“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(During the two weeks immediately following the 691st session, Jane kept working with the project involving the missing person; see the notes for that session. [...] And Seth, very briefly commenting upon the search while it was still in progress, remarked to an out-of-town group of visitors that Jane was endeavoring to use her psychic abilities on her own; and that the assurance she was gaining through her efforts would be much more valuable to her than any she might derive from Seth himself “doing all the work.”

[...] The encouragement of your presence is of psychic benefit to Ruburt, and the exercise in working with the personal subconscious is of help to him also. He is also used to working with you in our sessions, you see.

[...] There is an implied statement of purpose then, in which you both work together toward the complete restoration of his image. [...]

(Jane was actually a little chilly at times, and asked me to turn up the heat, which was working fine. [...]

[...] She did so poorly that she quit reading at 3:13, as I worked on mail. [...]

[...] “He must have told you that I don’t give readings but concentrate on our private work and the Seth sessions.”

[...] You [Jim] were also involved with him in two past lives in the same relationship, and as priests you both were interested in the inner workings of the universe.”

[...] Seth advised him to stay with communications, saying that if he continued in radio there would be another radio job, and then an emergence into another line of work.

Your isolation during working hours becomes even more precious and more constructive when contrasted with periods given to friends, as sweet is sweeter when bitter is on the tongue. You forget also that because of your makeup all your experiences are translated into your work, and work becomes play and play becomes work.

I did not intend to make you work so hard this evening, Joseph. If your hand is working as quickly as Ruburt’s mouth then you must be exhausted. [...]

[...] I am going into this matter because it has concerned both of you at various times, and I would like to state that your work will not suffer by expending energy in these other directions.

[...] Your personalities, work habits and goals are well set and secure enough not to be threatened in such a manner. [...]

Even in his poetry, before our work, Ruburt’s energy led him way beyond “himself” at certain times. [...]

[...] It is not closed entirely but nevertheless it could be said to approximate in psychic terms the enclosure within which your so-called mediums work; that is, with a minimum of camouflage communication at hand.

Ruburt’s intellect and his emotions, working together, work joyfully in his writing, his psychic endeavors, and his subjective experience in general. [...]

[...] I heard Jane listening to this evening’s segment while I was working in the writing room. [...]

[...] Now you are actively acting as a trusted party, working for the release of the portion held in relative captivity, and your assurances at this point can be extremely important. [...]

Thousands of books could be written, showing how such patterns work in individual lives, and in mass encounters. [...] Anything that increases his enjoyment increases his work—in your situation, now—and increases the healing process and his spontaneity.

(Our beliefs and intents cause us to pick “from an unpredictable group of actions,” or probabilities, those that we want to happen, as Seth tells us in the 681st session in Volume 1; therefore, from my physically oriented probability the considerable work I’ve put into this paper is an examination of evolution in connection with a number of Seth’s concepts. [...]

(Even so, as I worked on this appendix I wondered again and again why I was investing so much time in it. [...]

[...] Instead, he assigned the pain and suffering in the world to the impersonal workings of natural selection and chance variation [or genetic mutation]. [...]

[...] When the ego becomes too concerned with daily matters, with worry in other words, then the works of the tool become clogged. The suggestions given herein, that the mentioned personality live alone, work apart from the family, walk briskly a half-hour a day, strike a balance between altruistically helping others and quietly opposing their ideas through expression when he does not agree, are very important.
