2. For a brief description of Jane’s encounter with Mrs. Steffans, see Note 13 for Session 744, in Volume 2 of “Unknown” Reality. Seth, and Jane and I, described a number of our house-hunting adventures in the two volumes of that work. [...]

[...] When those sessions are in Volume 1, think of that book as a separate entity used for reference in the same way that Seth Speaks, Adventures in Consciousness, or any of Jane’s other books are. [...]

[...] But in October, 1974, long before our move from the two apartments we occupied in downtown Elmira, Jane started her Psychic Politics: An Aspect Psychology Book; that book is the sequel to Adventures in Consciousness, and is to be published this Fall (in 1976) by Prentice-Hall, Inc. [...]

Beginning in June 1974, then, while writing notes and appendixes for Volume 1 of “Unknown”, and taking Seth’s dictation for Volume 2, I spent eight months producing the art work for Jane’s Adventures in Consciousness and for her book of poetry, Dialogues of the Soul and Mortal Self in Time; I finished all of those drawings in January 1975. In the meantime Jane completed Adventures in August 1974, and started Psychic Politics that October. [...]

[...] Since I mentioned self 2, and again remember this is an analogy—self 2 has embarked upon a completely different adventure, in a different direction in another system.

(At the start of this same period my own inner adventures stopped completely, as though hidden by a curtain closing on a stage. [...]

[...] Seth had not said too much about the house adventure, so Jane and I were discussing this when he came through again. [...]

(“Sometimes in ESP class, I could take the whole class with me on a real acceleration adventure, if they could go,” Jane said. [...]

Ruburt’s own development makes this possible, for it was necessary that he progress to the point that he has in Adventures,² and reach the level of certain theories so that these could be used as springboards. [...]

Now: Dineen carefully chose the territory in which these adventures would take place. [...]

[...] That society could then accept his journeys, and the individuals could allow themselves to follow his adventures, and forgive him for his cultural transgression because he brought home goodies.

You magnify the differences of culture as a background and idea instead of realizing that you are both human beings embarked on a magnificent adventure. [...]

For him now the idea of a long trip is a daring adventure: does he really have the freedom to go so far?

[...] There are certain considerations, quite pertinent, that occur in your physical times, so that while on the one hand you were involved in the highest adventures of creativity, pursuing the most profound questions of consciousness, you were also deeply involved in practical considerations of making a living.

Before we get down to Ruburt’s particulars, consider the fact that you are presently a part of a species that is specializing in the development of various kinds of consciousness, embarked upon an adventure that sees consciousness not only trying out new directions, from your perspective, but also trying to “perfect” and advance particular attributes.

[...] Seth ‘never promised us a rose garden,’ and we have our good days and our bad days as we encounter life’s daily challenges, joys, adventures, and misadventures. [...]

[...] Also however she is not as adventurous, for it is after all your endeavor: you carry the main issues and personal involvement. [...]

[...] There are more “coincidences” involved than those Seth described tonight, none of them consciously known to Jane and me before the Sayre adventure: Mr. Markle is in a nursing home but a few miles from where we live in Elmira, and my mother spent her last days in a similar home less than 15 miles away; one of Mr. Markle’s children lives in Elmira, and is connected with a store Jane and I have visited; Mr. Johnson, of the real estate couple that conducted us about in Sayre, did sign painting and truck lettering as a younger man, as I did; he and I had several mutual acquaintances in Sayre, among them an older artist of some reputation — and now deceased — that we had known in our high school days; and so forth.

[...] When you worry all day then the library goes out the window, and so does your feeling of creative adventure, in your own creative hours, both of you. [...]

It developed, however, that Jane’s reincarnational adventure might end up doing double duty: Not only had it given her insights concerning her sinful self, but now she picked up from Seth that his remarks about it could result in dictation for Dreams. [...]

(Seven and a half years ago, Seth had referred to a version of myself living in first-century Rome: “So Joseph ‘was’ Nebene, a scholarly man, not adventurous, obsessed with copying ancient truths, and afraid that creativity was error; authoritative and demanding. [...]

[...] The Seth books sell better, however, than do her “own” books: How to Develop Your ESP Power, Adventures in Consciousness, Psychic Politics, Cézanne and James, her Oversoul Seven novels, Dialogues and Emir.
