“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(The portrait is one of my “people” that I had painted without a model, which is my favorite way of doing people. Seth has said that I paint these portraits of unknowns because I have received telepathic data on them. At one time I had decided never to sell the portrait, but gradually changed my view on this in the light of my own feelings, along with Seth’s statements concerning my using my work to influence others. Yesterday I thought I had more understanding why Sonja wanted the painting, and so decided to sell it. I felt it might possibly remind her of a past life, or a past-life location. The painting was rather abstract, but hinted at a Middle East background, and the head was in a turban of sorts.

I also miss the painting that hung there upon the wall; and while I will not take up much of this session with this material, I will nevertheless make here a few comments concerning the person to whom the painting was sold.

They formed atoms and molecules, after first spreading out a positive field. There was also therefore from the beginning here a negative field, and as they weaved matter in and out of this psychic beginning meshwork, they formed both the world of matter and of negative matter.

(Break at 9:30. Jane was well dissociated for a first delivery. Her diction had again become quite positive and elaborate, almost forceful and loud. She resumed in this manner at 9:39.)

And then within this same physical universe, the inwardness was not content to find expression through but one form only, but in multitudinous forms and degrees. What you call reincarnation is only one aspect of a particular interest in the whole regenerative psychic process within your physical universe.

(Break at 9:59. Jane was again well dissociated. Again with her glasses off, she resumed in the same energetic and definite manner at 10:02.)

Allegorically speaking, from the inside he reaches outward, his hands full of inwardness, but it is you who form the inwardness. In the past you have been afraid of what you considered, but no longer consider, the chaos of inwardness. And he was afraid of what he considered the frozen nature of the inwardness, once formed.

There are so many interconnections, and with the construction of the physical universe inward energy was so inventive, that even further possibilities began early to show themselves. Anything constructed, in any field, attains reality.

Reality means consciousness, and through the very physical apparatus developed by inwardness, which was aware from the beginning, further embellishments became possible for consciousness itself. The inwardness not only formed physical matter then, but formed new dimensions of inwardness itself, new dynamics from which consciousness could originate.

(See the 54th session, May 18, 1964, Volume 2, page 91, etc. Seth deals with this fact to some extent as far as his relationship to Jane is concerned. Jane is not Seth now, he states, not his subconscious mind; nevertheless Jane’s entity Ruburt is, now, an extension and materialization of the Seth that he was at one time, centuries ago. See also the 63rd session for a brief mention of the same theme.)

(Break at 10:29. Jane was again well dissociated. My writing hand was tiring, otherwise I would not have taken the break. Jane’s pace had been fairly rapid. She resumed in the same active manner at 10:34.)

(End at 10:50. Jane was dissociated as usual. Seth, she said, “came through like a bell.” My writing hand was tired.

(I am not sure that Seth’s statement on page 150 constitutes a distortion, when he mentions that a communication between our universe and the universe of negative matter is possible. In the 63rd session, again, he deals with the two companion universes to ours, calling them a beforeimage and an afterimage, and lumping them under the general terms of negative or antimatter. In the 63rd session Seth states that our universe and the two universes comprising the universe of negative matter can never meet. Perhaps the point here is what kind of a “meeting” he was referring to in the 63rd session. He is referring to a psychic communication in the present session.)

(November 23, Monday, 11:45 AM: Saw a funny tall cylinder structure covered with red wood. It was not wood inside. I heard the name “Toby” mentally. Thought it might be a person’s.

(November 19, Thursday, 8:30 PM: Mild thrilling sensation upon lying down. Hands enlarged somewhat on tops. The unusual thing achieved this time was that my left heel came to feel that there was nothing beneath it, as though it hung off the edge of the bed. The sensation had good duration and was unmistakable. I verified that my foot actually was on the bed by exerting pressure. This sensation is like some Jane has experienced recently. She achieved a much greater degree, however, as when she attempted to travel psychically and ended up in her trance of November 4, 1964. See page 116.

(November 23, Monday, 8:15 PM: This was my most active experience since resuming psychological time study. I experienced sensation, sight and sound. Most of the sightings and sounds are now hard to recall, frustratingly enough, but they were very vivid at the time, and I did achieve partial duration in memory.

(Among other things I saw a skull, rather humorous, popping up on a wobbly stem above a box of some kind like a jack-in-the-box toy. There was no fright or concern involved on my part. It flashed very briefly, in the middle distance. Also I saw a bright yellow light flash behind the seated figure of a man at a desk. I did not know the man.

(When I first lay down I had the feeling that a door had opened out of my vision to the left, letting light creep slowly in. I had to squeeze my left eye shut to make sure it was closed. The right eye was not so affected. My sensation swept over me several times. One time I saw a group of men and women walking out of a deserted house into a field of knee-high brown weeds, and heard them talking plainly.

(Then, evidently in a good state between waking and sleeping I had a most vivid sighting. From high up in the air I found myself looking down upon a white snow-covered landscape with white mountains and flat white expanses, and a vivid blue sky. It was rather brief but very clear. I saw a round hole, evidently cut into ice; at the hole were two men wearing white fur suits, and moving about the hole as though perhaps fishing through the ice.

(The scene flickered at full strength for a second then was gone. I was so surprised I spoke aloud; Jane answered and I then described it to her so I wouldn’t forget it by chance until I could write it down in the morning. After speaking to her, I again saw the two figures less clearly, walking or climbing in the rough white terrain.
