by-products of the learning process, created by you, in themselves quite neutral. On the other hand, your existence itself, the reality and nature of your planet, the whole existence in which you have these experiences, are also created by you, using the abilities of which I have spoken.

[...] Or to put it another way: If we are constantly creating, how can All That Is exist as complete now?”)

[...] Each action creates other possibilities of itself, or other actions from the infinite energy of the universe, which itself is never still. [...]

[...] As long as you dwell on your own imperfections you accept that god, and it has no meaning in reality. You have created a concept of a god that has no reality. [...]

No god ever created sorrow. [...] You create your own responsibilities. No god ever created the environment in which you live. [...]

[...] If you follow physical reality as a commandment then you will place your guilts in physical reality instead of getting rid of them as you should. [...]

It is quite true that your physical senses create the reality that they perceive. [...] You perceive its reality through one set of highly specialized senses. This does not mean that its reality exists in that form in any more basic way than it exists in the form perceived by the microbe, insect, or bird. You cannot perceive the quite valid reality of that tree in any context but your own. [...]

Now: The senses that you use, in a very real manner, create the environment that you perceive. Your physical senses necessitate the perception of a three-dimensional reality. [...]

It is not that physical reality is false. [...] The inner senses open your range of perception, allow you to interpret experience in a far freer manner and to create new forms and new channels through which you, or any consciousness, can know itself.

You look out into the physical universe, and interpret reality according to the information received from your “outer senses.” I will stand, figuratively speaking, in physical reality and look inward for you, and describe those realities of consciousness and experience that you are presently too fascinated to see. For you are fascinated with physical reality, and you are in as deep a trance now as the woman is through whom I write this book.

[...] You create reality according to your beliefs and expectations. [...]

[...] You are all forming reality, as you know it. Then with your physical senses, you are perceiving that which you have already so created.

It is all in one respect hallucinatory, and yet it is your reality and you must deal with it. [...] The world in which your parents live is a world which they created. [...]

Anything that you can see and feel and touch exists within your own reality, yes, and within it, it is legitimate and valid. [...] They form reality for you, and yet the reality that they form is highly distorted; and what you see, dear friends, does not exist and you do not see what does exist.

I have told you that you create your dreams, in actuality, not in theory alone. You create an actuality, a dream universe, as real as the physical universe. [...] You can perceive the dream experience, you can receive its particular intensities, because you have created the dream experience within the universe of those intensities. [...] You influence the dream universe but you cannot stop a dream experience after you have created it, and you must create it within the small range of intensities available for its existence, for there are no other conditions or agreeable ranges of intensity within which the dream experience can exist.

The experience of emotions and thoughts and other psychological realities that do not take up space physically within your universe, all represent portions of, small portions of, what I will for now term initial experience. Psychological reality, emotional reality, and the reality of thought also become valid to human personality through their existence as various intensities. All psychic realities are in this classification also. [...]

Within the mind the dream has an electrical reality. Within the brain the dream has an electric and psychological reality; a much weaker electrical reality. That is, it still exists as an electrical reality, but it is not recognized as such by the brain or the psychological awareness of an individual. To the individual the dream has only a psychological reality.

[...] These, you see, are electrical realities, which may explain their importance; for you not only sometimes predict so-called future events, but you create their actuality within the electrical field, and therefore insure their existence one way or another within the physical field.

Consciousness therefore continually creates and maintains itself, and this includes the physical materialization, the properties of the dimension, and yet basically there is no difference between the creator in these terms and the created. Nor between inner reality, which forms physical matter, and physical objects themselves, for the atoms which are manipulated to form objects are themselves a portion of consciousness, and alive in those terms. [...]

The physical with its multitudinous and astonishing complexity, merely hints at the full nature of inner reality however, for all of inner reality cannot be translated in physical terms. [...]

Now in the same way that consciousness originated the physical dimension, you as portions of consciousness continue to maintain and create it anew. [...] You also then know and develop yourselves through your own creations, and you automatically create and maintain your physical environment in the same manner that you breathe. [...]

Consciousness or action forms all realities. [...]

Some of the “particles” the theoretical physicists have discovered—and/or created—in their gigantic particle accelerators have unbelievably short life-spans in our terms, vanishing, it seems, almost before they’re born. [...] Did a meson, for example, choose to participate in an atom-smashing experiment in order to merely peek in on our gross physical reality for much less than the billionth of a second it exists with that identity, before it decays into electrons and photons? From its viewpoint, our reality might be as incomprehensible to it as its reality is to us—yet the two inevitably go together.

