“Seth material” search engine (Jane Roberts)

He did not know his wife requested the session, and I do not want it known. He will give you a statement to my benefit, but not the kind of a statement you may want to use. He did attend a session here himself, and you may request a statement on that session.

Robert and Jane operated in a vacuum, since he did not tell them anything regarding the tests, negative or favorable. No academic psychologist, including Dr. Instream, will give you a statement to the effect that I am a survival personality. Dr. Instream will give a statement I believe, as to Robert and Jane’s character, the quality of the Seth material itself, and the fact that no fraud of any kind is involved.

A few of the early factual statements made were unknown, I believe, even to his wife. However, while you may see these files, I will not have any part of showing my own legitimacy by pointing up the weaknesses of a man’s condition. It was not generally known that he was ill, or the circumstances of his illness.

(Within 15 minutes of finishing her statement, Jane spontaneously began writing a second, longer one. [...] But first the material: She regards its method of reception, as well as its content, as representing breakthroughs of a kind for her, and because both that reception and content are related to “Unknown” Reality we’re presenting considerable portions of the statement here:)

[...] That afternoon, after we’d discussed her second statement of the day, I asked her to write a description of the circumstances surrounding her reception of it. [...]

Now these are powerful and “magical” statements, and as Ruburt made them mentally he could psychologically feel his agreement with any given one, and also the degree with which in the past he had not wholeheartedly accepted those abilities, but had set up certain restrictions about them—so a new flash in communication was set up, and new recognition came into his conscious mind. Those statements can be used now to full advantage. [...]

[...] “Then I gave myself those statements as I went to bed for my nap. I could feel a certain amount of resistance, to varying degrees, to some of the statements. [...]

Following brief insights concerning these ideas, Ruburt found himself mentally making this kind of statement to himself (colon): I accept my natural agility wholeheartedly. [...]

(As quickly as she could once she became aware of what was happening that Sunday morning, Jane typed a 3-page summary or outline of the contents for The Way Toward Health, including chapter headings, then wrote a very condensed statement about how the whole thing came to her. We’re presenting the statement below, and a few examples from the outline, in order to show some of her other activities while producing “Unknown” Reality. [...]

[...] In reverse order, therefore, I’ll present first the statement she wrote describing that process of reception once it was completed, then return to the outline itself.)

(After Jane finished her outline and statement she slept for several hours. [...]

[...] I learned the trouble was based on my fear that Jane wouldn’t accept, or believe in, the statement. [...] This of course was a tie-in with the repressions on her part that I’d written about in the statement today.

It served that purpose, and as mentioned elsewhere it served as a symbolic statement as he put himself behind you. [...] He took this to be a statement that he was running ahead of you, and to slow up.

(While I was typing up this material on February 25, Jane got the translation of the Sumari I wrote her at the end of the statement of February 24. Both the statement & the translation, which I think is excellent, are included with this session.

[...] The statements of the Sinful Self show him clearly the reasons why he was afraid of pursuing the unknown, and afraid therefore of using his own natural abilities freely and safely. [...]

Those statements should not go underground, again, but he should sympathetically address his doubts and the various points of their contentions can then be quite adequately settled—or at least resolved, reconciled. [...]

This is not the reason for all such deaths by any means, but there is usually an implied statement in them so that the death seems to have an additional meaning that makes parents and contemporaries question. [...] There are also mass statements of the same kind for people come together to die, however, to seek company in death as they do in life. [...]

[...] And when it seems that the world is devoid of meaning, then some people will make a certain kind of statement through the circumstances connected with their own deaths.

[...] Its import varies according to the individual — and in a certain fashion, death is your last chance to make a statement of import in any given life, if you feel you have not done so earlier.

[...] There is no crime to be punished, but between those last two statements lies a world of understanding, and knowledge that must be attained. And punishment enters in between those two statements as the individual takes the consequence for the action and the intent.

By the time he realizes the truth of the second statement, neither crime nor punishment affect him.

[...] Between those two statements again lies worlds that must be deciphered.

(This statement, Jane informed me, made Seth boiling mad. [...] At its end will be found a copy of John Bradley’s handwritten, dated and signed statement that he was a witness.

[...] Jane and I suggested to John that he write a statement as a witness to the session. Break ended just as John, trying to get entity names versus personality names straightened out, was wondering how to address Seth in his statement. [...]

[...] It might have seemed sometimes that our ideas were fanciful projections, hoped-for but unreal hypotheses that had their own important intrinsic creative value, but did not necessarily stand for any real statements of fact about the physical universe. [...]

They might have seemed like even brilliant (amused) theoretical statements, my own pronouncements, but little by little you accepted them intellectually while still being emotionally bound through habit, so that indeed, as Ruburt wrote, you almost became programmed, your questions about reality based upon the erroneous facts of Darwinism, Freudianism, or religion. [...]

Instead, you should see the pen you want in your mind, know that you will have a steady supply of them, recognize the statement you just made as leading away from your desire, and replacing it with a statement like the one you just made. [...]

[...] “Those aren’t the kind of thoughts I want,” that mental statement is a help. [...]

[...] By such a statement you effectively make sure that you will not find the pen you want, and it is a small example of the use of the wrong method.

[...] And hold room for the feelings of loss and bitterness and anger that are behind Anita Bryant’s statements. And the feelings of lack of worth that power her statements and feelings. [...]

[...] It is a world of individuals, and distorting an old historic statement: God must love individuals because he never made anything else. [...]

(Seth:) Since there are no physical universities, and since I threw out those statements with my own purposes in mind, then it follows that those who are interested must find their own way; and that their imagination and will must drive them to find their own methods. [...]

I would make clear the nature and conditions in which I now have my existence, and explain some of the reasons for the various, often contradictory, statements made concerning life after death. Statements received by various mediums, in which quite different pictures of afterlife reality are received.

[...] It would include my statements as to how these communications take place, and what manipulations are necessary from my side.

Such a book would do much to explain how the medium is led, wherever possible, to make those correct statements that add up to almost what your parapsychologists like to call a hit—for she is almost literally hit with them.

(This last statement would refer to the 104th session, November 4, 1964. See pages 125-6. Here Seth made rather strong statements concerning sales by Jane of her writings. [...]

Subject: Viruses as part of the body’s overall health system, and viruses as biological statements.

(As we talked about Seth’s statement, and decided we should concentrate upon beneficial things, Jane then wanted to know how this idea fits in with the importance of not repressing negative thoughts. [...]

[...] But it will also make you feel that you are starting out the day with the sunrise and your work—a symbolic statement concerning your values. [...]

Suggestions are usually statements directed toward a particular action or hypothesis. [...]

These are all statements leading toward a certain hypothesis. [...]

[...] And I told her that her statement reminded me that the same thought had come to me a couple of times previously after I’d been pretty sure that Seth was giving book work.
