After some attempts therefore I have let this rest for now. This does not mean that I do not sense you emotionally, that you do not impress me in that manner. For many reasons having to do with such necessary cautions, I have not tried to impress you particularly with my own emotional existence, nor to communicate in that manner. (See my dream of September 17 in my dream notebook. Jane and I had discussed this before the session. The setting of the dream was the same—my studio—as the dream of August 20, mentioned on page 69. In the first dream I had found myself outside the studio windows, but not falling. In the second dream I had refused to leave the safety of the studio, which is on the second floor, for fear of falling. It seemed to me to be a clear refusal to project.)