[...] Those events soon found that a transformation must occur (pause), if they were to journey into objectivity—for no objectivity of itself could contain the entire reality of subjective events that existed within divine subjectivity. [...] They yearned to create as they had been created, and All That Is, in a kind of divine perplexity, nevertheless realized that this had always been its own intent.

[...] That is, they will create more and discover more until they are ready to go out of their minds, because they will always create [physical] ‘camouflages’ of the real [nonphysical] thing. And while they create instruments to deal with smaller and smaller particles, they will actually see smaller and smaller particles, seemingly without end.

(Pause.) All That Is realized that such a separation would also allow you (pause) to bring about a different kind of divine art, in which the creators themselves created, and their creations created, bringing into actuality existences that were possible precisely because there would seem (underlined) to be a difference between the creator and the creations. [...]

[...] He was — like all the other disciples — a blessed, created “fragment personality,” formed by the Christ personality. [...] He dramatized a portion of each individual’s personality that focuses upon physical reality in a grasping manner, and denies the inner self out of greed.

[...] It was created as a result of that need, grew out of it, but it did not originate within your system of reality.

Now: God is more than the sum of all the probable systems of reality he has created, and yet he is within each one of these, without exception. [...]

In a reality that is inconceivably multidimensional, the old concepts of God are relatively meaningless. [...] If I told you that God was an idea, you would not understand what I meant, for you do not understand the dimensions in which an idea has its reality, or the energy that it can originate and propel. You do not believe in ideas in the same way that you believe in physical objects, so if I tell you that God is an idea, you will misinterpret this to mean that God is less than real — nebulous, without reality, without purpose, and without motive action.

[...] You learn by seeing these turn into physical reality. You may be killed by what you have created. [...]

Before you can be allowed into systems of reality that are more extensive and open, you must first learn to handle energy, and see, through physical materializations, the concrete result of thought and emotion. As a child forms mud pies from dirt, so you form your civilization out of thoughts and emotions, and then see what you have created, and you must deal with it on its terms.

[...] You can change an unpleasant dream by realizing that you are creating it, and that the problems are of your own making. You leave physical reality when you come to the same realization. [...]

Even while immersed in physical reality, you are then to some extent free of it. Physical reality itself is still a dream within a larger existence, so from that existence you seem to yourself to be dreaming while you are immersed in physical life. [...]

You create appearances. You create outer senses to perceive the appearances, and so what you perceive through the outer senses seems logical indeed. But again, there are infinite realities, as vivid, and some indescribably more vivid than your own, but presently you are not focused upon them.

They, or the inhabitants of such realities, do not perceive your plane of existence for the same reason. [...] The closest field or plane is that one that you create, that you call the dream world, and that you imagine to be unsubstantial, impermanent, fleeting, having no reality except during your own contact with it.

There is no one reality. There are many, in fact infinite, realities. [...] When beginnings and endings are spoken of, the implication is always there, that there must be but one reality, and that it must have a beginning in time and an ending in time.

Realities merge, one into the other. Personalities, or any type of individualized energy, may pass through various realities. The appearance of energy in one form could be said to end in that form were it not for the existence of the spacious present, in which all realities are simultaneous.

Pure energy, or any “portion” of it, contains within itself the creative propensity toward individuation, so that within any given portion all individually conscious life is implied, created, sustained. Pure energy cannot be destroyed, and is “at every point” simultaneously being created. [...] The psyche, your psyche, is being freshly created “at every point” of its existence. For that matter, despite all appearances, the physical universe was not born through some explosion of energy which is being dispersed, but is everywhere being created at all of its points “at each moment.”

[...] You always recognize one package of psychological reality as “you.” [...] You are unknowingly immersed in and a part of pure energy, being newly created in each moment, so that the energy of your atoms and molecules and of your physical universal system is being replenished at every conceivable moment.

[...] As you live in an obvious physical universe, sharing in its reality, so each of you exists in a far vaster psychological or psychic universe — surrounded by, supported by, and part of psychic or psychological entities (long pause) infinite in their variety. Your smallest action affects their reality, as theirs does yours. [...] Psychological realities cannot be compared in terms of size, or bigger or smaller, for the validity and brilliance of each existence carries a personalized intensity so unique that it overshadows any such considerations.

In that respect you cannot rip apart your events to find the reality behind them, for that reality is not so much a glue that holds events together, but is invisibly entwined within your own psychological being. [...]
