“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

(Long pause at 9:05.) He is presently encountering that kind of feeling, uncovering the reasons for it, and trying to recapture in a way the very young innocent self’s sense of faith. That faith existed even before churchly doctrine was imposed over it. He is trying to uncover his own natural faith. That attempt, of course, brings him into conflict with whatever doubts still stand in his way.

(Long pause at 9:23.) A belief in a “God who provides,” by whatever name, is indeed a psychological requirement for the good health of the body and mind. Ruburt did not want to face such issues. (Long pause.) He felt that they opened the door to all of organized religion’s psychological quicksand of emotionalism. The Sinful Self material is doing its work, opening the necessary doorways of desire and intent. When Ruburt has typed those small later poems, the path will seem much clearer to him. (Long pause.) The innocent self is being uncovered.

Ruburt’s idea did come from me, about your reincarnational episodes, and your personal experience illustrates what I am saying in the book—the individual’s history is written in the psyche, and can indeed be uncovered. [...]

(Jane told me this afternoon that she’d had a flash from Seth about my reincarnational episodes of late, and how I was in the process of uncovering my personal “past”, as Seth says in The “Unknown” Reality.

Spontaneous talking out on Ruburt’s part for this particular incident or times, to elicit the full release of pent-up emotions that lay behind the uncovering, you see. [...] A discharge of this type is required when unpleasant material of an emotional kind is uncovered through the pendulum.

[...] On a few occasions such material was partially uncovered, and you both ended the session. [...]

[...] I told Jane part of that value lay in the fact that we waited until now to play it, when she has decided to try to uncover her own causes and effects. [...]

[...] While these must be uncovered, they should be balanced by a new determination to seek out pleasure (emphatically) — the pleasure will help couch the fears.

In the kind of schizophrenic behavior we have just been discussing, hypnosis is frequently used as therapy, often in an attempt not only to introduce the two levels of the personality to each other, but also to uncover the time they originally split off in such a fashion.

Under such therapy it sometimes seems that new, lesser personality fragments are uncovered, but it is very possible that these instead are created by the therapy itself. [...]

[...] This will help him uncover the reasons for his distrust of the body, so that he can begin to feel a new sense of the body’s reliability, resourcefulness, and powerful healing abilities.

(I’ve received various answers from the pendulum on the background causes for my upset; not really contradictory, by and large, but signifying to me that in spite of my concern I hadn’t been willing to buckle down and really work at uncovering the beliefs causing the unrest. [...]

[...] The pendulum work was important because of the togetherness it entailed, the joint determination it symbolizes, and Ruburt’s decision to uncover any or all fears rather than hiding them.

The pendulum should be used to uncover feelings, to allow feedback between portions of the self, but mostly as a way of implanting new knowledge and constructive suggestions and feelings of safety to the “subconscious.”

[...] He agreed with us that it was okay to leave the area uncovered and free of cream, since it’s thoroughly washed each day in hydro. [...]

[...] In the same way, following your own “trace” experiences and characteristics, you can discover those “probable” abilities that are yours, and uncover to some degree the nature of probable actions open to you for physical materialization.

Ruburt’s recent discomfort is partially caused by the fear that his body will not be able to completely heal itself, even if he does uncover all of the reasons for his predicament.

Many proponents of reincarnation believe most firmly that an illness in one life most frequently has its roots in a past existence, and that reincarnational regression is therefore necessary to uncover the reasons for many current illnesses or dilemmas.

In the light of this discussion, now, that self was as unrealistic at its end of the spectrum as the Sinful Self was at the other, for Ruburt felt that he was supposed to demonstrate a certain kind of superhuman feat, not only managing on occasion to uncover glimpses of man’s greater abilities, but to demonstrate these competently at the drop of a hat, willingly at the request of others. (However, by late in the week I could see patterns emerging through my use of the pendulum, all concerning related feelings, doubts, etc., and was reassured that I was on the way to uncovering the source of my physical distress. [...]
