(I did dwell upon the fact that Seth—and Jane—have yet to go into the main question I’ve asked several times since she came home from the hospital: the current attitude and role of her sinful self. [...]

[...] I said I thought both she and Seth had avoided my questions about the sinful self, which I saw as part of the sinful self’s power to cover up issues it didn’t want to face, or considered threatening. [...]

(I mentioned that it would be interesting to get from Seth sometime information about the counterpart—families of consciousness concepts as pertaining to other than human creatures. Seth hasn’t gone into the ideas as related to insects, say, or birds or the animals—or viruses or bacteria, for that matter—at all, and I’m sure there is a wealth of fascinating information there. [...] She took a few steps without the aid of her table or chair each time—very encouraging progress for her, and fitting in with what Seth has had to say recently about her coming spontaneous urges to begin walking again. [...]

(Before the session Jane said she thought Seth might discuss some of the ideas in a book by Fred Hoyle, the English astronomer that she’s reading, on the ten different universes of man. [...]

[...] She had spoken slowly but with emphasis, and said she could almost feel Seth wanting her to get just the right words. [...]

(It will be recalled that in the 63rd session, page 159, Seth gave us an August 12-15 date for Miss Callahan. [...] I mentioned it to Jane this morning, but had no plans to ask Seth about it tonight.

[...] Still sitting across the table from me, she remarked that if Seth had promised, earlier, to maintain the road to the house for us, she would have gone through with the deal. I jokingly answered that if Seth had done something about the traffic noise rolling up the mountainside, I would have gone through with the purchase. [...]

[...] 8/11, 8:15 PM, I tried the technique of immersion as discussed by Seth in the 78th session. [...]

(Here Seth surprised us by referring to one of our little efforts of last Monday evening, after the session. [...] From various information Seth has given us, I believe such things are possible at times, and Jane agrees. [...]

(After Monday’s short session Jane visited Miss Callahan, but was unable to learn from her of anything unusual or significant that might have happened to or with her during the time mentioned by Seth in the 63rd session. [...]

(Jane’s cold was not much better, and as session time drew near she said that unless Seth helped her considerably there would be no session, for she was having difficulty talking.

(Just before the session was due, I mentioned two things I hoped Seth would discuss: his dates for Miss Callahan, and the car experiment on my part, described on page 302. [...]

(Jane, as Seth, paused. [...] But I think that Seth’s material here is the best we could possibly come across on our publisher, Castaneda, etc., and I’m sure that Jane will agree.

(Before the session, Jane had remarked that she wished Seth could, or would, let her know whether witnesses were coming. If she is able to let Seth so inform her in advance, it would be very convenient, to say the least.)

[...] Seth has yet to explain what he means by “preparing” our new house for us. During break we tried to give the Pipers a brief resume of what the Seth material involves. [...]

[...] I interrupted Jane’s delivery somewhat to ask it, and it will be noted that Seth did not answer it. [...]

(After supper this evening Jane told me she thought Seth might talk about dreams and the subconscious at the session. In the event that Seth might do this, and also discuss our dreams, as he has mentioned doing by way of illustrating the material, I read to Jane just before the session began two very vivid dreams that I have had within the last two weeks, involving my father and other members of my family.
