[...] So you stand amid a constant vital commotion, a gestalt of aware energy, and you are yourselves physically composed of conscious cells that carry within themselves the realization of their own identity, that cooperate willingly to form the corporeal structure that is your physical body.

[...] The physical senses allow you to perceive the three-dimensional world, and yet by their very nature they can inhibit the perception of other equally valid dimensions. Most of you identify with your daily physically oriented self. You would not think of identifying with one portion of your body and ignoring all other parts, and yet you are doing the same thing (smile) when you imagine that the egotistical self carries the burden of your identity.

You are not a forsaken offshoot of physical matter, nor is your consciousness meant to vanish like a puff of smoke. Instead, you form the physical body that you know at a deeply unconscious level with great discrimination, miraculous clarity, and intimate unconscious knowledge of each minute cell that composes it. [...]

Now at times I will be using the term “camouflage,” referring to the physical world to which the outer ego relates, for physical form is one of the camouflages that reality adopts. [...] Your physical senses then allow you to perceive this camouflage, for they are attuned to it in a highly specialized manner. But to sense the reality within the form requires a different sort of attention, and more delicate manipulations than the physical senses provide.

[...] This would almost amount to a cellular thinking process, but it is actually a gestalt of relatedness in which cellular comprehension was, and is, passed throughout the physical organism.

[...] Your knee can see, every portion of the body responds to light. [...]

[...] Indeed the ego is almost entirely formed by the physical senses method of perception. [...]

The organism, physically speaking, can hardly exist without them.

[...] It takes awhile to get to know another person, whether they are in the body or out of the body. Personalities meet and communicate whether they are physical or not. [...]

[...] There are portions of your own identity, in other terms, that dwell in these probable systems that have not known physical reality and that come to observe those portions of itself that have so developed in that fashion. [...] You are not in communication with that portion of yourselves that is not physical, that was never physical and that will not know physical existence at all, and since you identify with the physical self then, indeed, we come to you in the guise of ghosts that you do not understand our forms that you cannot see. [...] And you built up about your physical image a fortress of flesh to protect you. [...]

[...] The inner gestalt of the group has been opened, for one thing, and a better group unity will result. [...]

The higher centers of intuition are activated while physically oriented portions of consciousness remain with the body. [...]

[...] The symbolisms and frameworks of religion, therefore, had to exist not only in the physical world but also in the unconscious one. [...]

Now: The rules within physical reality say that objects appear to be stationary and permanent. [...]

[...] Only the very highest, most developed gestalt consciousness can be aware of anything like their totality. [...]

To understand what the larger self is, you must try to imagine yourself in an environment that is not physical... not only without physical environment in terms of space and objects but without the intimate physical environment of the body that now you take so for granted. [...] I am speaking in terms of personality gestalts that simply do not operate through matter at all, in your terms, and whose components are of a psychological variety unknown to you. [...]

[...] You do not physically recall those journeys that you have yourselves made and are now making. You leave from any moment of your time and you are gone sometimes for centuries of physical time. [...]

(Seth:) ...this was in your inner senses and perceiving a different kind of reality in the same way that you formed what you saw on an unconscious basis, in your terms, so you form the physical matter that forms the room on an unconscious basis. [...]

[...] You are to forget the idea that what you see physically is the only reality, and that what only one perceived must be an hallucination if it is not perceived by the others. [...]

In the entire gestalt from cellular to “self” consciousness, there is a vast field of knowledge — much of it now “unconsciously” available — used to maintain the body’s integrity in space and time. [...]

To me there are connections between such periodic activity and Seth’s information in the 684th session, in Section 1: “Your bodies blink off and on like lights … For that matter, so does the physical universe.” [...]

Give us a moment … The complete physician would be a person who learned to understand the dynamics of being, the soul-body relationship — one who was healthy in his or her own body. [...]

[...] The seeds are the physical carriers of future oranges, but the blueprints for that reality are what formed the seeds. [...]

Consider the spectacular framework of your body just from the physical standpoint. You perceive it as solid, as you perceive all other physical matter; yet the more matter is explored the more obvious it becomes that within it energy takes on specific shape (in the form of organs, cells, molecules, atoms, electrons), each less physical than the last, each combining in mysterious gestalt to form matter.

