[... 6 paragraphs ...]

A major one completed since our last session. This happened this morning when Ruburt allowed his true feelings toward the work situation to emerge on a conscious level. (Re Jane’s own use of the pendulum after breakfast.)

[... 8 paragraphs ...]

Ruburt was quite too psychically upset to get clear access to me. Not a case of blocking necessarily here. A case of tumultuous activity that automatically clogged our communication, on quite key matters.

This is a rather natural result of Ruburt’s brief experience. As our sessions continue, I will be able to help you more and more, you see.

[... 1 paragraph ...]

For various reasons, the men in his family, his grandfather on his father’s side, whom he did not know, his maternal grandfather and his father, were highly independent, insisting upon working for themselves. Ruburt picked up this Indian trait from the maternal grandfather.

[... 1 paragraph ...]

All of these issues bear on Ruburt’s idea of a job. His money potential will be strengthened if these matters are highly considered. It is not a question of fearing to face reality financially. There is an effective and efficient way for him to do so, and he has been too frightened and panic-stricken to try it.

[... 18 paragraphs ...]

The problems were related to Ruburt’s own writing, as you see. This last Saratoga episode was highly beneficial, even though it frightened Ruburt because he was afraid to use the freedom offered to him. There was great emotional charge behind the whole reunion question, and the “shall I go—shall I not go”—questioning discharged long withheld energy. Symbolically Ruburt came to grips with the whole Saratoga problem with his mother and the past.

[... 3 paragraphs ...]

A large percentage of this improvement is based upon the fact that Ruburt is anticipating a future joyfully again, in the contemplation of classes, privately given. (In ESP.) This sort of endeavor cannot be stressed too highly as an antidote to all symptoms. (Pause.)

[... 1 paragraph ...]

Ruburt should expect to do well, and he shall. Patience and stubbornness can also be used here in this endeavor, as he used them to poor advantage to a job. Do you see my point here?

[... 5 paragraphs ...]

There is literally tremendous energy that can be used and tapped for your benefit, and for the benefit of others in connection with Ruburt’s idea for classes.

Considerable thought and contemplation should be used here, and as much energy devoted as would be given in the search for a job, for the potentials are far greater. Let Ruburt’s determination be applied here and it will meet with constructive benefits. It will solve a long-standing problem that otherwise will always be of some concern.

It is a central material problem in your lives, and you have the equipment to solve it, and the opportunity. You, Joseph, will also be benefited here, and in ways you cannot now see. The matter should be given primary energy, concern and interest. I do not mean above Ruburt’s work, for example, but it will blend with it.

Do avoid the foods for now. Except for a barrier, yes, Ruburt may do what he wishes with his furniture. The desire to do so represents the fact that he is beginning to realize his freedoms.

I will end our session. However we shall hold our regular Wednesday session to these same matters. For Ruburt’s benefit: He is being forced to solve his problem now, to find the solution for him. Had he been alone he would simply have been forced to solve it earlier.
