“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Lorraine is separated from her husband. Seth’s whiskey connection arises from the fact that he was drinking heavily at that time in Asheville; the only time he did so. There were arguments, Lorraine said. If her youngest child, a boy, had listened, he did so at the age of one. Lorraine remembers a black mailbox; the apartment of course had a rear entry also. Lorraine described a party to us.

(Jane had been speaking rather quietly if rapidly, with her eyes closed. Lorraine, who was also taking shorthand notes, sat close by. Now Jane, her eyes still closed, leaned rather quickly toward Lorraine and her voice boomed out briefly. I confess that I jumped. I didn’t have time to observe Lorraine’s reaction.)

(Jane smiled as she spoke. By the Jesuit and the cat lover Seth meant of course Bill and Peggy Gallagher, who have witnessed quite a few sessions. Jane and I soon noticed that Seth did not refer to Lorraine very often, even when she was a witness, and have speculated about the reasons for this. By contrast we have obtained a good deal more information about the Gallaghers, and Jane has been aware of better “contacts” somehow in relation to them. Our thought has been that if Lorraine kept coming to sessions, sooner or later Seth would speak to her.)

(Lorraine handed me her envelope while Jane was out of the room; thus Jane did not see it before the test. [...] I did not mention to either Jane or Lorraine whether I had planned a test for tonight. Lorraine did not tell me the contents of her envelope. [...]

(Here Seth refers to Lorraine Shafer, who had to leave at last break. He also did well with Lorraine during the last session she witnessed, the 195th of October 4,1965, delivering quite a bit of information on Lorraine’s past; she verified much of it. [...]

[...] It was furnished by Lorraine Shafer, who witnessed this session. [...] The last session witnessed by Lorraine was the 195th, of October 4,1965. [...]

(Lorraine Shafer witnessed tonight’s session. [...] Lorraine now told us that she too had been in York Beach, ME, during the same week that Dr. Instream had been there. Dr. Instream had stayed overnight in York Beach on Monday, August 23; Lorraine had visited the town on Saturday afternoon, August 28.

[...] Lorraine knows them superficially, having witnessed a few sessions with them. We find no reference to either Lorraine or York Beach in the 182nd session. [...]

(To our surprise Lorraine told us this evening that she is quite familiar with Seneca Lake. [...]

(Mrs. Lorraine Shafer witnessed tonight’s session. [...] Lorraine took her own shorthand notes of the material. [...]

[...] Lorraine told us that her first name was Meredith, and that her mother in naming her Meredith Lorraine intended to call her Mary Lou, but never did so. [...]

[...] It will be remembered that Philip is the entity name for John Bradley, who first mentioned the sessions to Lorraine. Lorraine told us later that she was not consciously aware of the existence of the sessions before John told her about them. [...]

(Tonight’s session was witnessed by Lorraine Shafer and Bill Macdonnel. [...] Lorraine witnessed the 168th, of July 7,1965. It will be recalled that Bill Macdonnel’s entity name is Mark, and Lorraine’s is Marleno.

(Lorraine had asked the questions. Now Jane, her eyes still closed, leaned forward in her chair toward Lorraine. [...]

[...] Her pace was rather fast but I had no trouble keeping up with her; nor did Lorraine, using shorthand.

(Lorraine Shafer and Bill and Peggy Gallagher were witnesses for the session. Lorraine has witnessed the 144th and 162nd sessions, the Gallaghers the 158th, 161st and 162nd sessions.

[...] Concerning her accent, which I have called a brogue, Lorraine and Bill Gallagher said they thought of it as a cultivated, well-educated accent acquired perhaps by one who had spent some time in Ireland, for instance, then moved on to live in another country—England, for instance.