[...] Breath, which represents the most intimate and most necessary of your physical sensations, must flow out from what you are, passing into the world that seems to be not you. Physically, portions of you leave your body constantly and intermix with the elements. [...] But in other ways the adrenalin does not just stay in your body. [...]

The stuff, the space outside of your body, is composed of the same elements, but in different proportions. There is a constant physical interchange between the structure you call your body and the space outside it; chemical interactions, basic exchanges without which life as you know it would be impossible.

[...] It is the body of your experience, coalesced in physical form. [...]

(11:32.) Physically, your body must follow the nature into which you were born, and in that context the cycle of youth and age is highly important. [...] You are not it, yet it comes into you and leaves you, and without its continuous flow you could not physically exist. [...]

Your body has within it the miraculous strength and creative energy with which, in your terms, it was born. [...] While youth can be physically “prolonged” far beyond its present duration, that is not what I am saying.

[...] Your own body grows naturally and easily from its time of birth, not expecting resistance but taking its miraculous unfolding for granted; using all of itself with great, gracious, creatively aggressive abandon.

[...] Conscience, as you think of it, is caused by a dilemma and a misunderstanding of the conditions set upon your physical existence. [...]

There is a gestalt relationship between all the sperm, say, in a man’s body at a given time, in which the sperm that do not connect still add their latent characteristics to the one that seemingly triumphs. [...]

[...] That spontaneous order shows itself in time, but it is apart from time, in that its origins (underlined) are not physical. [...]

(Pause.) What you think of usually as order is an aspect of the spontaneous order that is within and behind the “mechanics” of all physical actions. [...]

(Long pause at 9:30.) The physical universe had to spring from a source that exists beyond life itself. [...]

[...] On your plane you are in closed space, so to speak, physical elements formed into a purposeful gestalt.

As far as my mention of May 23rd in connection with Miss Callahan, this was not a distortion; and the crisis, which was a psychio-physical crisis, came as I said that it would.

While you have highly limited concepts about the nature of the self, you cannot begin to conceive of a multidimensional godhood, or a universal reality in which all consciousness is unique, inviolate — and yet given to the formation of infinite gestalts of organization and meaning.

I have told you often that you create your reality physically. [...] You are aware (underlined) of the physical environment that you create. [...]

Feelings and emotions attract in the physical universe and in any other their own kind. [...] In your system there is some lag before physical reality catches up with your inner conceptions. [...]

[...] Some new habits have finally taken; consciously he has learned to leave himself alone enough so that the body can clear itself.

[...] There are excess energies now that act as magnets, drawing other positive energy to him in such proportion that the entire gestalt becomes in effect a psychic helper.

Putting this as simply as possible, your actual experience is far too vast for you to physically follow. [...] Your body itself is composed of self-aware organizations of consciousness that escape your notice and deal with perceptual material utterly alien to your own ways.

There are organizations of consciousness, however, that leapfrog the species, that produce no arts or sciences per se — yet these together form the living body of the earth and the physical creatures thereon. [...]

[...] As a result he does not understand the greater natural mobility he himself possesses, nor can he practically perceive the natural psychological gestalts of which he is a part, that form all of your natural — meaning physical — world.

In such ways each individual maintains a picture of the everchanging physical and psychological mass environment. Physical events as you understand them could not exist otherwise. [...]

[...] It carries on according to the possibilities inherent within it, as you carry on according to the possibilities in the physical system. In sleeping, however, you focus your awareness in altered form into another world that is every bit as valid as your physical one. Only a small amount of energy is focused into the physical system during sleep, enough simply to maintain the body within the environment.

[...] Atoms and molecules have consciousness, and this minute consciousness forms its own dreams even as, on the other hand, it forms its own physical image. As in the material world, atoms combine for their own benefit into more complicated structures, so do they combine to form such gestalts in the dream world.

The slower physical manifestation of growth that occurs within the physical system involves long-term patterns filled by atoms and molecules which are, to some extent, then imprisoned within the constructions. In the dream world, the slower physical growth process is replaced by psychic and mental value fulfillment which does not necessitate any long-range imprisonment of molecules within a pattern. This involves a quickening of experience and action that are relatively unhampered by the sort of time necessities inherent within the physical universe. [...]

