(Offhand, I do not recall any instance where Seth has eliminated a session entirely. [...]

This was true long before the Seth sessions ever began, and it is generally true. [...]

(In the 135th session, Seth gave me a little puzzle involving a Saturday evening and the number 5. Since then I have noted two occasions where the two conditions might apply. I have been mentioning the incidents to Jane just before session time, in case Seth cared to comment on them, but to date he hasn’t dealt with them. [...]

(“Good evening, Seth.”)

(Seth began talking about dreams as far back as the 15th session, about dream locations in the 44th session, about the subconscious and dreams in the 92nd and 93rd sessions, etc., among others.)

[...] Good night, Seth.”

[...] Yet before me I saw, like an afterimage, a symbol that Seth had described in the 84th session. [...] Seth stated that this small symbol, with some initials, was on a rowboat at Provincetown, MA, and that Bill Macdonnel should have seen it while he spent some weeks there. [...]

[...] Naturally, what I did see is my personal reconstruction from the data furnished by Seth.

[...] Before he did Seth Speaks, she was scared Seth couldn’t write a book. [...]

[...] Seth’s comments about fleas made me wonder about using the flea bombs in the house that Frank Longwell had gotten for me a few days ago. [...]

(I told Jane that Seth’s material on childhood inoculations leading to later diseases might be vulnerable to statistics. [...]

(Before the session I told Jane I’d like Seth to say more about her eyes. [...] Then I asked her if she had any questions for Seth. [...]

(I didn’t think of any foreign book-publishing rights being involved, though, as Seth indicates. Last month we were informed through Tam and personal letter from Switzerland that a foreign translation of Seth Speaks may be in the works, but nothing concerning Spain that we know of. [...]

(“Good evening, Seth.”)

(It may simply be that Seth was referring to a foreign publisher in any European country, as one of the ingredients in this story of the workings of Framework 2. Card from Carlos attached to this session for reference if needed.)

(Both of us wanted Seth to discuss the sudden relaxation of her upper body that Jane experienced last Friday afternoon when we made love. [...] We also wanted Seth to comment on Jane’s eye condition, which lately has taken a variety of states, some of them momentarily excellent.

[...] For a while, listening to Seth, I found myself wondering if I’d done anything right since Jane’s troubles began a decade ago. I didn’t voice my thoughts, which were kind of low; then Seth returned almost at once:)

[...] Her description was very similar to the material Seth has just given.)

(Here Seth refers to the three-page letter I wrote to Jane in Sumari on December 31, 1971. [...] Seth changed the word regulations to covenant, however, in the January 3, 1972 session.)

(Seth smiled at his own pun.) “I get it,” I said.

[...] I feel Seth around too but he hasn’t come through yet. [...]

[...] When the session began however she used her usual Seth voice and speed of delivery.)

(To resume: Sue Watkins, one of Jane’s ESP class members, left three questions last night for Seth to answer when possible. [...]

(Although Seth didn’t call this session book dictation, Jane and I decided to show portions of it in Mass Events for two reasons: 1. The material in Note 1 can be taken as an extension of the discussion on reasoning and the intuitions that Seth gave in the 825th session. [...]

[...] As I sat there I started to get more from Seth on one of the subjects mentioned in the session. The material came in ideas, though, not in Seth’s ‘finished copy.’ I told Rob about it when he came back, and now this morning I’ll see what I can recall for these notes.

(Seth actually delivered the material in Note 1 at the beginning of tonight’s session. [...]

1. “Now, for example,” Seth told us this evening, “man deals with a kind of dual selfhood, in that he presently thinks of himself as an uneasy blend of body and mind. [...]

(Jane asked me if I noticed any physical changes in her face toward the last, since she was so strongly aware of Seth. [...] I think it quite possible that Jane’s emotional appreciation of the Seth personality accounted for the changes as she was involved in delivering the material.)

(“Good evening, Seth.”)

(Just before 9 PM Jane had been telling me she was more aware of Seth’s presence preceding the session.)

[...] She is much farther out than she used to be, she said, and feels now more and more like Seth and less like Jane. [...]

[...] Smoking a cigarette during break, Jane received the words “—and as far as mediums are concerned—” but told Seth to wait until she had finished. She also admitted that she had been somewhat upset with Seth because of what he had told me the last two sessions; this I had not known. [...]

