As for myself, I think I’ve had some good results keeping informed through the dream state about people and events in my home town of Sayre, which lies just across the New York State border in Pennsylvania, and is only 18 miles from the hill house in Elmira. We have seldom visited Sayre in recent years. [...]

(I graduated from high school in Sayre, Pennsylvania, in 1937, and believe Dave Lake did so a year later. [...] We see each other on rare occasions, and once in a while I will hear some news about him through my family or a friend in Sayre, which adjoins Waverly. [...]

(Actually, I first began moving things to Sayre because we thought we would be moving from Elmira. I wanted as little surplus material here as possible, thinking it would be easier to take our time moving items from Sayre to the new location, wherever it might be.

In one reality, of course, the work was finished at the Foster Avenue house (in Elmira, New York). In another it was finished in Sayre (Pennsylvania).