These developments are the result of actions that occur in many perspectives at once and not developments that happen as within the physical system through a seeming series of moments. Basically, even the physical universe itself is so constructed, but for all practical purposes, as far as perception and experience is concerned, time and physical growth apply. As a result, the ego portion of personality is, to a large extent, dependent for its maturity and development upon the amount of time that the physical image has spent within the system.

[...] Physically speaking, earth itself has its own kind of gestalt consciousness. [...]

[...] When they form living creatures they become a physical basis for species alteration. The body’s adaptability is not simply an adjusting mechanism or quality. [...]

[...] Yet in the physical framework there is a constant intermixing, so that the cells of a man or a woman may become the cells of a plant or an animal,⁴ and of course vice versa. [...] Those cells that now compose your own bodies have combined and discombined many times to form other portions of the natural environment.

[...] There are groups of people in isolated places who hold such beliefs, and in all such cases the body responds. [...] In isolated cases this will show you some of the results possible on a physical basis alone. [...]

Yet the physical matter of the born infant contains none of the same physical matter which was received initially from the parents. The original matter has completely disappeared, to be replaced by other matter as the consciousness of the infant slowly constructs about itself its growing awareness of itself into physical matter.

[...] A subdivision of primary construction can be called the distortive mirror construction, which would include of course the physical construction of another physical being in birth.

This distortive attempt to re-create the self once more on the physical plane, and to insure self-continuity within that plane, is the basis for the divergence of physical types and characteristics. [...]

[...] It is, nevertheless, attempted, and is a necessary physical adjunct to constructions in your field. [...] The new human being is obviously not either the father or the mother, and yet is obviously a construction formed by each from physical matter belonging to each.

You must first of all realize that within you there is somewhere the miraculous knowledge that keeps your body alive and operating. This portion of yourself, despite all your problems, keeps you alive as a physical organism. [...] If that portion of yourself can make all the scientific and biological deductions necessary to maintain your physical organism, then indeed it has the abilities to solve these other problems. [...]

The atoms and molecules within a cloud create the cloud; the atoms and molecules within your body create your body. And you within the body create the world that you know. [...]

Now, I have said this before: On the physical level, your problem is to find a position. [...]

[...] Now the human being is a gestalt of perception. [...]

Needed energy is held back in the fist of fear, and not used for fullest repair within the physical body. When the fear is activated it, the fear, drains more energy from the physical construction, contracting, the fear being like a short-circuit mechanism; and indeed definite electrical forces are here activated.

You do not have to wonder at the small physical symptoms which have bothered both of you lately. [...] The interaction between body and mind is always present. [...]

Inner pockets of fear hold back needed energy, creating these weak points in the physical body. [...]

This does not mean that the individual will necessarily fall ill to many of them, but it does mean that the physical structure has weak points that reflect, or are a result of, an inability along the lines of physical construction, that in turn result from an imperfection in manipulation.

[...] The physical body is truly a more wondrous phenomenon than is supposed, but here I hope I do not push you too far, for this combination of consciousness continues, and its results can be seen in the consciousness of the physical brain.

[...] The physical body that you imagine consists of some sort of separate consciousness, controlling a framework of completely unconscious parts, is quite farfetched.

[...] The cooperative nature of the physical body could be no mere result of your chemicals, and chemical reactions.

The physical body is therefore an attribute of consciousness. [...]

As the physical atoms and molecules combine to form cells, and the cells to form physical organs, and as they do not lose their individuality in so doing, and as the atoms and molecules themselves actually gain and share in higher perceptions because of this gestalt, so do the basic components or fragments of an entity constantly form new and varied personalities; and these in turn form entities of their own.

The cells combine into other patterns, forming finally into your physical organs. When the whole physical body is constructed, the individual personality-consciousness is again more than the sum of its component parts.

Even on your own plane, as seen in the physical corpse itself, the physical images does not suddenly cease. [...]

[...] The creation that causes the whole to be more than the sum of its parts is merely the inner identities, the bulk of this consciousness not able to fully materialize upon the physical plane. In other words, no consciousness fully materializes upon the physical plane.
