“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Trying psychological time for fifteen minutes on Tuesday, November 17, and Wednesday, November 18, Jane achieved an excellent state on each day.

(I have little to report concerning my recent psy-time experiences, achieving little beyond a moderate sensation. This appears to be a low point for me.

(Yesterday a friend from our Sayre days visited us. We had not seen Sonja for several years. She is a nurse, has married a doctor from Turkey, and is spending a few months in this country before joining him in Turkey. Sonja has always been attached to a portrait I had painted before Jane and I were married, and at various times had urged me to sell it to her. Yesterday she asked me again to sell her the painting, and I did even though it had sentimental value for Jane and I.

(The portrait is one of my “people” that I had painted without a model, which is my favorite way of doing people. Seth has said that I paint these portraits of unknowns because I have received telepathic data on them. At one time I had decided never to sell the portrait, but gradually changed my view on this in the light of my own feelings, along with Seth’s statements concerning my using my work to influence others. Yesterday I thought I had more understanding why Sonja wanted the painting, and so decided to sell it. I felt it might possibly remind her of a past life, or a past-life location. The painting was rather abstract, but hinted at a Middle East background, and the head was in a turban of sorts.

(I did not know it at the time, but Jane would have preferred that I keep the painting. Truth to tell, we both missed it after Sonja left. However I have photographs of it and will now do another one similar to it. The results should be better since I am a better artist now.

As within your universe, as a personality reincarnates into different form, you have the retention of the original personality, intact, with its memories in the subconscious; and you have the additional formation of a completely new personality time after time.

(See the 54th session, May 18, 1964, Volume 2, page 91, etc. Seth deals with this fact to some extent as far as his relationship to Jane is concerned. Jane is not Seth now, he states, not his subconscious mind; nevertheless Jane’s entity Ruburt is, now, an extension and materialization of the Seth that he was at one time, centuries ago. See also the 63rd session for a brief mention of the same theme.)

Nor have I forgotten any of the psychological time incidences. These will all be covered in a particular sequence of particular material devoted to them in a chunk, so to speak. Nor could I have even begun this explanation of the relationship and growth of the physical universe, the universe of negative matter, and the dream universe at a much earlier date. The preparations had to be laid.

I am afraid that I will have Ruburt continue with the shorter psychological time period again until our next session. This will keep things in proper balance, and whether he realizes it or not, he is becoming accustomed to controlling energy acceleration, and automatically adapting himself.

(As this material continues to expand, Jane and I realize more and more that indeed nothing is simple in explanation. For this reason we have curtailed our questions concerning a quick explanation on any subject that might interest us at the moment. Most of the time now we do not even ask.

(Both of us have kept strict records of our psychological time studies, for example, with the hope that Seth will eventually discuss them. The records have now piled up to such an extent, however, that we do not really understand how Seth can ever cover them, as he has promised to at various times, in very much detail. Even if he began a discussion of them they would still accumulate. The same problem arises with dreams, with material on the inner senses, etc. So we settle for what we can obtain each session. Actually the time set aside for gathering material is quite limited, yet it keeps us busy.

(November 19, Thursday, 8:30 PM: Mild thrilling sensation upon lying down. Hands enlarged somewhat on tops. The unusual thing achieved this time was that my left heel came to feel that there was nothing beneath it, as though it hung off the edge of the bed. The sensation had good duration and was unmistakable. I verified that my foot actually was on the bed by exerting pressure. This sensation is like some Jane has experienced recently. She achieved a much greater degree, however, as when she attempted to travel psychically and ended up in her trance of November 4, 1964. See page 116.

(November 23, Monday, 8:15 PM: This was my most active experience since resuming psychological time study. I experienced sensation, sight and sound. Most of the sightings and sounds are now hard to recall, frustratingly enough, but they were very vivid at the time, and I did achieve partial duration in memory.

(When I first lay down I had the feeling that a door had opened out of my vision to the left, letting light creep slowly in. I had to squeeze my left eye shut to make sure it was closed. The right eye was not so affected. My sensation swept over me several times. One time I saw a group of men and women walking out of a deserted house into a field of knee-high brown weeds, and heard them talking plainly.

(November 24, Tuesday, 12:00 PM: Again a very vivid experience. First upon retiring I had a recurrence of seeing the painted trees, for some little time. I then switched to receiving other vague scenes which I quickly lost track of.
