(Pause.) As mentioned earlier in this book, Ruburt and Joseph were both involved in a flood situation (in June, 1972), and so I will use that as a case in point and this specific area in particular, although the flood itself was much more far-reaching.

1. Yesterday Jane finished typing the final draft of Chapter 2 for God of Jane. All of her work on the book is still plastic, however. As she wrote in her journal today: “Great day … began typing Chapter Three of God of Jane and the book really started taking off; I’m just tickled; I did great, and added lots of on-the-spot stuff as I typed. (Theodore Reff, a professor of art history at Columbia University, to whom I sent a copy of Cézanne not long ago, sent us his acknowledgment this week, although he has yet to read the book. [...]
