(The article led me to wonder why we behaved as we did, as a species, with seemingly little change throughout recorded history; I wondered what purposes, what real sense, lay behind our attitudes and actions, etc; Jane and I had a little discussion about it.

[...] It would give you the chance to explore different aspects of nature, quite simply, some different species of plants or animals, but one in which water itself is the ever-pervading main element. [...]

Such usually unconscious knowledge is of great benefit to the species itself, so that at certain levels, at least, the knowledge of the species is not imprisoned within any given generation at once, but flows or circulates within the overall larger reincarnational picture. [...]

Actually, that kind of psychological behavior represents the backbone of social organization as far as the species is concerned, and it is the usually hidden but definite past and future memories of reincarnational relationships that cement social organizations, from small tribes to large governments.

[...] Its reality, however, serves to generate activity throughout time’s framework as you understand it, to unite the species, to reinforce structures of knowledge, to transmit information, and perhaps most of all to reinforce relationships involving love, brotherhood, and cooperation between generations of men and women that would otherwise be quite separate and apart from each other.

Through such relationships, for example, say, the cavemen and the people of the 22nd century rub elbows, where in strict terms of time the species would seem to be quite disconnected from its “earlier” or “later” counterparts.

[...] A species at any given time is the materialization of the inner images or ideas of its individual members, each of whom forms their own idea constructions.

This new dimension enabled the species to manipulate and recognize its own constructions and freed it to focus greater energy in projecting some ideas over others. [...]

When I come across material that puts down the physical body, I sometimes try to counter such negative projections by turning to one of the technological accomplishments of our “degraded” species: I study photographs of minute portions of the human body, taken with a scanning electron microscope. Changes in the physical structure of the species will always follow inner need, and the inner need is anticipated from the beginning of the seed. [...]

Your ideas of the history of your species, then, are largely distorted versions of the latest chapter, in those terms.

[...] Here I would like to emphasize that to one degree or another all species of plant and animal life “dream.” [...]

[...] Other species have a hand in this also, however, and in one way or another all of you direct the activity of the physical body of the world in much the same way that you [each] direct your own bodily behavior.

[...] The question that has always bothered me is brought up—why does our history only go back five or six thousand years ago, when Homo Sapiens appeared some 50,000 years ago as an established species? [...]

[...] Those consciousnesses who picked physical materialization choose to operate under certain conditions that then appear as the natural characteristics of a species to you.

(Long pause.) Throughout the centuries various individuals have come close, yet had no vehicle of expression that would have enabled the members of the species to understand. [...]

Within your system however, color, to man, is more important than shape, though this is not true with all species in your system. [...]

[...] The whole thing seems to me to be a symbolic turning point in world history, full of danger in the terms of Framework 1. To me, all the parties involved in the dispute seem helpless and frightened; it echoes similar conscious-mind threats that I think the species has created for itself throughout recorded history.)

[...] When you think of a possible destruction of your planet, you imagine perhaps the mutilation of nature as you know it, the species changed. [...]

[...] Yet I come to your reality by a strange route — one that does not involve roads or highways but psychological dramas that wind backward like paths into the “psychological history” of your species. [...]

[...] I am not putting down the species in any way, yet it is true to say that (pause) people who are beyond their time, or ahead of it, cannot expect most people to accept their ideas so readily.

One of the main issues is the recognition of the fact that energy is good, that its expression is to be naturally encouraged, and that through such encouragement each individual best fulfills his or her life, and also adds to the development and understanding of the species.
