“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Tonight after supper I took Jane to the chiropractor for treatment of her stiff neck. Before the session I spoke aloud to Seth, asking him for straight answers to my questions about Jane’s symptoms lately. On June 5 I held a two-hour pendulum session of my own, concerning Jane’s symptoms, and received some revealing answers about the role I have played in them. This is written down, and may still be added to.

(Practically as soon as I finished speaking to Seth, Jane’s eyes closed. We were sitting at the living room table. She began to speak in an average voice, with pauses, eyes mostly closed.)

(Jane had voiced these thoughts while getting supper this evening; it was the first time I had heard her speak this way. Perhaps my pendulum session recently helped her become aware of her own feelings in this way.

(“Has Jane got arthritis?”)

(“Did Jane block this material from you earlier?”)

(“Not me. I mean it. What I want to know is whether you can help impress my own changed attitude upon Jane so that it helps her in daily life? The idea being that she has freedom, and so forth.”)

(9:40. Jane said that before the session she told Seth to blot her out, so that we would get undistorted material. She was aware of what she said as she said it. Resume in the same manner at 9:50.)

(“Yes.” Today, also, Jane received a letter from her father, who lives in Florida. Enclosed was some belated birthday money.)

(Jane’s signing a “contract” to work next winter was a point that completely escaped both of us when her symptoms became aggravated. I also missed it in my pendulum session. It is actually merely a piece of paper, and the agreement it contains can be terminated at any time by either Jane or her employer.

(“I thought Jane had that in mind.”)

(“Well, I would like to say here that I am perfectly willing to give Jane all the help she needs to attain the necessary mobility. I do understand her needs in this respect. I’d also like to say that in the future I wish she wouldn’t take my word for things concerning her own feelings and affairs so literally—that she be much more independent in this respect.

(“I also ask you to help Jane understand this.”)

(At break I asked that Seth say what he think of our recent idea that Jane show some book ideas to Don Wollheim, at Ace, as a means of mobility in her writing.)

(“I did, and do, consider it an excellent achievement, and always have. But I can see how he felt the way he did, in the light of my expressed opinions about Fell. Was it a poor idea of mine to insist that Jane finish the dream book before sending it out again?” [After it was twice rejected.])

(10:50. Jane now reported that for the last couple of deliveries she had been far-out, and remembered little of the material.)
