“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

I have lived through many reincarnations and faced these problems and I was not free until I realized this basic truth. [...]

(To Brad.) In the last portion of my talk, in the very last portion, I was speaking directly to you. [...]

(The following was prompted by someone’s urging Seth to hurry up and say good evening.)

([Ned:] “Is that what the dream was about?”)

That is what that dream was about. [...]

[...] None of you saw where I was looking, now did you? [...]

[...] But you will have no difficulty starting with the stage that was discussed here this evening, and each of you know intuitively what that stage is. [...]

[...] She had picked up a fresh cigarette, then discovered that she was out of matches. [...] I was glad of the chance to rummage around; the pace had been fast.)

[...] Seth’s material, especially that given around 9:34, was quite apropos in light of an amusing incident involving Jane shortly before the session. [...]

(During break, I wondered aloud if she might have selected the book because she intuitively knew Seth was going to discuss its kind tonight — or did Seth use the incident, once it transpired, to make his points in a fresh way? [...]

[...] I just got the next sentence,” she laughed, but my writing hand was lame so I asked her to wait. [...]

[...] [Indeed, these animals are so sensitive to disease of any kind that they must be raised under sterile conditions.] Jane was very upset by the article and mentioned it to me several times.¹

[...] (Louder:) There were Jews sacrificed to the same end not too long ago, and the reasoning was largely the same, though in that case you were dealing with your own species.

Ruburt was incensed by the article that he read, and he said indignantly that such procedures involve a biological immorality. [...]

(I was shaking my head no, grinning, before Seth finished asking his question. [...]

[...] The following notes are as complete as I was able to keep up with Seth.)

[...] There was a Spanish life in the 17th century and one in what is now California in the early 1800’s. You have been twice a woman and three times a man. [...]

The tax episode threw Ruburt into a quandary—not only because of the situation, but because you, he felt, felt so threatened that there was no joy in his royalty check. [...]

[...] That is why your conversation earlier was advantageous, because you do not often verbalize your feelings.

[...] You thought of your father in many ways as feminine—passive, and of your mother—in many ways, now—as aggressive and male, though she was emotional. [...]

[...] It was very small, and dark-colored; she didn’t know whether it would get larger at a later time, or what. [...]

The overall climate the other evening was highly charged, and yet well balanced. [...]

[...] A very slight amount of physical weight was lost on Ruburt’s part. [...]

[...] The setting of the dream was the same—my studio—as the dream of August 20, mentioned on page 69. [...]

[...] Jane was out as usual.)

[...] In two cases he was using his own energy to sustain and direct the group, and to transport them, so to speak. [...]

The structure of the sessions was set up because I felt that in the long run the structure itself would be permanent, able to withstand any natural strains, and also strong enough and flexible enough to permit maximum fulfillment. [...]

[...] “I was just beginning to feel that I was getting into a deeper state,” she said. [...]

[...] After it was over I wished I had recorded the conversation, since it contained much information that could be applied generally. [...]

(Last Friday, April 25, was day 174 of the taking of the American hostages in Iran. [...] Since six of them were considered vital for a successful rescue, the mission was canceled at that point—but eight crewmen were killed when one of the remaining helicopters collided with a transport plane during a refueling attempt. [...]

10:12 P.M. “There was something there toward the last,” Jane said. [...] Was that a good session?”

Historically, the animosity between Iran (which until 1935 was called Persia) and Iraq goes back to at least the seventh century, when Arabic conquests brought Islam to the area. [...]

(4:26 p.m. No one had shown up to do Jane’s vitals — which meant that the staff was behind schedule. In fact, no one appeared to do the vitals for the rest of the time I was there — until 7:10. [...]

(The day was considerably cooler. [...]

[...] I was more than happy to follow this intuition from my creative self, for it answered many questions I’d started to consciously worry about.

[...] The facts are, though, that Jane’s already impaired physical condition grew steadily worse while she was working on the book. [...]

Moreover, the choice of presenting the material in essay form proved to have one virtue that was more valuable than all the others combined: It allowed us to delve into the events I describe, and “our deep-seated, sometimes wrenching feelings connected to them,” a little bit at a time. [...]

I wanted you to know that I was here; but, more than that, I wanted you to know that you are ready for more information. [...]

[...] I understand that Ruburt was not too jovial last week. [...]

[...] At the same time this expansion did put him in situations that he had avoided before, and so the contrast between his physical situation and that of others was apparent—and to him, frightening. This in itself however was an advance, and it served to bring up the fact that these were body beliefs.

[...] Break was a little early. Jane was surprised, since she thought much more time had passed. I told her the material was most interesting. [...]

[...] Her delivery tonight, without voice effects, with only short pauses and a minimum of gestures, was the kind that seemingly could continue indefinitely. [...]

In a way I was just as bad: I questioned myself and my experiences at every corner, and still do. [...] Instead, particularly in the beginning, I was as much appalled as delighted with each new development.

[...] [Earlier Seth had explained that this “psychological bridge” was constructed by both of us.] When you wish to contact me at other than [the] usual appointed times, I may or may not be easily available. [...] If that need was strong, I would of course answer it, even as you would not disregard the need of a friend. [...]

Rob asked Seth once if he was always available to us for a session, and Seth’s answer shows clearly that we have more than a simple one-to-one relationship. [...]

Seth went on to say that I had given my permission for such an arrangement, and that much of our work went on while I was sleeping or otherwise engaged. [...]

[...] He was also beginning to deviate somewhat from the outline he’d given in the 510th session on January 10, 1970, but we had expected this. Seth was on his own, Jane said. [...]

[...] It was 9:42.)

The play itself was concerned with the actualization of intuitive truth into what you would call artistic form, with a creativity of such vast and sweeping results that it would serve to awaken latent abilities within each actor and to serve as a model of behavior.

(A note, added later: Except for one instance, Seth was to give many more chapters after this session before Jane looked at the book again….)