[...] Time had passed very rapidly, it seemed, and we suspected time fore-shortening on Seth’s part. Jane said she could tell Seth was very pleased with the above dialogue. [...]

[...] After the session we discussed Seth’s analysis of my particular problems. Jane then wondered aloud if she would get good results when her turn came, since she was the one giving voice to Seth’s messages. [...]

[...] Also while delivering Seth’s messages her hands seem to be “fatter.” [...]

[...] At 8:30 she had no idea of what Seth would talk about for the session, but she was increasingly aware of a feeling that Seth wanted her to ask Leonard in as a witness. [...]

[...] Jane then received the following from Seth:)

(Seth’s greeting surprised us both; I interrupted him, and Jane stopped pacing for a moment.)

[...] The optimistic remarks had come through the Ouija board in the first two or three sessions; none of them had materialized, and in the light of Seth’s recent material on distortions Jane and I had thought distortion the reason for this failure.)

(Jim’s friend was unable to come, but Jim, Bill, Jane and I began to discuss Seth at about 7:30 Friday night. We also discussed the letter of April 23, received today, from the A.S.P.R., asking us to cease sending in copies of these sessions unless they contained specific information of Seth’s promised tests. [...]

(Jim visited Jane at the gallery and she invited him to the house on Friday night so that we could discuss Seth. [...]

[...] At the same time, Jane said that she thought she felt Seth stirring about, since all of us had talked about him constantly for some time now. [...]

[...] Note, also, that at the close of the 46th session, Seth had remarked that he would “speak to you Monday if not before.”)

[...] I said I wouldn’t mind Seth commenting on the dream. [...]

[...] Her Seth voice was average.)

[...] I said I hoped Seth would go into my question of yesterday, about not wanting my own suggestions for Jane’s improvement to come into conflict with her body’s own innate and spontaneous order of healing itself. [...]

(We were fairly sure her reactions stemmed from the barrage of material Seth has given us since we began this series of “crash” sessions last week, but that knowledge didn’t help her much today. [...]

(Seth started right off tonight with a rather surprising statement and a hopeful one too. [...]

(“Good evening, Seth.)

(Seth either didn’t hear me, or chose to ignore the question.)

(Seth refers to last night’s ESP class, in which Jane and some of her students obtained some unusual effects and experiences. One ESP class member, Sue Watkins, saw Seth in the room, etc.)

[...] Seth’s pace had been good, with few pauses.)

(“Good night, Seth.”

[...] I thought that perhaps Seth asked about an end to the session because Jane was blocking material about me she thought I might not like to hear. [...] Seth then broke in at 10:15.)

(Once again Jane sat on the divan, and began speaking for Seth, in trance, at a rather fast pace, with her eyes opening often.)

(“Good evening, Seth.”)

(In the last session, 372nd, October 16, 1967, Seth predicted good sales for Jane’s ESP book. [...]

[...] Neither of these two companions are professional nurses, though they are used to taking care of people with troubles like Miss Callahan’s. May 23 is the date Seth gave us as a day of crisis for Miss Callahan; and Seth reiterated this along with a word of caution in the last session, the 54th, page 90.

(Later, Jane told me that as she was delivering this material aloud, she also contained within another parallel channel of thought from Seth, as she often does. This time she was quite aware of Seth’s concern lest anyone, upon reading this section of the material, commit suicide in a misguided effort to prove that it is possible for the consciousness to get along without the physical body. [...]

(Tuesday morning Jane visited Miss Callahan in the front apartment, as Seth had suggested last session. [...]

(“Good evening, Seth.”)

[...] “It’s pretty dumb, because I sure as hell don’t get any privacy this way,” she exclaimed — and I thought she was clearing a road, as Seth had suggested last session.

[...] I feel Seth around and he’s got a couple of comments, so I should get them.”

[...] Her Seth voice still wasn’t as clear as it usually is, nor was her “regular” voice, but both voices today were much improved over their condition yesterday. [...]

(John Bradley is called Philip by Seth. [...] Since Seth goes into something else shortly, I will note here that John Bradley and Bill Gallagher engaged in lively argument here the evening before this session, on the subject of war.)
